Dogs pick up a couple of first downs. UMD hits a long pass against man coverage. 48 yards to UND's 19.

Nice run for Belmore on third and long, but he comes up 2 short of the first down. Halfmann's punt downed at the two yard line.

One of these plays, the Sioux are going to run the reverse to Dressler. They keep faking it.

Dogs can only pick up 5 yards and punt. Dressler finally gets to return a punt. Holding on the Sioux. Dressler gets drilled on return.

Sioux punt it away on 4th and 1. Ball goes into the end zone for the touchback. Still Sioux 35, Dogs 0 with 8:59 to go in the second quarter.

What is with players tripping on their own feet today? Strouth has a huge hole and just falls down with nobody around him. The turf monster has come out for Halloween.

Sioux get the ball back on their own 42. High hang-time punts are stopping Dressler from returning them.

Sioux hold on third and 29. Dogs will punt.

UMD finally picks up a first down, but gets called for holding. Bulldog's QB has happy feet on every passing play.

Sioux go on 4th and 1 and are stopped.

The way things are going for UMD, I think that's a real possibility.

Second half is under way. UND recovers the ball on the kickoff. Too bad for Bubba.

Bubba says he's not worried about the scoreboard. The second half will tell him what his team is made of.

I was actually dreading this game a bit because I had visions of it being like the Mankato game at the Alerus this season. Fortunately, it's not turning out that way. Looks like the week off did the Sioux good.

At the end of the first half, it's UND 35, UMD 0.

I guess that we have to trust Lennon to know which of the two QBs is playing better and can help the team the most. That being said, I think it would be a good to see what Freund can do in the second half.

What we think really doesn't matter. If Manke continues to be bothered by injuries, the best thing that could happen for UND is to have Belmore have a big game to regain the confidence he once had. This team might have to depend on Belmore if it wants to go anywhere in the playoffs.
