  1. Oh, and Swiss, Swede (oops), Luxembourg... its all the same ??? . The way I heard (which by no means makes it the truth) is that he had triple citizenship (US, Canada, and Swiss). Mom or Dad Canadian, born in Switzerland, and raised in the US. And I think you are right, it was his last year of eligibility for the Swiss Elite League.

  2. It seems you like the banter PCM, so again, 2003-2004, Stafford and Murray's freshman year, the only year the four of them were in the same uniform together, I remember both Stafford and Murray skating with Parise and Bochenski. Which ever one you throw with them, I still stick with my original pick. I think Murray had more points than Stafford that year, but I like Stafford with those two for my top Sioux line. Thats my take, which will be different than many others, but thanks for the corrections ??? That's what is great about these forums, right? :silly:

  3. Murray may have started the year with them, but must have got injured early because I remember those three together most of the season. Big surprise, Murray getting injured, come back and reseparate the same shoulder in the first period, be out another six weeks. No wonder he left the WCHA for Sweden. I guess the Swedes don't hit as hard.

  4. The Hrkac Circus put up points like nobody's business, that is a given. But I feel that those were the days of offense in hockey, be it the goaltending, defense or a combination. Even though our more recent lines can't match the points (and I don't think one ever will again), I think the DOT line and the Parise, Bochenski, Stafford lines can definitely match in talent. Just for arguments sake, I'll go with Parise, Bochenski, Stafford. Even though they are all doing well in the NHL, it would have been fun to see the three of them together that second year.

  5. Yeah, cmon dagies, you are supposed to give us the cliff notes version. ;) Most of us are too lazy to go through all the work, plus the sound on my labtop is on the fritz!

  6. I think Hensick's actions on and off the ice at the regional kept him out of the top three. There is no other reason he is not there, his stats would have him there. I think it's great, he is a direct reflection of his coach (nice job Red). He showed lack of self disipline and lack of respect for his team. I think Duncs has as good of chance as anyone. I wouldn't mind if the Ehn kid won, but don't give it to a goalie that saw less than 20 shots a game... and he plays for the flippin Irish. Go Sioux!

  7. Forney's health will always be a question mark, but lets hope he can get healthy in the offseason and he can show us next season why he was such a highly reguarded recruit. I think the couple years of juniors has helped Marto, I am hoping he will be solid on the blueline for us right away. It's great he put on some weight, I think that will help his body hold up over a WCHA seaon. It seems he is a more offensive minded blueliner, so we may have to stick him with a defensive guy like Jones or Finley (assuming Lee and Chorney stay together, I think they work great together).

  8. Duncan is going to be online for this weeks Tuesday at the Rink chat. He's on at 2 PM Eastern, so you can submit questions for him this morning at either USCHO or CSTV. Hope someone asks him what he thinks their chances of winning #8 are this year. I think they are all hungry to win and pissed off about last Saturday. Go Sioux!

  9. Briggs has never seemed to me to be a big game goalie. I think Lucia would at least consider keeping Frazee in for the playoffs and ride the hot goalie, but I think we will see Briggs against Air Force. He better keep his eye on the puck this year.

  10. I'm in complete agreement. There are always a few bad fans from every school that ruin the reputation for everyone else. I know we have some idiot fans, along with the goofers, along with every other WCHA team. Unfortunately, the drunk ones usually wouldn't heed some good advice if it was given to them anyway. On an interesting side note... was it only the Sioux dumba$$es that got kicked out, or did the goofer boneheads get booted also?

  11. Couple of quick questions. I live in West Fargo so I don't have FSSN, but I have Dish Network. From what I have read so far, it looks like I am out of luck to get a live TV feed. Does anyone know if there will be a webcast for these games and what the website would be? I usually listen to the radio on the web for away games but would love to see it live in video if at all possible. I know the SS.com posters who used the webcast for the Saint Cloud series said it was ok, would be better than nothing. It seems so crazy that we can't get a live feed for our states #1 sports team in the NCAA playoffs, but I suppose that money has something to do with it like mentioned earlier. Go Sioux!

  12. I think you may be right redwing... I just looked at the latest pairwise, and it would seem pretty unlikely that they could fall far enough to miss the tourney, unless a few teams below them won their conference tourney and took the autobids, but most likely, it looks like they will be a #3 or #4 seed in the Denver regional.

  13. Actually, Denver is in danger of not making the NCAA. They need to win their playoff series this weekend, and possibly a win at the frozen five. But you are right, the chances of us getting to Denver are slim. I think MNtc goes there as the #1 seed and we get sent out east as a #2, which is ok, it is all about who you play. I agree that I don't think we have a shot at a #1 unless one of the top seeds has a major meltdown this weekend and we win out, but hey it would be sweet if it happened. Also, can someone tell me why the BU loss hurts us? I'm not that smart, sometimes I need things spelled out for me.

  14. Not that any of this means anything... but will add some fuel to the discussion. I agree with AZSIOUX that Duncan got no love on the "Tuesday at the Rinks" chat, which is surprising even if it was all east coast a-holes doing the chat. He is one of the best hockey players in the country, and these "experts" are supposed to be knowledgable about all of college hockey. I do like the fact that they talked a little about the Ehn kid from Air Force. I fully agreed with the comments in reguards to his other commitments, being an Air Force academy student, but then they turned right around and said it comes down to the hockey skills and stats. They all agreed that the voters really don't know anything about the candidates off the ice, so really it comes down to the best college hockey player and thats it, and even with my green glasses off, if Duncan is not one of the three finalists, it will be a disgrace. On the flip side, INCH had Duncs at the top of their Hobey Watch for the second week in a row, which is nice to see. At least it gives him some publicity out east. Oh well, I guess we will all have to wait and find out like the rest of the nation. GO SIOUX!! :silly:

  15. I agree that the teams success will help Duncan in his hobey campaign, but realisticallly I think that Brown or Hensick get the edge based soley on the fact that they are seniors. I am not saying it is right or that I agree, but I think that is how it is. Everyone on this board knows he deserves to be one of the three finalists, and in my opinion he should win it, but it will be a tough road convincing everyone else.

  16. Guess I should have looked down further to see an entire section dedicated to this topic. :) Guess I don't have as much time on my hands as I thought, at least not as much as some of you who apparently wait for topics to be rediscussed so you can throw out your daily rebuttal and a quick link to the last discussion, in which you also made some groundbreaking revelations. Thanks for the help ;) I'll try not to let it happen again (Am I on double secret probation now with Riley Nash?)
