Here's an article I wrote for SiouxSports about the rivalry between the schools, particularly what happened when the WCHA made the two teams schedule partners and how the fan bases of the two schools have created a traveling "fan trophy" for the games.

Any people on the board here go to the Hockey luncheon, sounds like our group may check it out.
We're planning to hit the Sioux booster luncheon on Friday. Hope to see you there.
And yes, the old Ralph is more or less across from the Park and Ride, situated east of Memorial Stadium. Crazy at times, yes, but folks like to forget the lean years (oh, about 91-94).

I know this isn't at all related to the rant/counter-rant going on in this thread, but I had a sign idea (for anyone so inclined) that might come in handy the next time the Sioux and Bulldogs take the ice. Picture a sign very much like the Crappie/Crappy sign that made an appearance for the Sioux/Gopher games, but this one would read:
[bulldog logo] - Duluth
[sioux logo] - Superior
My apologies if this has been done. A thousand apologies if no one else finds this amusing or clever.

Good article except towards the bottom the say Notre Dame goalie. JPL. They actually wrote Notre Dame instead of North Dakota. Great editting of your story.

UND/SCSU Challenge Cup
