For those of us who are 2+ hours removed from Grand Forks can anyone provide more insight on Buning? When I see him at UND games, most notably the UND-UMTC hockey series this winter, I'm really impressed in the way he carries himself, exhibits confidence and enthusiasm and has the pedal to the metal on playing NDSU and transitioning to D1 status. The rumors that so many successful and well liked coaches don't work well w/ him should be cause for some questioning. I think the world of Lennon but then again, we all thought doom when RT and Blais left and both of those changes turned out well up to this point.

I also grew up going to Fargo and attended UND for 5 years getting 2 degrees. My parents go to GF to eat as often as possible due to the diversity (read non-chain establishments) and character (Blue Moose, Toasted Frog & Sanders, for example). Anyone bagging on GF owes it to themselves to take in a football/hockey game, get downtown for some dinner and hop around to some of the unique places GF has. Also, the fact that you don't have to slow down driving on the interstate through GF is a convenience not to be overlooked as Fargo has entered road construction season.

Good point. I am writing a letter to Steinbrenner & Epstein to IMMEDIATELY cancel the poisonous rivalry between the Yankees & Red Sox. CC Fargo South - Fargo North, Red River - Central, and virtually every soccer team in Europe. Surely those fans will catch our fever to temper the competitiveness of our 2 flagship universities. Now that's "Minnesota Nice"!! If you can tell me that you never enjoyed this rivalry from a tractor in the fall, sitting on a bench at Dakotah Field or Memorial Stadium, while picking off some birds in Northern Minnesota or poking friendly fun at fans from the other team AND you are a Bison fan, I'm not sure you have any business here. Try reading. Non-competitively of course. We don't need to beg for this game b/c clearly it's good for the entire area. I think that Michigan & Michigan State play each other every year and neither city has burned down. Same for Texas - Texas Tech (minus the burn down part), Colorado - Colorado State, etc. and every other rivalry that makes college football wonderful.
