Both checks from behind against the Dogs. One was a good call, but the other guy turned into it. Geris was maliciously run and no call.

WORST OFFICIATING EVER!!!!! Geris is run from behind and hurt; NO CALL!!!!! They called 2 MAJORS on the Dogs for softer hits than that, and the players were fine!

UMD now takes over the bullseye position in the USCHO and INCH Power rankings. We'll take it though...I can't remember the last time UMD was ranked #1 in the country. I'm glad most of the pollsters could figure out the formula (UMD>Notre Dame)+(Notre Dame>BC)+(East Coast Bias)=(UMD>BC).

To your defense, Kyle Nixon started in goal tonight, and he seemed really sloppy, coming off the post early on a couple goals, and just seemed uneasy in the crease. The Dogs got a shorty from Stapleton at 14:28 of the second, and a couple of quick goals at the end of second to turn a 4-2 game into a 7-2 blowout. Nixon seemed really deflated after many of the later goals, ripping off his chinstrap after on of them. The Dogs pumped in 7 goals on 34 shots, and carried the play from the first intermission on. I the first period, we saw the Mankato team that you had up at REA last weekend. The ice still seemed tilted, but they were able to neutralize the Dogs forecheck with a lot of chipping off the glass. When they did get an opportunity, they buried it.

wow 26 penalties for 52 minutes. 15 for the Sioux and 11 for the Goofs. there were 36 penalties called at the DECC for 98 minutes total. 19 against MSU, 17 against tDogs. We had Marco Hunt (new guy?) as our ref. The penalties were mostly for coincidental fighting, with a 10 min misconduct to Rankin for a cheap shot to the head of Geris (who has a history of concussions....cheap??!). Also Toll of MSU hit after the whistle. Did MSU play as cheap when they were up there? Of course they weren't down six goals then... were the refs calling some minor crap against the Sioux, and not against the Goofers. It seems to me that this is what some Sioux fans seem to be POed about, more than the sheer volume of penalties being called this season.
