  1. Any chance of Eids seeing the ice this weekend? I would assume if Dell had an awful game Friday night, Brad would have a chance at starting on Saturday...but, Dell I would assume is pretty much a lock for at least Friday. I would think if Dell played poorly Friday, he still might get the start Saturday.

Here's my guess. If Dell is sharp Friday, I think we see him Saturday. Sioux have a non-conference series the following weekend. I think we'll see both goalies against Notre Dame.

  2.:lol: Perhaps the editor should have read a few lines of the story before writing the headline. His poor journalist is mortified.

    Quotes from his Twitter:

"Blais ready for series against Bison." I am mortified"

"Thankfully, the online edition hedder doesn't have Blais formerly coaching a school that doesn't have Division I hockey"

"I want to crawl under a rock."

"Today is a day I'd support me crawling under a rock and weeping."

Sounds like he has a sense of humor about it anyways. Thanks for sharing. I am gonna follow this guy for at least the next week.

  3. In Dell's case it would have been a goal. The puck went between his head and his glove with plenty of room to spare to his shoulder. It was a matter of an inch that prevented the goal.

Dell already knew that it was not going to go in the net so my guess is he intentionally avoided the puck (once he made that determination as the puck was half way to the net) as to not slow down/redirect it into the net. Because like I said earlier, on Friday night Dell had the ability to make that determination.

You see where this is going?

  4. Because if a puck hits the post or crossbar it means the shooter beat the goalie...sure it doesn't count for anything, but had it been a fraction closer to the net, it could have been a very different result.

For example, during Friday's UND/Wisconsin game, each goaltender got beat once. Gregoire beat Gudmanson for a goal, and a Badger (Smith?) beat Dell, but it hit crossbar. It could have been a very different game based on fractions of an inch.

Had it been a fraction closer to the net, Dell may have made the save. So essentially Dell did not get beat. Wisconsin does not get credit with a shot on net because Dell was not required to make a save to prevent a goal. I do get your point, but hitting a post does not mean you beat the goalie. Unless of course it hits the post then goes in the net.

  5. Great weekend test - the talent is in place, now we need to develop the mental toughness and attitude that champions have - the "we'll kick your ass in your place or ours" mentality. This is a good series to start to develop it. We need to continue to forecheck the crap out of our opponents. As for scoring, I hope we play a little more like Blais's NO team did last weekend. With our talent I would like to see less dump, chase, and cycle. Included in our great defensive talents are players who can move the puck. Let's take advantage of this and get more odd man rushes and better break outs. When teams figure out and stop our break outs it can be very disruptive as Yale showed last year. I thinks the odds are good that we kick some Maine butt this weekend.

    What number are you?

  6. This is the post I was referring to.

MN network channels it will be on....these are the over the air broadcasts for folks with an antenna

    * KWCM-TV (10.3) Appleton / KSMN (20.3) Worthington

    * KSMQ-TV (15.4) Austin/Rochester

The game is also on for satellite folks (both dish and direct) in the Minneapolis market (if your locals are from Minneapolis) on 22 (KAWB PBS Brainerd/Bemidji) at 7:30/7:00 and replayed at midnight. Cable folks you may or may not have access to KAWB (Northern MN will) or the MN channel. Check listings on zap2it or titantv :)

  7. Im illiterate when it comes down to this stuff. Im understanding the rabbit ears thing but... So if I have midco digital cable and a LED/LCD flat screen, I can buy rabbit ears and plus it into my t.v. and somehow turn to 3.3? :D

I don't know because I have never hooked up a digital antenna (different than the old rabbit ears) to my tv. In an earlier post I read it stated "over the air broadcasts" on PP which I took as through an antenna. I'm not good with this stuff either. I can't get ch. 3.3 on my cablebox but on my LCD with digital tuner in my bedroom I get ch 3.3. I'm hoping it will be on that channel. I do have Prairie Public on my Hi-Def list on the cablebox but I don't know if it is the Minnesota channel. Hopefully someone good with stuff will chime in.

  8. Folks - IMHO it is past time to move on. There are games and playoffs to focus on. This is over and done with. Let it be a distraction for SCSU, but not the Sioux.

As a fan I don't worry much about focusing on upcoming games and playoffs. I'll leave that for the guys actually lacing up the skates.

  9. When was this on? I am interested in hearing this. Which pod cast is it? Is this on the PA show or another KFAN show?

I would guess if it was 5:30 it would be on the Barreiro podcast. How does gravy fingers Gorg make it in that business? The guy is the biggest cementhead on television. He is the reason I quit watching the Wild.

  10. Flickertails is unmarketable with Gophers next door.

And there's another problem in today's world .... FLICKERS ...

So, what word did you see there? :)

Never thought of that. A guy could really have some fun making signs.....LETS GO FLICKERS.

  11. Since I do not get FSN Rocky Mountain I did not know about this. I did see those games on FCS which picked up the FSN RM feed, but unfortunately it was only in SD. This weekend will be my first time seeing the Sioux in HD on the BTN, but lucky for me it will be from my DVR as there will be several of us heading to "The John" for the games.

Sioux/Gophers week - what could be better? Go Sioux!

I get the FSN Rocky Mountain feed on FCS from time to time but on Midco that is not available in HD.

  12. And it'll be on in HD :(

Could this be the first time the Sioux have ever been broadcast in HD? I realize that the frozen four was on ESPN2 HD but it was not broadcast in HD. I can't think of a game that the sioux played in that was in HD. Anyone?

  13. Sadly, perhaps, our plans have changed.

We now have two extra singles for both Wisconsin games that we bought on TM. Great seats.

    Center ice.

    Friday, 116/Row O. 101/Row E.

    Saturday, 116/Row O. 102/Row F.

Paid the TicketBastard $48.93 each, with fees, and will round that up to $55 each to cover shipping,

fast delivery to you, and handling.

I would be willing to take the other Saturday ticket if still available.

  14. Whats the deal with the game tonight? I have been hearing rumors that it will not be played due to bad ice conditions and a gongshow of a performance by Dane Cook last night. Any one else hear this?

  15. What a tough loss to swallow! I know it's early in the season still, but you like to see the boys win against teams that they should easily beat! They need to shoot the puck more and attack the net!

They have a long ways to go this season if they want to get far at all!!

*shakes head*..still a tough loss to swallow. :silly:

    Speaking of swallow,...presenting new mascot!

  16. Those are nice points, again, after watching Toews and Oshie play this year how is it possible either is on the ice with an NHL franchise next season? Not saying their bad players, but given the play of them this year I don't see either cracking the line up in either city. If Bochenski takes scoring 11+ goals and getting name AHL player of the week in Norfolk to get called up how is Toews going to be anywhere but Norfolk? And as bad as St. Louis is, I don't TJ Oshie replacing anyone in the St. Louis Line up.

    Goon, you crack me up.
