  1. is it me, or does is seem like we're letting princeton control the play? We don't seem to be playing like we did at the start of the game.

Princeton controlling play and winning all the battles to the loose puck. Sioux need to pick it up.

  2. Unreal that one person got all four games correct.

Actually I had all 4 right as well but the glitch in the system prevented me from entering the contest. Even had all the scores right on, saves, penalties, attendence, weather conditions, and beer sales at all venues.

Misplaced my picks for today but should be able to find them later tonight. Pretty sure that I'll continue with my perfect bracket.

  3. Princeton won the ECAC title. Another member of that conference just dismantled a WCHA team that UND split with very recently. That should give everyone a sense of the quality of UND's Saturday opponent.

No doubt about it. It will be no cakewalk tomorrow. I trust the Sioux coaching staff will have everyone ready to go. The Sioux will need to play the full 60 minutes to advance.

  4. Be careful when reading that joke of a blog. It is one the most unobjectionable ones out there. I can't decide what's worse, trying to decipher the grammar or constantly reading about cupcakes, the Gophers, officiating conspiracies, or conspiracies in general against the Sioux. It's not a good site if you are looking for good college hockey information. I guess that's why I don't visit that site anymore.

    Lighten up Francis.

  5. not much love for the sioux but that's not a bad thing. we'll fly under the radar.

No love for the Gophers. I think they have as good a shot as anyone to come out of that region. I'll be cheering for them vs. BC. Love to see another all WCHA FF.

  6. Hmmm... there are no weird characters in your username and I was able to submit a bracket with a nearly identical name. Look for a PM from me, and I'll do a little digging on my end (I wonder if there could be an issue with special characters in passwords?)

Same problem for me and I HAVE ALL THE CORRECT WINNERS :silly:

  7. That goalie was none other than Tony Quesada. If memory serves me right, didn't he toss his cookies right on the ice at some point early in the game? You think that kid was nervous?

He did but it was in the third period when it happened. New goalie came in until the next whistle and then TQ was back on the ice. Personally I think he did it to keep the Sioux out of his crease. Man, they were just swarming back then. Also, the kid was exhausted which I think contributed to him tossing his chicken.

I just don't want a repeat of the next nights 1-0 loss to DU. Sioux absolutely dominated that game and DU wins on a goal late in the third. Still remember the Parise, Bochenski, Murray line just buzzing at the end of that game but couldn't get anything by Berkhol.

  8. There are no gimmies from here on in. Every game will be a battle. I was at the HC game when the Sioux were number 1. Parise line scored like 7 seconds in the game but we won only 3-0. HC goalie stood on his head and Sioux didn't score their second goal until late in the second period (or maybe even the third). They will need to play all 60 minutes to advance.

I like the fact that the Sioux are not getting the attention they have in the last few years. Haven't heard one of the "experts" say UND is gonna win it all (or even advance to the FF). Oshie, Chorney, Finley, Kaip, Radke, JPL, Bina, Duncan () know this is their swan song. No way do those guys not show up to play and make sure everyone else is ready as well.

  9. The talking heads have Picked DU to get out of the Midwest regional.

Fantastic. Norton is the kiss of death. Sioux getting no respect. Time to put the chip on the shoulder and play some North Dakota hockey. One game at a time. Can't wait for this weekend.

  10. I agree that Miami is the weakest of the 4 number ones. Can't understand how the two top seeds get sent out east. I think Michigan got the best draw. After that, they all look pretty even. UM-BC game should be a good one.

They are all going to be tough from here on in. Hope the Sioux get a great following in Madison.

Is this region Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun??

  11. BC up 4-0, Northern Mich beat ND, and Princeton beat Harvard; looks like Wisco has backed its way in and Mankato is out.

The fact that WI gets in over Mankato is reason enough to change the pairwise. Mankato had the better season and deserve a bid.

  12. It always amazes me at the negativity on this board after a Sioux loss. Frankly, it is why I spend less and less time here other than to get game updates. The attacks on players, the excuses, the whinning. Hell, I could watch Springer if I wanted that.

The Sioux lost to a tough DU team yesterday on one helluva goal. Again, they have played fantastic hockey this year, are a lock for the NCAA tournament, and have a chance to be one of four top seeds. They have two Hobey Baker finalists, last years winner, a class coaching staff, first rate facilities, and THE best fan base in the Country.

Frankly I don't care where the Sioux are seeded or where they get sent. I'm gonna enjoy watching some great college hockey and supporting the best program in the country. Personally, I have faith that the big trophy ends up back in GF when all is said and done.

So the rest of you, roll back the stone and look inside. This is the time of year for new life. Today is another game. Get on board or get out of the way, the road to Denver ain't gonna be easy but it sure is gonna be fun.

  13. Well, after watching the 2nd period, I've changed my attitude. I completely agree with all the people who were pining for the Sioux to lose before the playoffs. Clearly, that great loss we had against Tech has got these boys completely focused and playing their best hockey. Taking this attitude one step further, I would like to be the first to say that was a great 2nd period by the Sioux. I particularly thought we did a great job giving up that goal, losing faceoffs, letting Denver forwards skate freely into the zone, and not clearing the puck.

Looks like your positive attitude really paid off.

  14. Sioux can't let DU get them away from their game. Gwozdickhead was spouting after the beat down in GF that he was disappointed in how his players reacted. Seems like that means he wants them to take cheap shots at every opportunity. If we keep our heads, we win this thing as we are the better team.
