  1. But your argument is comparing a freshman to a pre-season All-American. Not really apples to apples. Both D frosh have been better than average for freshman in this league. Chorney has not even been as good as last year. I just thought he would absolutely dominate this year. But Chorney still is very skilled and I see him making big plays from here on out.
  2. They are what they are...a solid 3rd line. They aren't going to give you big offensive number, but I like what I have seen of them so far.
  3. His decision making has been poor with the puck which has lead to too many turnovers which has resulted directly into a few goals. When you take into account his play last year and the pre-season All-American billing, he has not delivered this year.
  4. Good point. How about 1 and 1A? They both have under performed so far this year.
  5. Agree with your points, but at some point, if this is the team that we all think they are and can be, they need to start sweeping lesser opponents--especially at home! These splits are doing nothing but dropping us in the pairwise. Home ice with a 3rd seed to avoid the play in game at the final 5 is what they need to concentrate on now.
  6. Kozek--he brings it game in and game out. Might not always get results in stats but he has been consistant and steady. Biggest disappointment--Chorney hands down, but I think he turns the corner soon and so does this team.
  7. Looking at the rest of this week's WCHA matchups and standings, this is the week, if it is going to happen, that a sweep is needed. 4 points this weekend would solidify our spot at #3 with more potenital wins coming in the next few weeks. UND needs to get 5 of 6 wins in this next 3 week stretch.
  8. That seems to be the general theme of this thread by those in the know! Agree on last line as well.
  9. Sounds like you and Bob = warm and fuzzy
  10. That's your bent on it, so be it. Holier than thou--no. Proponent of responsibility/accountablility--yes.
  11. He was and the class contained all fat kids on ritilan that drooled on themselves while playing X-Box. Real tough to be the "king" of that group! He can have respect for whoever he wants, but he has little here! PS Bob--GO PACK GO!!
  12. I guess "Would like fries with that?" is about all the help you can provide
  13. Does getting suspended for a game qualify??
  14. I think the key game this weekend is Fri. Not that they win or lose, but that compete and play well. If they lay down Friday, they'll get swept. If they battle and play good hockey regardless of the outcome Friday, they at least split.
  15. You made the point clearer than I guess I was able to make it. Nice job!
  16. Elaborate for me please??
  17. Appreciate your advice and wisdom that is on display for all on this thread to see Last time I looked I don't see many people jumping to your defense in this discussion based on your logic (I'll use that term loosely), but I guess I am a loser that does get it!! By the way I can write you a presription if you want one as well! And I don't need details. An arrest is an arrest and 2 of them in a year, well...
  18. You seem to miss the point, but from your ranting posts that doesn't suprise me. He has been arrested twice in less than one year. Now for someone with an enabling mentality like yours that might not be a big deal, but when you are a captian of the hockey team, a major representative of the university and community that might be somewhat of a big deal to a few people--Hakstol being one as a suspension was issued. Now does that make Oshie an aweful person--absolutely not, but it can allow for some discussion about personal conduct based on his status within the hockey program, university and community. If this goes over your head, I can draw you a picture.
  19. Really ? I don't think this team can win on the road without him.
  20. Break out the Black jerseys I think they'll rally without TJ and play well...enough to win, I don't know?
  21. Lack of judgement is sometimes a reflection on someone's character, but I don't think that is the case here. TJ will face the consequences, but he won't bail on his team for a mistake he made. And being out at 2 am in questionable circumstances will make anyone a marked man!
  22. I think you are reading too much into that. He had a episode last year. You hope he would have learned from that, but being a previous college student I can see where/how this could happen...again. Hockey is just a game and wins and loses are just that, but you would hope repeat off the ice incidences don't occur especially when your one of the leaders of the team. That is what is disappointing.
  23. Not too suprised unfortunately This has been a season, so far, of disappointments bases on potential and this is probably the biggest disappointment of all.
  24. Not disagreeing but again when you take into account the returning talent and expectations, they have underachieved, especially defensively. They are still good hockey team, but not playing or have played up to their hype and potential consistantly. Their "easier" upcoming schedule that all have been waiting for still contains all teams in the top 20 minus UAA. Time will tell, especially over the next month+. If splits keep coming we will continue to slip in the pairwise and then who know?? I feel they'll pull it together, but as every weekend has been, this is a huge weekend at SCSU. Minimum split or things could start going in a direction nobody wants to see. They really need to win 5-6 of the next 8 to maintain their pairwise ranking and help secure home ice for the 1st round of the WCHA. That is just the reality of their current situation.
  25. Theirs must really bad because ours hasn't be very good!!
