  1. On PA & Dubay today, Dubay picked the Sioux as the favorite to win not only the Final Five but the NCAA tournament. His predictions have become the kiss of death lately...should we be worried?

    Vaht? :D

  2. He does lead the league in his helment coming off though.

    Interesting stuff from Radke: :D

"I wouldn't say we have unfinished business against them," Radke said, "but they took some liberties on some of our guys and it would be nice to beat them on the scoreboard in our own rink.

"I'd love to end a few of those guys' NCAA careers this weekend."

  3. Hanging banners for winning the WCHA Playoff Championship is stupid. I know this because UND only hangs banners for NCAA and WCHA Titles, and everything they do is right and if you do anything differently than them you're simply ass backwards.

    Correct.

  4. But to answer your question, the Sioux aren't going to win a national championship without good team defense the rest of the way. That's what did them in against BC at the Frozen Four last year.

That and shots that went top shelf glove side. wall.gif

  5. One of the big Sioux fans was giving me a description of Saint Cloud's "unique" arena. She said there are some kind of hieroglyphics at the main entrance to the arena. Do any of you know why they are there and what they say?

I thought it was just some sort of hippy art. (as my seven year old asserted, "that looks kind of dumb.")

  6. Those of us that participate on this and other internet forums will have our say. Most of us, in fact, have seen the subject beaten to death so badly on the boards that we're ready to say, "I could care less."

The fact is, however, that our small internet fan communities are a very small (insignificant?) voice in the grand scheme of this former rivalry. The UND and NDSU games have impacted many people in our state for many years. And while those of us die-hards who are reading about this stuff every day are sick of it, there is a far greater number of people, IMO, that can't wait to have it back.

Whether we care or not, UND will play NDSU again.

  7. Wisconsin has the best chance of all the road teams to pull off an upset, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if all five home teams emerge victorious this weekend.

I like Tech as the spoiler as well as UW. They're coming off a good effort last weekend (albeit sub-par by their opponent) and have been able to steal points from everyone in the league this year. (except SCSU I guess)

I think except for UM vs. AA, it's anyone's tournament.

  8. 10 UAA @ 1 UMTC

    9 UMD @ 2 SCSU

    8 MSUM @ 3 UND

    7 UW @ 4 DU

    6 MTU @ 5 CC

    Final Five Predictions

    Thursday: Tech over Wisconsin

Friday: St. Cloud over UND, (they're due... better now than later :silly: ) Tech over UM (funny, but possible)

Saturday: UND over UM (again), St. Cloud over Tech (banner mania hits the streets of St. Cloud)

  9. A couple of questions... (satellite newbie) :silly:

    1. How difficult is it to aim the dish correctly, and once aimed does it stay in the correct position? I.E. how much dish adjusting takes place over the course of a season?

    2. Will new cables need to be run into the home (and throughout) from outside, or can I somehow splice into my current dish network lines with some sort of selector?

    3. Is there a chance that the satellite feed will be cut off in the forseeable future, or will I likely be watching FSSN programming for the long term?

    Thanks!

  10. everyone has their own opinion and thats just fine. he has played this year at times and many have thought, man he has a long ways to go. thats fair as he has had some very bad turnovers like others have had as well but he has improved and hopefully this is just the top of the iceburg.there is nothing wrong with critisism in my book, if players play well they should be rewarded and priased as joe did and if they play bad at times its fair to ask why and be critical..i guess we will have to wait and see whats next for joe..hopefully only good things to come...

I agree 100%. With that, nice job Finley... keep up the good play.

  11. But is that an excuse to not try, and maybe get officials into the right habit for next year.

I don't know if the last couple of weekends of WCHA play is a good time to try to make things right... (although it will be difficult whenever that time comes)

  12. Thanks JFR.

I'd also like to add my thanks to the posters this season and to the team (if they read the boards) on a great regular season.

I'd especially like to thank PCM and all the rationally minded posters who didn't give up on the team early in the season when it was really bad. All the posters who didn't wish a single player be thrown down the river. You guys are awesome.

Now let's get the Final Five opponents taken care of and off to the NCAA!!!!

    ;)

Aw c'mon... it was just Finley. And I never said anything about a river either. (bus perhaps...)

  13. Although getting a 3 seed is nicer, would you rather have to play a streaky Wisconsin team again, or MSU-Mankato....?

Just a thought. Mankato and Wisconsin might not even finish in the 6th and 7th spots.

Neither sound appealing... but I'd choose MSUM. Wisconsin holds better cards, IMO in the goaltending/ coaching/ and raw talent categories.

(even though 'kato wins the grit/ something to prove/ "no I in team" categories)

  14. Sorry, but I'm 100 percent a Gopher fan on Friday. UND's potential success is far more important to me than Minnesota's potential failure.

Since Minnesota's potential failure is very important to me... I hope they tie Friday. This will put them 4 points ahead of St. Cloud. After we take 2 of those potential points from the huskies on Friday, they realize they can't catch the gophs, and will all drown their sorrows that night and be terribly hung over for the Saturday game. Then, on Saturday, the Sioux score 18 goals on a hazy-headed St. Cloud team, locking down a third place finish for the regular season. :D

  15. No such people actually exist.

When UND decided not to play NDSU, a lot of NDSU fans were very hurt.

That pain turned to anger which then manifested itself as those fans pretending that they never want to play UND again.

In turn, some UND fans matched that with a similar "we should never play them again" guise to get back at the NDSU fans saying that.

It's all one big s*it smelling stink circle.

Once 2009 comes around we can finally flush all that BS down the tubes. All those pretenders will, of course, be first in line for tickets to the games and things will go right back to where they were in 2003 and before, as it should be.

Easily one of the most common sense, honest posts in this goofy thread. See you in 2009.

(Just so I'm not looked at as an undercover Bison Fan: Schedule the game for Sep. 1 and play us you cowards!) :D

  16. well, if you say it's a team, maybe they should let the other players get some more ice time. Some of them are only on the ice for about 10 seconds, so how can they contribute.

If they're only on the ice for 10 seconds, it's likely for a reason. This isn't pee-wee hockey where everyone gets equal time.
