  1. Tim Hennesey reported this morning on the radio that the Sioux received a verbal committment from Brett Hextall from Penticton. He is the son of former Flyer goalie Ron Hextall. Hennesey apparently said he has a nasty streak to him as he is leading his team in scoring and penalties. Currenly he has 14 pts and 69 penalty minutes in 11 games.

  2. FWIW:

    ZJ stated Monday night that he is good to go this weekend and that the coaches were just being cautious during the exhibition game and again during Meet the Sioux.

    According to the Herald this morning, it appears Finley and Jones may be out for tonight's game.

  4. Quote from Wisconsin paper on Salmon Arm player Ben Winnett;

    "With at least two holes to fill in the 2007-08 recruiting class, Eaves and his staff appear to be focusing their attention on center Ben Winnett from Salmon Arm of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League.

    Winnett, 17, and his father, Derek, made an unofficial campus visit to UW June 17. The two also made an unofficial stop at Michigan and are interested in Denver and North Dakota."

  6. Iceburg from GPL has a post metioning ND after a Kevin Quick from Salisbury Prep in Salisbury, Connecticut.

    I have to think that it is UND and not Notre Dame, because it metions UNH and Minnesota as the other interested schools.

    It is all message board hearsay, but it throws a new name out there.

  7. I watched the game, and Blaker took a tripping call, but I never saw anything about "Abuse of Officials." I looked at both the Devils and Islanders box scores for the game, and they both have Blake for tripping, so I guess I'm wondering where you got your info.

    USA Today had it as "abuse of officials"
