  1. Keep speculating. Until your foo foo Pres. and lackey AD want to take your athletic program to the mext level you had better concentrate on the *ncc. I'm getting tired of all this s&!t talk from the undies. STEP UP OR SHUT UP. What else more needs to be said. "I wouldn't necessarily call it a higher level, just a different level", Roger Thomas "It's no longer a level playing field, so we will not continue the rivalry", Roger Thomas "The man speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He is an idiot. Not only is he an idiot, he is becoming a caracature of himself--and that's always sad", ndsubison Idiot. Period.
  2. Sorry but I have to get ready to head out to a SOLD -OUT DIVISION I game in Montana this wknd. Have fun with your shellacking of Augustana this wknd and best of luck with the Dac-10 in the future...... und2 whioux "keep reminiscing" Step UP or shut up GO BISON!!! 2005 Great West Champions
  3. With all credit to those teams, they would not destroy the 2005 Bison. Everybody knows that lateral speed will kill an option offense. For reference, check last years Bison/Carson-Newman game. I go to the games, you do not. Stick to following the whioux. That is your obvious strength GO BISON!!@ 2005 Great West Champions
  4. I really wish you would EDUCATE YOURSELF on this one. Yes, NDSU was 2-8. What you fail to recognize is that NDSU did not "just change divisions" and become 8-3 our fist year of I-AA. Check our roster and you will see a $hitload of DI recruits. I hope you are not still paying on your student loan from that fine UND education. That, my friend, is ignorant. Let me help you: With the move to DI, NDSU made a 110% COMMITMENT to being playoff eligible by 2008. That involves revruiting DI athletes, getting DI coaching, and getting a lot of money (i.e. Team Makers/alumni contributions, etc.) to make the wheels turn. We didn't "just go DI". If the above mentioned schools (PSU, GVSU) had the resources and the wherewithal to do the same thing that the Bison are they might be succesful, to their credit. There is a firm belief and an even firmer commitment to making this work. Probably foreign language to the big fish in an ever increasingly-small pond.....................
  5. und2 would most certainly hold their own against quite a few I-AA teams. However, against the elite teams they would come away realizing how much they were lacking overall. Not a jab--just reality. I have been watching the Bison for well over 20 yrs and I will say right now without a doubt that this yrs team is the most talented that I have EVER seen. Size, depth, SPEED. AGRESSIVENESS. It's all there. If you don't believe me buy a ticket and come watch us play Nicholls State next week. OR, watch the Montana State game this saturday. It's on statewide TV in ND & MT. I believe the whioux play augustana
  6. You cannot be serious. I will probably be lambasted on this board as being a Bison homer but--seriously--have you personally been to ANY Bison games this year? Have you noticed that the athletes are bigger, stronger and FASTER? It is not a facade. It is most certainly a higher level of competition and to think that UND would win the Great West is absurd. They would most likely finish 4th or 5th. Seriously. NDSU, Poly, Davis, and I dare say SDSU would all beat UND head to head this year. I would also say that NDSU & Poly would handle the sioux convincingly. GO BISON!!! 2005 Great West Champions
  7. How much do UM Crookston game tickets go for these days? At least Mayville State isn't that far away. Shouldn't be too much of a strain on the athletic budget
  8. marketing 101: don't people have to be interested in something before they buy into it? Big fish, small pond: I see a parallel, do you?
  9. I couldn't tell you who, in fact, set those MSUM "games" up but it was clearly an embarassment to both programs. I went to both and actually thought the first one (72-6 or something) was kind of funny . The second (80-0) was really bad. I actually felt sorry for the MSUM players and left the game early. If my memory serves, I think it was originally set up for a 3 game series. After the second game, I believe it was actually NDSU who called MSUM and essentially said "thanks but no thanks" as neither program was getting anything positive from the series. I also thought the idea was for MSUM to take the guarantee money and apply it to schollies, facility upgrades, etc for their (then upcoming) move to DII. From what I can tell, they've done neither with said money. Maybe Alfonso Scandrett can help them turn that corner as they are clearly a sorry program right now.
  10. Winning is indeed primary. Who you are beating makes it even sweeter. Referring to one of my previous posts, "I guess it's all about aspirations then, isn't it?".
  11. We live in a world of instant-gratification. Did NDSU go DI just to say "we're DI and therefore we're cool"? Hell no. Are we going to become the next Michigan overnight? Nope. We are talking about a 10-15 yr process here. Plenty of room for the naysayers but those that believe know better. Face it--people up here (in general and by upbringing) don't like change. NDSU is stepping up to the forefront and being proactive. Even if we were to get into the Big Sky (wishful thinking), could we beat Montana, Eastern Washington--even Montana State, consistently? Probably not. Those are some tough programs, come to think of it. All around-not just football. Could we be consistently competitive? Absolutely. NDSU is in a seriously aspirational phase right now and what's wrong with that? Yes I am biased but, to be objective, they should be applauded--not ridiculed. The whole state of ND should be supportive of this and if UND would follow suit I believe it would be beneficial to everybody. GO BISON!! 2005 Great West Champions
