Hey Ryan, its Nick. Thought my user name on USCHO was a little boring

Minnesota, tomorrow night
Other than that, Sconnie

Shephard just keeps standing over the bad ice, scraping it with a stick. Never quite seen anything like it.

Near the end of the period Taylor and Murray were wresting in the corner, they got separated and then Schneider came over to mix it up a little. Murray and Schneider both got 2 minutes, Taylor got 4.

My tv reception is good too, but there's this annoying noise coming out of the speakers. Oh, wait, that's Woog.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember in that fateful Saturday game that, not only did I get my first Sioux hockey jersey, when the sioux went ahead and the Goofs pulled the goalie... didn't Dave Spehar knock the net off on purpose to prevent an ENG? ...which we got later anyway
SPEHAR...SPEHAR...SPEHAR...BULLSH...
That was a perfect ending to the game. Spehar did knock the goal off, but it wasn't intentional. He just fell and slammed into the empty net, which was very comical And the chant that came with it was one of the loudest I had ever heard. Watching the game later on MSC (this is when they replayed the games midday during the week), you could hear it clear as day. Mazzaco and Reid even shut up (a miracle in itself) so they could hear what the fans were saying.

March 15, 1998, UND versus the hated Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Not to get too picky, but I believe that game was actually on February 15th, 1998. At least that's what I have written down on my tape of the game That game is the single best time I've ever had at a sporting event. I was sitting on the glass in the student section to the right of the box (even have a few pictures that were taken from the other side of the arena, possibly by PCM?). I have never been anywhere as loud as it was when Jason Blake scored the goal to tie it up.
As far as new arena vs old, I don't think the new arena will ever be able to match the crazy intensity of the old arena. No more standing, subdued swearing, lower % of students, and the division of the student sections have eliminated that possibility. However, I was there for the playoff series vs DU last year, and it was proven that the New Ralph can be loud and fun. Good times either way.

Other scores:
5-1 Wisconsin over Mankato in the third
Northeastern beats BC 3-0
-
Around the WCHA:
BU-Minnesota tied at 1
UW-Mankato tied at 1
-
Nice short, little brawl in Mankato. Some D-man from UW came off the bench and got 5 minutes and a game misconduct. That game is tied at 2 with about 12 minutes to go in the second.
-
Man, this St. Cloud color guy is hysterical. Talk about a fan getting to call a game.
Other WCHA scores:
Minn-Bu tied at 4 6:20 to go in the 2nd
UW-MSUM tied at 2 1st intermission
UMD over BG 5-1 in the 2nd
-
Glen Taylor financed the Mankato arena. Why does BSU need a new stadium?? They're not in the WCHA yet...(nor do I think they should be)
Taylor financed Mankato's new basketball/volleyball arena, but not the hockey arena. I believe the MW Civic Center was built with Mankato sales tax money.

A buddy and I executed the road trip to Florence two years ago. Good times, everyone should try it To give anyone interested an indication on the time involved, after the game we took off and drove about 5 or 6 hours to a town just south of St. Louis where we crashed for the night. Took off at 9am Sunday and made it to Grand Forks around 1am. That included a flat tire and a stop at Ozarkland (very poor-man's Wall Drug). So its definitely could be a three-day trip, especially if you take off early Friday (reading and review day anyway, right?).

Guess deferring to the second half was a good idea
