  2. Via Schlossman

If Harvard, Ohio State and Boston University all win, UND is going to be looking very good. I haven’t been able to find a scenario out there that leaves UND out IF all three of those teams win, but I believe there might be one.

....another thing that could help UND is Air Force either losing in the semifinals or winning the whole tournament in Atlantic Hockey

  3. FYI: Limited West Region SRO tickets go on sale Friday

The University of North Dakota announced today that a limited number of 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey West Regional ticket packages will go on sale to the public on

    Friday, March 10 at 2 p.m. Central

The ticket packages are standing room-only behind the north goal of SCHEELS Arena and are priced at $94. Reserved seats are not assigned to these tickets. Tickets can be purchased online only at the following link. In-person sales will not be conducted.

Why?  CC members have earned the right to first access to tickets.  If you want that first right, join CC.

They STILL would have had access to tickets first. They just wouldn't have been able to purchase as many. IMO, allowing top members to purchase 6 instead of 8 is still a great benefit. And the fact that members who donated $135 got to purchase tickets also shows UND was more than fair to CC members.

Again, I saw a lot of club members say they bought the whole allotment simply because the option was there. It's unfortunate to see folks purchase tickets they don't need, especially when tickets were already very limited.

    Why UND Picked Orleans Arena

    http://undhockey.areavoices.com/?p=105140

Once UND saw how successful NY was (and knew tickets would be in high demand for Vegas), they should have changed the amount of tickets Champions Club members could purchase. There was still time.

I have nothing against CC members, it just would have been nice if they had allowed for a few more tickets to be available to the general public.

  6. This might be an unpopular opnion, but given the smaller venue, I wish UND had only allowed Champions Club members to purchase 6, 4, and 2 tickets maximum instead of 8, 6, and 4. I've seen many comments on Facebook from club members who bought the maximum because they could, not because they needed them.

8, 6, 4 makes sense for a place like MSG with 17,000+ seats, but Orleans? Did CC members have the same options for the West Regional at Scheels Arena?

I know it's disappointing but just remember this thing is 18 months away. Alot of people bought as many as they could just because they could. Those tickets all don't have a home. Plus 18 months is a long time. Plans and schedules change, people die (JK). There will be tickets available.

Yes, but at what cost? $99 + fees was already expensive for the average budget.

  8. This game is on my birthday. I was hoping to snag a couple tickets via the general sale in February, but it's not sounding good. I guess I'll have wait and see if people's plans change within the next year and a half, and they have tickets to unload.

I do find it odd that tickets are on sale so early, especially when most airlines won't let you book flights until later this year (normally 11 months out).

  9. Two of us going. Staying at an Airbnb not far from Times Square.

We have been to NY twice already so we have seen many of the main attractions like Liberty Island, One World Trade, Times Square, Met Museum, etc.

A few of our planned activities: Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree, Brooklyn Bridge, Bryant Park Winter Festival, Highline, Chelsea Market, Whitney or Guggenheim Museum, NY Islanders game (Sunday night), and NY Public Library. We'll likely grab pizza at one of the many pizza places near NYU, and plan to hit up Heartland Brewery for the pregame social.

I highly recommend going to the top of One World Trade. The view is SPECTACULAR, especially at sunset! Also, the view from Top of the Rock (Rockefeller building) is quite nice as well. Liberty Island/Ellis Island is a worthwhile trip. One ticket gets you access to both.
