  1. If your #2 players have to play in the fourth quarter of a tight game, it's a problem. That type of situation should be taking care of off the field with conditioning. Players should be able to play the entire game on one side of the ball without problem. I was not trying to infer that the Bison did not have great reserves as well. It was coming from my experience at UND and what I have seen with most D2 teams. UND in the past has wasted a lot of talent. My personal feeling is that UND biggest problem in the future with be with recruiting. NDSU will in most cases get the athletes they want out of ND and MN because the D1 titile.
  2. The Bubble Screen is a good play. It is an easy completion of 2 yards or more. If the play breaks great, but the way I see UND does not run it as a game breaking play. If it was ment to be a game breaker UND would not run it as much as they do. It just might work out that way sometimes, but as a coach its like a long hand-off. If you gain 5 yards good, if you gain 80 great.
  3. First off the fourth quarter statement is nothing, to tell you the truth I don't even understand the point. Injuries, hmmmm Well when I was at UND several of the best players never saw the field. UND gets invited walk ons (not try out athletes) that often times are better then the scholarship athletes. I hope this has changed with Lennon, but RT lets some great football players sit or walk away. I would say that between 2 and 5 of the best players at there position used to ride pine unless an injury happened. It was the case with Dietrich Flesch. The most consistant O lineman UND had would have never touched the field if it were not for an injury. When Mike George was at UND his younger brother Matt came in with my recruiting class as a non-scholarship invite. He was easily the best ILB of that class, and better than his brother in my opinion, but quit because they would not give him the credit he deserved. All he did was out perform almost all other LBs in practice and was still stuck behind all the scholarship athletes on the depth chart. I hope Dale Lennon does not allow that crap anymore. With this rant I am saying that UND has depth at many positions. Most D2 schools do not have this luxery. Injuries happen to all teams, some more than others, but its part of the game. UND has many players that could easily fill in and even take over a starting role without much drop off. It's not worth dropping the Sioux/Bison game over some what ifs and maybe's!
  4. I understand that to a point, but this type of crap has gone on at UND for a long time. The athletic department, along with the school is not nearly as well run as they would like everyone to think. PR Garbage! Would it be possible to sell it as a blackout event. If it doesn't sell out, or reach a certain number of tickets sold the game would be a blackout in Grand Forks. I think they could sell the tickets that way and keep everyone informed.
  5. I don't agree with that statement. Obviously NDSU would have some advantage in the situation, but football is a game of extreme emotion. UND could easily get up for, compete, and win this type of game. Everyone I look at on this board seems to think that if UND plays, it will be a loss. That is just not true. How does it hurt UND to add an extra game to the schedule? NDSU played one more regular season game than UND did. (and lets hope several less post-season games) As far as the SDSU/USD game, It might be great, but both of those teams are not very good on a regular basis. That does make a difference, because neither team has really done much of anything for the past, well as long as I can remember.
  6. UND is starting to really piss me off. I have been calling and emailing all week to find out if the game would be on Satellite. Trying to get coordinates so I could attempt to organize something in Houston. They finally release the information Thursday evening! UND needs to get there crap together.
  7. I will call you flat ignorant if you don't think the Bison/Sioux game is extremely important for the schools and the state. It tells me that you have never been directly involved in the game.
  8. My point is this if you lose to the Bison (which may or may not happen) you will still make the playoffs if you beat the other teams you play in conference. NDSU would be in, if they beat SCSU. Because both Pitt State and Emporia lost. If the team is good, and you have some confidence in the consistency of the program. You would not let this amazing tradition die.
  9. I got this information because I contacted Pitt State. The game will be on Satellite. This is from Programming at KSN. Galaxy 3 KU Band Digital Transponder 15 Slot A 11981 Horizontal In DVB Mode Assemble rate is 4.88 FEC is 3/4 mpeg program #1 or Channel #1 AC3 Dolby Audio He did say they receiver must be digital capable.
  10. UND needs to play NDSU and they are a bunch of wimps if they don't. I played football at UND and think its weak that they would stop the rivalry over this BS. So you drop the Crookston game and play NDSU each year, if your a good team you make the playoffs even if you lose the game. The Scholarship issue is crap as well, you can still compete and even win (NDSU did it this year) NDSU missed the playoffs because they choked against SCSU not because they played Montana and UC Davis.
  11. I am not sure, I watched the game at a bar in Houston. I think I had similar problem in 2001 as well.
  12. Thanks! I am working on it but it sucks that I have to get the run around from UND and go get the information from Pitt State. UND should have taken care of the situation!
  13. The game needs to be on Satellite for all the people that don't live in and around the Grand Forks area. I am still working on getting coordinates but the Athletic office and Alumni Association have not been all that helpful.
