  1. that's pretty damn impressive that he played all but sixty some odd minutes, the rest of which i am assuming was mop up time for the other guy. are they going to go for two years in a row? i hope it works out as well for us as it did for sparty because jpl may be seeing similar minutes.

  2. hey, i think ag should feel privaleged, none of the other players on the team have had a 14 page forum dedicated to them, even though the last 12 have had nothing to do with him :D ill try to keep up but don't crucify me if i miss something... i love reo speedwagon, could take or leave the rest of the aforementioned bands, don't know or care who did or did not sleep with someone elses girlfriend, sofie's last name is spelled with an "f" not a "ph", sioux yeah yeah admits to having been at an nsync concert, the ralph apparently is a crappy place to watch or play hockey (although i do agree it shoud be louder a majority of the time), and we can all save a ton on our car insurance by switching to grieco???

  3. never seen him play, but his numbers are solid, and most people in the know talk very highly of him. he would be a great '09 pickup for the sioux i imagine. lets just hope he doesn't make the poor decision to commit to UMtc.

  4. I didn't have enough time to read all of your post but it is beautiful :D

You may want to pay more attention to the emotes when reading posts.

I never "seriously" questioned the integrity of the hockey program or its coaches ! ;)

BTW yes I WAS a big AG fan but he is gone now and I thought most of us had moved on but apparently not GO SIOUX!

the post really isn't that long, and apparently you have the time as you have posted well into the double digits on this topic. and yes most of us have moved on as a.g. has nothing to do with our season anymore, but according to your sig, you are not one of them ;)

  5. Old Time and Oxbow i think you both lipped out your boogie putts on the 18th ;) pick it up I will give you that one ;)

i don't know what a boogie putt is, but it sounds unsanitary. :D leafsguy, after 8 pages of this, i think we can all see that you were a big ag supporter. it's your perogative, and we're not going to fault you for it, but when you start to question the integrity of the hockey program and/or its coaches because you personally (for whatever reason) feel wronged by this situation, then it is time to take a step back and take a look at the big picture. the facts that we know to this point are that ag left his team during the season, he was not getting playing time mostly because jpl has been lights out, and his dad is the one who stated in the paper that it was because he needed playing time. everyone has their opinions on this, but to me he quit on his team. im sure he realized he was going to get very little playing time this season due to the way jpl finished last season, so he should have left then if playing time was an issue. the reality of the situation now is that we are now stuck with only two goalies, and only one with real game experience because an 18 yr old kid wanted more playing time and quit. i have nothing against ag personally, but what he did really sucks for the sioux, and i am always a sioux fan first. GO SIOUX!!

  6. can't wait for the games this weekend! wish i could make the trip, sounds like there should be two sold out crowds, which you would expect. sioux sweep, 4-2 friday, 5-2 saturday. lets get back on track. GO SIOUX!!

  7. hak said walski has earned his road trips by his work in practice, so i am guessing he and grieco would split the majority of the road trips unless one of them really stepped up and took the second spot. if he really left because of that, its too bad. you better have thicker skin than that to be a top notch goalie, either that or prove yourself so that hak just cant leave you home. if this all ends up being true, we have some voids to fill in this area.

  8. someone posted that it wasnt about playing time, so what were the issues? academic problems would seem to be the only other logical thing. i have absolutely no inside info on this, but i would put some good money that it had a good deal to do with playing time. is there going to be an official release on why, or will we all be left to speculate?

  9. that sucks if it is true about grieco. not many teams go through an entire season with two goalies. what happens if walski or jpl get hurt? how does a college roster work, is it set once the season starts, or can you pick up a player during the season in a situation like this? i know we didn't add anybody when bishop left, but we didn't need anyone, and where do you find a sevicable wcha goalie now?? he must not have had much confidence that he would beat out eidsness for the starting spot next year.

  10. I know I'll get killed for this, but...

I watched Sat's game on the tube, so my view might be completely skewed, but I think both JPL and Marto laid eggs with their performances.

And when is the last time anyone recalls a team getting so many 3-on-1s against a Fighting Sioux squad? Lots of breakdowns on defense.

Finally, CC plugged up the middle and didn't allow the Sioux any passing room. Get used to that.

your last two points are right on, we gave up odd man rushes all weekend. JPL played fine, not stellar saturday, but good enough to win with some help from the rest of the team. marto was one of the better dmen out there saturday, one of the few guys with some jump in his legs, and i don't believe he was out there for any of the cc goals, so i don't know where the "laid egg" is coming from.

  11. i saw both too, and i thought he skated well also, but that doesnt mean he did anything. i just think there is a good spot that hes taking up and until he decides to put up some points (seeing he has only 10 in his career) im not going to say hes worthy of a spot. now radke has more points but he also should because of appearing in more games. the only big difference i see is radke isnt afraid of taking some hits and giving some hits, also while making some nice passes and shot attempts once in a while. he has the ability to get this team jacked up sort of like prpich was. where as i see martens showing no emotion out there and seems like hes always along for the ride, not contributing a thing.

there you have it, my opinion, and only that. FOR THE RECORD, this isnt a bash on martens he has shown some sparks here and there, but please and i say please, play like you wanna be on this team and play like a leader on that 4th line when youre the only veteran up top with radke out.

some valid points, and as you said it is your opinion, which you are entitled to. i don't think there is any comparison between prpich and radke. prpich could skate and be a scoring threat while providing that spark on the ice. i haven't seen anything out of radke this season that tells me he has earned that spot over martens. he continues to take untimely penalties while providing very little in the offensive zone. at least martens has been skating hard and cycling the puck well keeping it in the offensive zone. in my opinion, martens gives that fourth line some needed offensive punch. i do agree it would be nice to see a little emotion from him. maybe he needs to mix it up a little bit next time he's out there.

  12. ive been wondering the saaaame thing about martens. instead of everyone pissing and moaning about radke and how he shouldnt be playing. he has a lot of heart and energy that he brings into the game that ijust dont see martens giving. i would like to see a trupp, radke, forney line much more than what we saw tonight.

i don't know what games you were watching, but i was at both and thought martens skated well both nights. lapoint skates well, but as someone stated, he was out of position a few times last night. nothing that can't be fixed, i think he will be solid. marto looked right at home out there last night. he is one of the fastest players on the ice at any given time, moves the puck well, and jumped into the play nicely. the only knock on marto is his size, but we can't have six matt greenes. friday night, the only thing that really stuck out to me was that forney looked like he had tired legs in the third, as opposed to saturday when it looked like the entire team had tired legs. i really hope we don't see that saturday team on the ice too often this season :D but if anything, we know what they are capable of after the friday game, we just need a little consistency. and yes, sweatt is a player, he was one of the few players who had a complete weekend. the good news (for everyone except cc) is i think he will be gone after this year.
