  1. Well I just got back from the game so I'll give my opinion. The second goal Phil gave up was extremely weak. I think it definitely did not help his chances of playing the third period. The third goal was not really his fault. He did drop down early but it was put in the top right corner. Very nice shot. However, we got totally mugged on the attacking end and we got out of position which led to the rush. So basically Adam cost us that goal. Also Wisconsin tried running the goalie alot. If that keeps up tomorrow, there might be some extra entertainment.

We had many chances to tie at the end and could not put it in. The chemistry is not there. Hopefully they can figure it out. I was impressed with Bina tonight but also was impressed with Chorney's shot. That thing is a laser and gives us a good chance to tip it in. He needs to shoot more when he is in the zone. Also the penalty Porter took in third was idiotic. We were already down 1 man and he wasn't out of position or anything and he just slashed the guy in the open. Pretty sure you need to keep your cool in that situation.

Anyways I guess we gotta hope for a split tomorrow. I am getting tired of also having to be optimistic about the season. They need to start showing us they want to win like they did in the Sat. CC game.

  2. While I think it would have been difficult for UND to win this game, I do believe that the Sioux are a much better team than they've shown today. That's the sad part about the way this game has gone.

I agree. It would have been nice to see GV score off long drives instead of starting at our 35 or taking that fumble back for a TD.

  3. Pretty pathetic defensive performance. It's not like they're doing anything surprising.

It is pathetic but that running into the punter penalty really hurts. We can't let them stop us on offense if we give them "get out of jail free" cards.

  4. dont quote me on it, but rumor has it the ncaa denied wdaz/wday's request to broadcast the game.

That would be a major shot below the belt to all football fans in the state if that happened. If its true, then way to promote the athletes... ???:silly:;)

  5. The key to winning this game - simple - leave the agressive offense uncorked and stop playing conservative like we seem to do every time we play Omaha. This is not the time to tighten up. A look at the film the last two weeks should show how effective we can be when we play loose. I know that not going for it on 4th and 1 has been discussed at length, but look what a big difference one loss has had on our rankings. We need to play to win plain and simple.

Exactly. When we played UNI, we knew they were going to be tough to beat so we threw everything at them. And that didn't turn out to bad. You need to look at UNO in the same light.

  6. Unfortunately, even if USD wins and we win there is no guarantee we get home field. It goes to a bidding process and then is decided by the NCAA. We have two strikes against us. The poor showing in the first round and the fact that the NCAA hates us.

I thought this was just for the semifinals. Maybe I am wrong, but I thought the team with the higher seed got homefield until the semifinals because then there are multiple teams of similar seeds. So I think we would have a home game against USD if we were both to win.

  7. You guys are right...

We are running out of room anyway to store all those National Championship Football Trophies..?

At Least we outdrew those powerhouse Div 1aa match-ups of..

    #9 New Hampshire vs #19 Maine...Attendance 4834

    #6 James Madison vs #23 Towson...Attendance 4533

We might only have 1 NC but I think the recent playoff track record speaks for itself. Its not like we are shutting down the FB program after the first week in November.

And it doesn't look like the school down south is having any trouble and we know they weren't having any recent playoff sucess before they left.

  8. Got back from the game, there did seem to be quite a few injuries on both sides. It seemed like every ten minutes someone was on the ground and they had to help them off the field. Exagerating a little bit there, but still. I think that Strouth is done for awhile. I was looking right at it when it happened and it was something to do with his knee. He couldn't put any weight on it when they were taking him off the field. That is about all that happened that you guys hadn't covered. It was a bit of a blow away game.

Yes some of those late injuries do not look very good at all.

  9. Ok so far I've gotten Papa Roach - Not Listening and Shinedown - Heroes , so does anyone know the other songs that are played during warmups??

Follow Me by Breaking Benjamin is the third song and the first song I think is by the Offspring but I don't know the name of it.

  10. The one thing that I have noticed is that Grieco seems to freeze the puck more than Phil. Now I know you don't want to always have faceoffs in the zone but it sometimes helps to get a whistle and a line change (especially on the PK). With Phil, it seems like the game tempo is faster since he plays the puck most of the time. I don't know if the glove rection time is the reason for this but it has struck me as a difference between the two.
