I’ll drop this here. Head coach Brad Berry on the noise.
So you heard it from Barry himself they came here to win national championships how can you win a national championship if you’ve only won one game since 2016 in the national playoffs 200 wins means nothing without winning national championships for all you guys who love the 200 Winmark

We need blue chippers - Imagine our title run without Boeser. Also it is hard to understand how with this team getting their butts handed to them on Friday we then come out with our Saturday performance. Something is missing from Berry's team and it looks a lot like grit. It doesn't even look like the same team - especially on defense - that swept Denver. How did our D get so sloppy all of a sudden - especially with an extra week to heal?
And how many years have I been talking about blue chippers and getting Kraft for?

Reminds me of the stat that UND played four NCAA tournament games under Berry in the 2016 title run and has played only four more NCAA tournament games in total since then.
And one win since

It was fun. UND has a hospitality room with refreshments and a great chance to visit with like-minded fans and meet the parents of the players and not saying that things can't change, but based on conversations I was in, I came away feeling confident we were not going to lose any of our young stars - which proved true.
What kind of resfreshmens

Remind me again how Chaves is preventing it?
He is on record saying “I want to sit back take a look and evaluate the landscape. Then think philosophical and maybe form a committee with Erik leading it! “

And Eaglestaff isnt leaving he said he is chasing his uncles record and Omot... I would be surprised if he is still here next. I hope he is because next year would be fun!
It would be nice if Chaves would allow us to get the NL going so we can get Omot a Corvette

That is a false choice. When Boston College won 3 titles in 5 years (2008-2012), they did not have mediocre regular seasons during their title years. That being said, there were people on here who argued it was better to have our Frozen Four appearances than those 3 titles because BC failed to make the tournament the other two years (2009 and 2011). Which I felt was a preposterous argument and the height of homerism and sugar-coating failure.
Bottom line: Successful regular seasons make it easier to win nattys. And nattys are what people remember and are what builds a program's national reputation. Is that a good thing or even a healthy thing? I don't know. But it's an undeniable fact and we can't ignore it and tell ourselves it doesn't matter. We are falling behind in the natty race and we need to take the sport by the neck like we used to.
It seems here people are content just winning regular season games and ok with missing playoffs or one and dine

What would you rather have 200 wins or three or four titles?

When you've been as successful as Sandelin has in building that program and bringing it to the vaunted standards they've achieved, it's easier to tolerate a couple of down years. Even around here, people weren't calling for Berry's head a few years after the title because he just won the title. The problem is, the title was 8(!) years ago now and we've won 1 NCAA game since.
2016 4 wins
2017 0 wins
2018 Missed tourney
2019 Missed tourney
2020 Covid
2021 1 win (against AIC)
2022 0 wins
2023 Missed tourney
Berry's first year, with Hak's roster, was the only outlier season among a lot of seasons of basically no success in the NCAA tourney. Of the last six seasons, Berry is just as likely to not make the tourney as he is getting in, and when we do get in, we can hardly win a game.
Gotta love facts

In terms of their history, absolutely. But then I remember the days when there were only 13 teams and the top 2 east teams and top west team from regular season qualified and crossover games decided other 5 state participants. Don't think any teams west of highway 83 at that time.
I wouldn’t mind going back to that

When it comes to the hockey in the state of ND and the history of the East against the West, I think we can....I do know this because I've coached against these Dickinson kids, pack a lunch....they leave it all on the ice.
Its usually the whole state vs gf!

Nice to have the comps with peer programs
PAY FOR 3 COACHES ENDOWMENT
UNI $618,000 $163 million
Illi st $584,800 $197 million
NDSU. $570,400 $457 million
USD. $560000 $329 million
SDSU. $540000 $213 million
YSU $504000 $276 million
Mizz St. $493000 $193 million
SIU. $460000 $190 million
UND $447000 $352 million
Ind st. $413000 $70 million
Murray. $412000 $91 million
Can someone with college endowment knowledge please explain this? When adding up the HC, OC and DC ….UNDs total combined salaries for those three ranks 9th out of 11 programs in MVFC. Yet ….UND is only behind Ndsu in the MVFC with endowment dollars. Clearly UND does very well in donations. I keep hearing on this site for the naggers to put forth more money to help. Und seems to have to no problem with that so I don’t think that blanket argument is valid. But since I am not familiar with endowment $ can someone explain to me how exactly does the university determine where to allocate the donations ? Does allocating to the FB program rank towards the bottom every year ? Or at all ? Basing argument off hard numbers which include coaching salaries to endowment intake and compared those to the other 10 peer programs in the MVFC….und is sadly far behind. Again …I would like more insight of how endowment distribution works before going to deep into this.
Where I’m going with this is ….can UND pay up for the “right” coaches for the next try ? Quite honestly und is paying Bubba about $200000 more than he deserves so I wont argue that angle . Just wondering for future hires if it’s a possibility? If it isn’t a possibility…..UND football is stuck in the mud. To hire a good candidate to move and live in GF will require more dollars than what the peers are paying. As what we have seen for years now …the high majority or percentage of hires have Und connections. Hasn’t worked. Need new blood. In order to get new blood …the salaries have to be raised significantly to peek interest.
Ever remember when und led ndsu in endowment
our champions club has been long in decline for years
