  1. First of all let me say that I am an NSIC fan but I also realize the the NCC women have been the dominant conference in D2 women's basketball in the recent past (and well earned). But you also need to realize that things are slowly changing. The NCC record this year against the NSIC was 26 - 18. Not exactly dominating. Your conference champ was 2-2 vs the NSIC. Losses against Concordia and Duluth. Their 2 wins were a 4 point win at home against lowly Crookston and a 4 point win at Moorhead. But with that being said, the NCC is tougher from top to bottom. Because of that teams improve more throughout the year than do the NSIC teams. I saw the 2nd half of the Concordia-Duluth game on Saturday. Concordia lost one of their better players with an injury on Saturday and didn't impress me at all on Sunday. I think Duluth will beat them again. Duluth's best player who was injured for most of the year has been playing for the last several games. I thought that since Concordia lost the conference tournament and lost a key player that the tournament would be elsewhere. It probably should have been in GF.
  2. As a fan from NSU, I agree with the comments about the Ganglehoff center. We haved been forced to play our conference tournaments there for the last few years. At this point the conference refuses to give the conference tournament to the conference winner. I think they feel because the same teams have dominated over the last 20 years that they think it may give someone else a chance on a different floor. Parking is real scarce around the Ganglehoff. If your looking for a good place to stay go to the 4 Points Sheraton. It is within walking distance (about 2-3 blocks.) On a side note, Concordia lost one of their best players Saturday with an injury. I was told she was out for the year, but don't know for sure.
  3. Personaly, I like the atmosphere at Frost, but I don't like the floor, the colors seem really faded and it makes the arena seem old.
  4. Corella, What is the address of the SDSU board?
  5. I've had the pleasure of watching Grant develop the last 2 years. He may not be as fluid as some players but I haven't seen anyone that works as hard on the court as he does. We could use more players like him. He is definitely a fan favorite. He always seems to be on the floor after every loose ball. His enthusiasm rubs off on his teammates.
  6. Rat, Even though I'm an NSU and NSIC fan, it's not as bad as you think. To date the NSIC men have won only 12 of the 38 games played vs. the NCC (32%). The NSIC women have won 16 of 35 (46%). I actually think both leagues (with the exception of a few teams) are down this year at least to this point. In the NSIC for example, NSU starts 3 sophomores and 3 of the next 4 coming off the bench are 2 freshman and a sophomore. Southwest is starting 2 freshman. Duluth has 9 freshman, sophomores on the roster - only 3 upperclassmen.
  7. Even though I am an NSIC fan, I don't believe that they are at the same level as the top NCC teams. The gap is narrowing a little more each year. It seems that 2 or 3 of the NSIC teams can compete on the offensive side of the ball but are not up to NCC standards on the defensive side of the ball.
