  1. No, Comcast and Charter have actually been competing to buy Time Warner, Comcast stole it away a few weeks ago. I don't think that Charter and Comcast get along at all. I believe that Charter actually does the games for St. Cloud. Maybe Charter is the one that actually refused to let Midco have it and Comcast got blamed, or maybe I heard the name wrong. Either way, Midco wanted to do exactly the same thing as they did for Duluth last week and they were not allowed. They couldn't get rights to broadcast.

Charter airs the games and owns the broadcast rights. Charter isn't in the Twin Cities, but Comcast airs the Charter feed there for SCSU home games. No idea as to why they wouldn't charge Midco and let them broadcast the game.

  2. UND is what??? 20+ and 4 in at home in their last 20+ home games? I'm just saying I don't need $10, but if someone is willing give it away, I'll take it. ;)

I will be at the games this weekend and I will take that bet. I don't actually think SCSU will sweep, but 10 dollars to win 89? My kind of odds.

  3. Awesome! Thanks! Anyone else going? Wheres the best pre-game and post game places to go in St. Cloud?

Full disclosure (as many of you know): I am a SCSU fan and am an alum of both of these schools so this is always a fun one for me. In any event, I'll be making the trip on Friday with a Sioux fan. Can hardly contain my excitement this week.

A number of downtown bars have shuttles that will take you to and from the Hockey Center. Among them: McRudy's, Howie's, and MC's Dugout. There are more, I just can't remember which ones. As others have noted, MC's Dugout and The Red Carpet (and adjacent martini lounge) are popular spots. Also, I would suggest the White Horse and/or House of Pizza for pregame food and drinks.

There are usually a large contingent of Sioux fans in St. Cloud for this series, you'll have a good time.

  4. Anyone else going? What side are the Sioux shooting twice to? Thinking about getting tickets tonight. Never been to the National Center before. Should be the 101 end right?

That's correct, the Sioux will shoot twice at the west end goal/Section 101 end.

  5. I just got done reading the emails and the president of SCSU sounds like a bumbling buffoon. I don't think those emails shed a very positive light on SCSU as an institution and it makes them look like a desperate second rate university.

The end result makes SCSU look like a "like-minded institution".

  6. As far as I know, if a player transfers schools because their program ended, they don't have to wait out a year. So any UAH player will be able to finish the season with the Chargers, then drop right into any other school that wants them next season without having to sit out a year.

    This is correct.

  7. Perhaps somebody from the media will ask where they will get funding to refurbish the NCC, as well as support a D1 hockey team in the future, since they seem so apathetic about sports on the campus. I think Gino deserves a kick in the stones if he had anything to do with this.

I agree. If Gino was in anyway a part of this, you should go find an old man who played for the Sioux, brought back 3 NCAA championships to Grand Forks as head coach and also served as UND's athletic director so you can kick him in the balls. Classy.

  8. I just hope that the NCHC doesn't feel like they have to add Stearns County Community College. them. If they get in they lower the quality of the NCHC... They are not a like minded school.

Is there any chance you could clarify your position on this matter? Some of the others and I just can't determine where you stand.

  9. A large percentage of us also live in Colorado; don't forget that. SCSU is a joke and they have consistently thrown us under the bus when it came to the Sioux name so I am all for a little extra travel. last year there was just as many Sioux fans in Colorado Springs for the CC series as tyhere was Tiger fans; i was even able to buy a green beer!!

What's your point? Last I checked 2 of 3 CO teams are in the NCHC and AFA is not joining. None of this changes the fact that a large number of UND grads live in or around the Twin Cities/Minnesota.

  10. I have two tickets available for Saturdays game vs St. Cloud. My wife bought me Vikings Tickets and we are going to leave Saturday so we won't be able to go.

These are GREAT seats as they are located 2 rows from the Ice right in front of the crease where the Sioux shoot twice, they are also Aisle Seats, so it's easy to get in and out of them.

    Section 107

    Row B

    Seats 1,2

    $100.00 Total

    Shoot me an e-mail. paul.merkens@und.edu

  11. have two lower bowl tickets available for Friday and Saturday in corner where Sioux shoot twice. will trade for similar seats for another series preferably wisconsin, or will sell. respond and provide your cell # if interested.

I'd be interested in taking these off your hands. Mostly, I'm looking for 2 Saturday seats, however I could possibly take both nights. 701-212-5980.
