  1. but we dohave mor talnt thenmost teams

My gfhockey-to-English translator is a bit off, but I swear I thought that read 'we have more taint than most teams.' Then I wondered, is that an official NCAA statistic?

  2. Yes, on NBCOlympics.com. You have to choose your television provider and then login.

If you are a Midco subscriber, you will need to log in using your Midco TV EVERYWHERE login, which may be based on an e-mail other than the one at which you regularly receive e-mails from Midco. I don't use a Midco e-mail account and learned this the hard way the other day, missing a lot of the game.

If you are a TV EVERYWHERE noob or only use it occasionally, before going to NBC, have your regular Midco account login information handy so that you can figure out your TV EVERYWHERE login information.

  3. Hy-Vee needs to expand a bit farther north. They would absolutely blow away the pathetic local/regional chains in this area. Huge stores, great selection, quality breakfast/deli/Chinese food, dining room, gas stations.

I can only hope that the new Hugo's location will take a cue from its contemporary peers…the Grand Forks locations are relics of days long gone.

  4. Wouldn't the Indian Reservation lose money from people traveling to GF and not to Belcourt?

A drop in the bucket if the tribe's off-reservation enterprise is a serious money-maker and, just as importantly, reaches new markets. Probably lots of I-29 travelers and 'urbanites' (applying that term loosely...it's ND) who wouldn't set foot in Belcourt but who would gladly step into a shiny, new facility in GF.

Heck, even Wal-Mart started out in backwater small towns; now there's one in every upper middle class suburb.

If the tribe is pushing, I'm sure they've done the math.

  5. As a non-gambler, the only upsides I see are economic development (retail, dining, etc.) around the site (NIMBY, of course) and the addition of a quality entertainment venue to get us on the map for touring artists and events who seem all too content to skip GFK and even FAR on a regular basis.

  6. Lets get her going again...

Y'all might get your wish…Hak just sent this text to the team:

“We are two months into open gymsone month from the end of the regular season and obviously all of you are satisfied with last year’s titlenight's game. We are the team that will havealways has a target on our backs. We are the team that everyone throws their acehot goalie against. We are the team everyone wants to beat this year. I am sick of stupid excuses to not come to open gymplay a full sixty. … If you want to be an athlete commit to it. One hourTwo games a week is not too much to ask if you want to be an athlete. If you make an excuse not to comecompete then you are telling me what kind of athlete you are. I cannot require you to comecompete but I thought I would have a group excited to try and defend awin an inaugural league title. Not to make excuses and not care. Some of you are not even in a sportthe weight room or watching film right now, which is even more pathetic. … I will not send out another message like this, but some of you may be in for a rude awakening when the seasonMiami comes and you are not in the lineup due to a younger player that puts in the time.”

Word is that a certain player's parents are, at this moment, frantically searching for Faison's phone number.

  7. Turning point in the game. UND is up 3-1 and rolling, and Clark drops the puck and its a goal for Omaha to make it 3-2. Came right after UND nearly made it 4-1.

I'm nominating Jutting for "Best Use of a Timeout Early in the 2nd Period by an Assistant Coach in the history of college hockey." UNO never looked back, and the Sioux obliged.
