  1. On KFAN they were talking about how FSN will be broadcasting it on its "Alternate" Channel. I would check out GPL.com and see what that all means for you and your provider.

  2. Perposturous statement of the day heard on KFAN this week by one Paul Allen.

The Gophers will go into Grand Forks and win the series. They will then win 3 games in the Final Five to make the tourney.

I love listening to PA, but I think he has been drinking to much of the maroon and gold koolaid. :)

I listened to this air live and he was stating it as a hypothetical. I love PA and he can be the greatest Homer ever but he was more so just stating a conversation point or "lighting up the phonelines". It is the "Sports Abyss."

NOTE: Nice to see the thread getting back on track. THANKS DAGIES!!

  3. I always wonder if some of these one-bid league tournaments aren't rigged to try to get 2 teams dancing?

Gonzaga is obviously head and shoulders above anyone in the WCC. Oh but wait, Saint Mary's destroys them in the championship game? How convenient...

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if Wright State "somehow" pulls it out against Butler, another team that would likely get an at-large bid.

It would make a lot of sense. You need the most noteriety in the tournement so that you can hype it. "Best field of 64 ever," kind of a thing.

  4. I enjoy wearing all of my jerseys and feel that with many students possibly gone, it would be tough to pull it off. As gopherz said, it does make the other fans stand out even more and there will probably be many in attendance. I think we should pick to wear the black jerseys for both games and have a black out if anything to do something different.

Black out would be Awesome!! Would the team be allowed to wear Black at home. They never have, but is it allowed? If we go to Three Sunday Black out, Team and Fans!!!!

  5. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo. Let's do a "Green-out".

They tried the Green Out a few years ago on a Saturday night game and it looked stupid because UND does not specify that it has to be Kelly Green for Sioux apparel. There were 15 shades of green from sea foam to forest and it really didn't have any look of unity.

That's what i would like as well though.

  6. I corrected myself.

It is a state issue, but the SBoHE is at no fault for Chapman's unethical actions. How could they be if he was hiding his actions from them? What a joke of a witch hunt, motivated by the nickname.

Who's job would be the oversite of Expenses in a state run University. Any of the too many in the state of ND?

  7. Zach Parise was on KFAN in the cities today and here is a link to the podcast if any of you want to hear it

    http://kfan.com/cc-common/podcast/single_p...FAN_PADubay.xml

It was a great interview. PA asked if he still followed the fighting sioux? No hesitation,"Yeah my boys got a big sweep in CO last weekend and i am pretty sure that they locked up home ice for the playoffs. Those were probably some of the best 2 years of my life at UND. They do a fantastic job getting guys ready for the NHL and people know it."

Keep in mind, this means he was following the Sioux either from Vancouver or after the Gold game amidst the celebration.

  8. im not against dell starting but i think the smart choice the way the team is playing in front of BE is to play him

Agreed. My comment was geared more to Dell showing some really good stuff, and also struggling when we needed him. I think there are 3 or 4 teams in the WCHA right now that would KILL for him.

  9. Playing at home has not fared well for Dell. When he's played good they were away game starts.

Dell came in one night against ??? when we were down 3-0 and he gave us a legit shot at a win. If i recall, we lost 3-2. Wisconsin is who i think it was. ONly to debunk the at home theory. He made KEY saves in that game.

  10. UND must sweep Tech LIKELY

Mankato needs at least 1 point vs SCSU LIKELY

UNH needs at least 1 point vs BC LIKELY

    Other games to watch

These outcomes seem to help the Sioux in the widest variety of scenarios (that is, not just those in which UND sweeps and is fighting for a #4 ranking):

    Mankato sweeping SCSU SLIM CHANCE

    Denver sweeping CC VERY POSSIBLE

    Maine sweeping Mass MODERATELY POSSIBLE

    Alabama-Huntsville sweeping Bemidji St UNLIKELY

UNH sweeping BC UNLIKELY(with BC still fighting for #1 or 2 Jerry will have his boys on point.)

We may move up after this weekend, but let's go out and leave no questions by pounding the puppies!!!

  11. Hi all. I live in Bemidji and will be selecting season tickets for the new BSU arena. I know many of you went through a similar process and had to make similar decisions when they were building The Ralph.

We're a family of four with two boys in hockey. Choices basically are "silver" totaling $2100, "bronze" totaling $1700 or non-donation (pink) totaling $1300. Here is a seating chart. Besides the obvious better seats, the silver provides free parking at the arena, along with a few more perks than bronze. With non-donation, you don't get any perks (ie football tickets, etc).

So I wanted to know, if any of you could select your seats again, what would you do different? With our boys getting older (one entering Squirts) we'll be eventually traveling more, etc. Any favorite sections within the silver, bronze or pink?

    Thanks!

Do not underestimate the value of your own car up close to the building when everyone else is waiting for shuttle. Its northern MN and it gets Damn cold when the wind whips at 10 on Friday night.

Its even worse after a Beaver loss to the Sioux!! :D

Congrats on the decision to let your boys love a great sport though.

  12. Nine different Sioux players have earned weekly WCHA honors this season. The only two-time winner so far is Corban Knight.

UND in weekly honors this season

Oct. 13 -- Mike Cichy, WCHA rookie of the week

Oct. 20 -- Chay Genoway, WCHA defensive player of the week

Nov. 10 -- Evan Trupp, WCHA offensive player of the week

Dec. 1 -- Danny Kristo, WCHA rookie of the week

Jan. 12 -- Jason Gregoire, WCHA offensive player of the week

Jan. 12 -- Corban Knight, WCHA rookie of the week

Feb. 16 -- Chris VandeVelde, WCHA offensive player of the week

Feb. 16 -- Corban Knight, WCHA rookie of the week

Feb. 23 -- Brett Hextall, WCHA offensive player of the week

Feb. 23 -- Brad Eidsness, WCHA defensive player of the week

Seems like so long ago. I was optimistic about him still at this point in the year. Now I think he needs some time in the weight room.

  13. Why didn't UND do this like 20 years ago? Giving the tribes a piece of the action might have been the one thing that could've saved the nickname.

Now, basically you're asking them to let UND use their name without getting anything in return. I can see why they're miffed.

So it is about money and not Racism or defamation of their heritage? All of the other noble things people are trying to say.

  14. Did you notice the section titled "Fratt Party" - probably not the best title, given his up and down road with the team/school the past 12 months.

FRATT PARTY: Junior F Matt Frattin (Edmonton, Alberta) scored his first two goals of the season on Saturday, collecting both in a four-minute span late in the first period.

Frattin's second goal came shorthanded, the first shorthanded tally of his career and UND's third of the season.

He also led all players with a season-high seven shots on goal.

Weren't they in the Third? I swear they were scoreless after one.

  15. I do not want this to fester all weekend. Lets get it settled first 5 min of Friday. We may lose a couple guys and so might they. Then we can start with trying like hell to get as many points as possible.

That said, I am going to the Saturday game with my gf and two family members. The family are SCSU alums. This is my first ever sioux game in an opponents Barn. I am rediculously excited. I will be cheering loud, anyone else there, feel free to join me.

    GO SIOUX!!!!

    prediction, 3 pts.
