Like Cameron Berg or Garrett Pyke -- both had their best seasons ever statistically this year since transferring to UND from UNO and UAF.Culture? Blame Berry? Systems? Those coaches didn't yell enough?
Good points! I wasn’t the one for screaming at the players just trying to get them to play up in the big games.

Maybe it’s not the players but the system , Johnson did ok at OSU and Moore did fine at quinnipiac

In 2017 we lost to BU in the Fargo Regional to a very questionable offsides call. This call resulted in a Rule change.
In 2021 we lost a 5 overtime game to UMD in the Fargo Regional. UMD did not have to play the first game because Michigan tested positive for Covid. This situation also resulted in a Rule change if it ever happens again.
We have had some tough luck in our regionals, usually something that has never happened before.... happens.
Berry has had a lot of firsts in his 8 year stint. You can blame bounces, that’s hockey’s etc but one common denominator is what ?

We're talking about pixie dust, magic spells, etc.... motivation. Our boys play at UND. They understand our history. They understand our standards. They absolutely want to win. Sometimes hockey happens and the other team plays better. It really is that simple.
Not spinning anything and I don’t get paid 500,000 a year to fix it but Berry does, funny how a team with all these advantages and culture struggles the same way every year but what changes and what stays the same ? Hint , players and the head coach.

Maybe Berry doesn’t put enough emphasis into this big games , staying even keel and his team shows up flat at times , (Nashville , Las Vegas any Nchc games at the Xcel. Not sure because I’m not in the locker room but in his 8 year run that’s is MO like it or not. Not saying you yell and scream but man try something different. He coached with Hakstol so he saw what it took to play well at the end of the year.

One common denominator is Berry , can he not motivate the troops, I know he is not playing but he puts a game plan together and get all the guys pulling in the same direction and that hasn’t happened much under his watch in the post season for sure.

Like you said, going caveman on your team will probably scare away some high-end talent; & being too soft encourages more uninspiring play because there are no consequences. Every problem for a coach has a solution, unless the problem lies with the coach himself &/or his staff.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Just want the team to be playing their best at the end of the year not coming out flat and playing poorly , which happens a lot under this coach.

I used to look foward to the post season now I just wait to be disappointed.

Been a season ticket holder since 1984 and in all off Gino’s, Blais and Hakstol years I never heard once that the und hockey team seems soft and now about every year somebody brings that up. The only player that showed some fire last night was 28.

It’s just been lather , rinse, repeat for the last 7 years , Berry just can’t motivate his players in the post season.

If it’s not coaching why have we been so poor defensively with changes in the roster.
