  1. Read my post #148 again. If you still don't get it have Bison Dan draw you a picture--they are good at drawing and coloring at SU.
  2. Whatever. You are failing to see my point and that's ok.
  3. Good to hear from you again! People like me should have a right to give their opinion on the good and the bad. Not dwelling on anything, but was making a point that Oshie isn't going to have his decision swayed by what is mentioned on this site. Oshie is a great hockey college hockey player and I think he'll make even a better pro. No pull that thong out of your butt and relax!
  4. Here we go again? Thanks for sharing with all of us your wisdom, newbie! If you really think what is posted on these threads is going to sway any underclassman from returning for another year, you are as slow as Bison Dan! To a person who posts on this site, Oshie--the hockey player--is one, if not, the most respected and admired players on the team. Oshie--the college student--has made some less than wise choices...and that is plural. People who cheer for the hockey player also have the right to question the choices of the student/athlete.
  5. Saw SU in person 1 time this year vs. IUPUI. Winkleman is solid, but he is average athletically when you put him up against "some of the best in the nation". Had difficulty creating his own shot, but boarded well for his size. Can't defend a lick. He is somewhat a product of Woodside, who is the real deal. But when you are up 10+ at home with a few minutes to go and puke it away like they did against IUPUI, there is a reason that they were a slightly better than .500 team in the Summit. And to make a bad anology using a Ford and Lincoln, you must be straight off the farm near Hannaford, ND because there isn't a lot of difference between those two makes of cars--both suck.
  6. Make a point BD. Your 3000 doesn't make you the Gator's spring game. It is great for NDSU that season tickets are up. GF is a hockey town. UND is a hockey school. UND has had down years in hockey and still drew as well as they did this year. Do you want me to cue the tapes of the Babich years and the Bison "faithful"? My SU buddies were giving away their tickets a few years ago. Now is it pathetic that UND could only draw 5000+ for a playoff FB game the past couple years. Absolutely. But you are drinking the Hallstrom Kool-aid if you think SU will sell out if they struggle in the Gateway for a couple of years. Every town loves a winner though.
  7. Have no doubt your experiences are true. But having briefly read some of this thread, you seem to want to put UND on trial for a few of bad experiences that happened at UND. If you want to stick it to UND on the nickname issue because you feel you had some unfortunate experiences by a FEW at UND, that really is vindictive and nothing more. You have every right to be upset with your treatment by some at UND but UND didn't treat you badly. Students at UND did. Apples and oranges, but from your posts you definitely have a distain for UND the university. Don't get that part of it?
  8. Yeah...wow??? 3000 attended. Last time I checked the Redhawks average more than that night in and night out. The "special" was nothing more than the Fargo media trying to inflate Bison FB. Trust me when I say the town of Fargo isn't a "buzz" about the NDSU FB team. Contrary to some Bison fans and Fargo media, there is not this constant year round "water cooler" talk about Bison FB as some would have you believe.
  9. That logic in your eyes has NDSU beating Mizzu? If SI would "mop up" on UND, then SU won't be over .500 this year in the Gateway.
  10. Best complete H.S. player in the "metro"/surrounding area this year...and it isn't even close. Shoots it deep, strong to the tin, drops dimes, boards well for his size and if need be can D up tight.
  11. Really? When SU goes a game or 2 above .500 in the Gateway and doesn't make the playoffs, you think the Bison "faithful" are going to continue to cram the Dome? (Cue tapes from the Babich era) Didn't mind 'cause I didn't care!
  12. It is not complicated now. Same division, biggest single day viewed sports event in the state and huge gate for either school to host game. This is a common sense issue now--the fans of each school want the game to be played, the majority of citizens in the state want the game to be played and my guess is the players want the game to be played. Put egos aside and get this rivarly started again.
  13. And Kozek's dad was overheard at the F4 saying, "He's not going pro yet. I just bought him a damn house!"
  14. "Stay classy Fargo!"
  15. Love Fargo! It's the UND grads that practice medicine in Fargo, like myself, that keep you SU grads healthy so that you can to your tractor pulls, kegs parties at your neighbors and dinners out at the Golden Coral!
  16. 2nd that! When NDSU hosts a playoff FB in the Dome or has a men's basketball team that can do something in the postseason, get back to me. SU didn't anything in it's last few years in D2 and one big win here and there in D1 FB or BB doesn't qualify for all the arrogance that I deal with from Bison fans here in Fargo.
  17. And you have more inside info than TH?
  18. BINGO!! And that is why they have been to 3 straight Championship games. They skate, they are fast and they can score. Was also suprised by how physical they were. If you can't catch them, you can't hit them. UND needs more speed and scorers to get to where they want to go which is to win those last 2 game at the Frozen Four.
  19. Having Joe back for another year would be great. For those who say we don't need him back because we have freshman coming in take a look at LaPoint. LaPoint will be much better next year but was he as solid and polished as the hype coming in?? Freshman D-man struggle in the WCHA plain and simple. Joe would provide leadership and experience as well as improved play.
  20. Per radio today, there is some speculation that Finley might return next year.
  21. Wish that could be said for Thursday afternoon.
  22. Asked the vendor how these shirts were selling and he said not well. Told him I'd give him $5 bucks for one and he laughed. I told him good luck and went back later in the weekend and still a pile of them left. Go figure.
  23. Fully agree. Funny how so many people are so down on Martens. He is not flashy but more than a solid 2 way player. If I'm not mistaken didn't he jump to the top line a couple times when Duncan was tossed at UM and Oshie got hurt mid-game this year? If people want to "rag" on some players, I can think of some that under produced this year more so than Martens based on pure talent!! He is a 4 year guy that will be better next year.
  24. Find it intersesting that UND will have all these freshman cracking the line-up in '09. Outside of Trupp at forward, Malone and Frattin were not real consistant or solid as freshman. Where is Martens in this conversation? He will play next year because he does things well, not great, on both ends of the ice. And obviously Hak sees something in Miller? Lots depends on who goes and stays obviously.
