This may be an unpopular opinion, but UND fans should go and have fun, and trying to sell off your tickets (especially on here, not to mention minutes after UND got eliminated) is a douche move.

Supporting the event by showing up is the best way to ensure that UND will continue to have host bids awarded in the future. You should represent, and wear Sioux gear and drive the NCAA nuts when you get on camera. For as much grief as we all give the other regionals for having crappy attendance, I would think that UND fans would not want the event hosted by their school to look equally pathetic. Remember - the Fighting Hawks logo will be evident on the boards and very likely the ice.

‘Douche move’?  Would you reconsider it as ‘fiscally responsible’?  Hoping for 50% ROI from some SCSU fans.  Of course buying the pair involved some risk way back when, but fifteen straight years was getting close to being a sure thing.

  2. Twin Cities metro-area advertising has ebbed and flowed over the past ten years, per my observations, which is mostly billboard advertising.  Prior to the mid-2000s, there wasn't much of that going on, if I remember correctly, but of course my memory is not what it used to be.  The content has varied too, sometimes touting some media ranking, aviation or general do-gooder displays.  During the years 2011 - 2015, there seemed to be a lot of billboard advertising, but gradually dropped off.  That method was not as prevalent until recently, fall of last year it seemed to pick up again along the metro highways.

There has never been much of a TV presence for UND here in the Cities, unless you are watching a game on CBSSN or Fox College Sports cable channels.  NDSU seems to have continually had a small TV advertising presence over the last bit of time here on a variety of channels, perhaps a decade?

I think he's covering the WJC in Buffalo right now.

That is where he is, thanks for the reminder.  Love Dave calling Sioux Hockey.

But that doesn't mean they will show the game, happened last Friday.

Would have to make travel plans to a Joe Senser's, if one knows that it will NOT be on NCHC.tv.  Anyone know how to tell for certain it will not be the web?

Sorry, after Duluth pulled the dirty plays out of the bag in the championship, I can't pull for them.  Think about it, 1st series we play against them Soucy takes out Boesser.  He had to sit for a while after he tried gutting out a series in Minneapolis to follow.  Second series we play them Soucy takes out Jost.  Then the championship game because Soucy is out, Pionk takes out Tucker and for good measure, runs Cam.  For one minute, you can't tell me this is coincidence.  I thought they took out a few other players this year too.  If that is what you have to do to win, then watch out next year, paybacks are a bugger.

Not that it matters much but believe it was Kotyk that ran Poolman.

She didn't respond to anyone but me. And I never once called a ref a bozo or a clown... at least not on this board :D

Seriously though, you think the offsides review process and/or the offsides play from Friday should be off limits for discussion?

She was responding to me as apparently I used inappropriate terms for a referee.  Lesson learned today:  First Amendment doesn't apply to those who choose to vent some frustration on this message board.

I will point out that I did throw a bone, in the same post, to the 'bozo' or 'clown' that ultimately made the decision to waive off - he must have seen definitive evidence on some zoomed-in image on that small monitor that Hoff was in the zone before the puck.  If I was able to see the same image, then I will gladly change the descriptor to 'expert'.  Otherwise, I claim that the evidence from the images us misinformed fans saw did not reach the level of conclusiveness to waive off the goal.

BTW, if he had not waived off the goal, the team beats BU, AND evidence was seen later that Hoff was truly offsides, then I would feel the win to be tainted.  He would flip back to being a bozo, in my small, diseased brain at least.

The whole time I was scrolling through twitter between overtimes I was just praying someone had a great conclusive look down the line showing Hoff offsides so we didn't have another 'one that got away' moment.

IMO calling it from a camera 200 feet away is a joke. We're trusting this camera through a net with questionable resolution to zoom in that far rather than the linesman who was standing down the blue line that was looking for this very infraction.  It's not logical.

You bring up good points here as to distance, view obstruction and resolution.  I would add those bozos were looking at a monitor that could not have been greater that 13" on the diagonal.  The one I was looking at, even thru green-tinted glasses, was 50" on the diagonal and it certainly was not conclusive in my mind.   Perhaps the clowns were looking at different image(s) than ESPN was broadcasting - I'll hang my hat on this to justify disallowing the goal in order to stay out of the rabbit hole.

No they are more high brow over at the X, it will be more Celine Dion and Bette Midler. I hear they have the states best Mimosa's too.

Between the two nights, I heard Pearl Jam five-six times, I'm happy.

Coffee at only one location in a cold arena + no hot chocolate: poor planning for a hockey event.  We hopped across the street to Starbucks between games on Saturday.

Patience for one more year on ice conditions, boards integrity, fit/finish for seating, bathrooms and ventilation.

Another reason for me switching ends, I have been in 101 and 138 for both times down there and UND has lost.  I figured, time to switch things up.

    Spreading the word as requested...

A fine young fella, Jonathan, at NCHC Guest Services hooked up the wife and I with seats in 121, saved ~$35 in service fees, in my estimation.

He relayed to me that there are open spots in all of those five end sections the Sioux will be shooting at twice.

So I was correct in buying section 121 tickets.  :D

I heard back from the NCHC late last night via email - they validate both assessments from ringneck28 & southpaw

Thus, if you like that kind of thing in the lower level and tickets are available - sections 116, 118, 121, 124 & 126 would be the good seats.

I guess I just looked on the Target Center website, and single day Friday were $21.50.  Jumps up to just over $31 with all of the ridiculous fees.

I do see that single-day Friday tickets are for sale via the TC site.  But @ $71.50/ticket. The seat was in 113.

What section were you looking at for $21.50/ticket?

  12. Excuse me if I missed anything from previous posts, but will ask anyway.  Is there one airport among LGA, JFK or EWR that would favor the cheapest, easiest & shortest transfer to NYC Penn Station?  Newark seems to fit that bill but am wondering if other experienced fliers have an opinion?  At the moment, the fares from MSP among these three are the same.
