  1. Then I would guess that you haven't been to many games. The come-from-behind victories over Duluth and BC at the start of the season were not dead. The series against St. Cloud was not dead. The Alaska series wasn't dead. Or maybe I'm attending Sioux home games in an alternate universe.
  2. It's not just the CC game. Every game I've been to this year, with the exeption of Minnesota, has been dead. I always sit in the upper level student area so maybe I'm missing out on the "rowdiness" that takes place in the lower student section.

Win or lose at UMD, I think the Tech series is going to be a sleeper. The student section might try to get a little rowdy, but I guarantee the rest of the arena will be dead.

  3. I think the great atmosphere we all know and love at the old Ralph (at least in it's last 5 years or so) can be attributed to the "re-birth" of the program under Dean Blais.  I think this is what most fans choose to remember about the old Ralph.  It wasn't always that way, as I remember attending lots of games in Gino's last few years that didn't have much but a bunch of green and white seats staring at me from across the rink.

I attended UND from 91-96 and lived thru those lean years. I'd still take that atmosphere over the current atmosphere any day. There weren't as many students there but they were louder and rowdier.

  4. The atmosphere at the old Ralph was 100% better than the new Ralph. The student section was rowdy and the games were a lot more fun to attend. We now have the nicest facility in the NCAA but not the most enjoyable. I've attended games at Mankato and St. Cloud and wish the Ralph could have that kind of atmosphere again.

  5. Has anyone else read the back page of the 2/13 Dakota Student? What a joke. Most of the letters are from disgruntled UNA fans.

The one that made me laugh out loud was the person complaining about the St. Cloud hockey game at The Ralph. The writer stated that he/she had attended games at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud and never experienced profanity to the extreme that he/she experienced that night. Please. St. Cloud has the rowdiest student section in the WCHA.

I think the whole sportsmanship debate is a bunch of BS. There are more important things for people to bitch about.

  6. I remember seeing Baker sitting in the student section at hockey games many times. I don't know the politics behind his departure but he seemed to have the student's best interests in mind.

  7. Did this moron even watch the game?  That was one heck of a game in the end.  To bad the Sioux couldn't have scored in the end to send it to OT.  That would have been awesome.

Lennon said that if UND would have scored, they were going for two. THAT would have been awesome.
