No doubt it was unimpressive. I attribute a part of that to injuries and mixing lines a bit. This team has yet to settle into "regular" line-mates. As with others on this board, I would like to see a return of the "heavy" line, with Gardner, Olson and Poganski wreaking havoc on other teams top lines. That would open up an opportunity for a Gersich, Jones, Mismash trio that could be a very dangerous line. And we easily have a 3rd and 4th line as well.
I also like that we seem to have two goalies who can give this team a chance to win games.

Solid forty minutes of play. Thome did a great job keeping the team in it during the first. We could have easily come into the second period down a couple.
Jones is a beast, and the breakout pass by Bast reminded me of LaDue...when LaDue was a junior. Hmm...
Sixty minutes tomorrow should net 3 more points.

Coach says they were outworked for first two periods. Desperation in the third wasn't enough. Execution and passing weren't there. Too much puck chasing in the first 30 minutes. Inconsistent play, can't take a shift off. Friday nights need to be better.

To those who now think UND is an offensive juggernaut after last night.....they scored one even strength goal by a transfer. They then scored 3 PPGs all by defensemen. At some point this team to win NCHC games if going to need production from Gersich and Pogo on a fairly regularly basis. Neither registered a point this series. Sprinkle in Rhett, Hoff and a couple freshman. Wolanin is outstanding offensively from the back end. This teams strength is overall team defense and it's PK.
Spot on. Teams that hang banners score 5x5; we'll need some of that to go along with the back end D.

Solid weekend of hockey for the men in Green. Puck went their way tonight, and the PK is solid. Tonight was a good confidence builder, and I see a team ready for the conference play to begin.
