I totally agree. North Dakota fans have for too long offended the proud heritage of the Golden Gopher by referring to it as a "Goofer." Fire Helmet is dead on here. It is totally the same thing. Let's learn a lesson from our sophisticated neighbors to the east. Thank you so much!

You mean in that game that didn't count? He wasn't paying attention, but he had good reason, he was looking up where that 8th banner is going to go... I am talking more about the games that count especially the 1st five games where he tallied 4 shutouts (is that even good?)

I am sure many people on here have friends that are Gopher fans but what I want to know is why do they insist calling us the SUE? I get what it means but its not funny nor will it ever be funny. I swear they get more ignorant every year. I just want to take our 7 banners and strangle them to death

Exactly like that. I was in the crowd standing out there giving those guys crap the entire time. I am pretty sure that is one of the worst experiences ever for Doug .
I don't know, the guy was pretty much the definition of mediocre... when Lucia took the team to the Nat'l championship was probably the worst experience for Doug.

I'm predicting that Blais' Canadian bubble hockey players will smoke Woog just like old times, at least six glove flashes by Lamoureux, Finley dragging a Gopher player around the ice like a rag doll, a Bina goal from behind UND's goal line, Tom Buning making a guest appearance to sieve Minnesota's goalie and incessant online whining by Sioux fans about the officiating. We realize what gets under the skin of Gopher players, fans and their homer sportscasters.

this weekend the sioux will have no few than 20 penalty min a game and the gophs will have no more than 4 as the WCHA will make sure it's poster school gets all the help it can to get back on track. I wouldn't be surpirised if there is a 5 minute 5 on 3 for the gophs with oshie and duncan both being called for bogus checking from behind calls just to make sure the gophs get all the help they need.

Some early season struggles for the perennial(well, at least the very recent history) WCHA favorites, no matter what tomorrow's game brings for either team, this is setting up to be a great series next weekend. I realize that the Sioux need to take it a game at a time as do the Gophers. I will be making my first trip to Grand Forks next weekend and I hope to meet many of the Sioux faithful. Here is to a great weekend of college hockey! Sorry, I don't mean to look past this Saturday's games for either team as the are VERY important.

I also heard wooger last night talking about when the goophs come to G. F. to play us next month, and he was saying the fans here a "HOSTILE!!!" I know he's an idiot, and I shouldn't put much into what he says, but I thought it was not only unprofessional, but totally uncalled for as well. The goof fans are just as bad, if not worse when we play them in umtc.
I'm pretty sure Woog was giving ND fans a compliment with that one, saying it is a tough environment for opponents to play in. Keep your skirt on.

I think that the 5 minute major was a horrible call. It was a 2 minute penalty all the way.

I think it is funny calling this guy a loser and "retard" (I don't condone the use of that term), when he is obviously a very bright young man looking at a successful future (tech is a tremendous engineering school).

What NCAA hockey arena could even handle that amount of people?
It would have to be an outdoor game at a football stadium like a few teams have done recently. I bet an outdoor UND/UMN hockey game at a football stadium would sell quite a few tickets...and being that UND fans travel so well, you would see a huge following with that.
It would be great to see that many people at a hockey game, but I the outdoor stadium game isn't the greatest. The sight lines would be horrible. I would love to see a big UND vs. U of M game in a huge venue, but I think it it would be more likely to see a U of M vs. Wisconsin game in a stadium. Those two teams are each others number one rivals and both states are known for religiously following hockey.

Funny thing even though I don't believe Lammy is the best goalie in the league that being said; at least Lammy is a better gaolie than Frazee.
I think Lammy will be ok (around .915 and 2.3 gaa) I also believe that Grieco will make a bigger impact on the team this season. I think the Sioux rushed him into the line up last season. I do believe that a team needs two goalies in case one gets hurt. But your right Sioux rube I believe it's the Sioux weakest point on this years team is goaltending. The goalies do have questions to answer.That was record time without mentioning Mr. Long Island...congratulations.

I use video/editing software (Adobe Premeire Elements), rather than Windows Movie Maker, as it has more features. It all depends on the type of files. Don't know if the YouTube files are specific for YouTube or if they can be modified using other software.
