There is no problem with you backing out of the NDSU games. But why insist on playing NDSU now? They dont want to play you right now. They want you to lie in your own bed. Why your AD and you fans are so excited about getting back on the NDSU Bison Schedules is easy to see. The Fabulous Fargo Dome is the largest venue in the State. You just dont get the attention up there. Hockey has great broadcast coverage but it doent get the coverage like BISON football, at least not in the Fargo Forum. I would never say the hockey wasnt big. My point is the need for your football team and basketball teams to get to Fargo. This is the largest and most covered sports market in the State and you guys apparently need it badly.

NDSU did play you in baseball after their move. I didnt see NDSU getting sued so Im sure no contract was broken when the Bison decided to play against teams in its own division and drop you. Possibly you have a copy of the contract? Not playing NDSU hurt them, but they are past that. You may never recover if you dont get back on the Bison schedules. Its tough to be bigtime in this state without playing NDSU. I think the chances of seeing UMary in the Fabulous Fargo Dome and at the BSA are greater then seeing you guys. In fact I think UMary was in Fargo last year for a BB game? But I digress. Carry on with the history rewrites. Please dont forget to explain the playoff ramifications of a DI NDSU on your BB, vollyball, softball and soccer teams.

Well, considering the history of the NCC, NDSU would be a lot better off with you in some other conference. Its nice to think the dream is almost reality, but you are right about one thing: there is going to be some huge changes before you get a bid to any conference. For NDSU the big break came with Chicago State leaving the Mid Con. Now with WKU looking to move football to DI-A it might mean another big break for the Land Grants and the Gateway. That would leave the GWFC wide open for you and USD. If Augi moves up the basketball affiliation the SUs started would find new life since three members have now been accepted into the Mid Con. That view of the future is at least grounded in a little reality. Your modest proposals require a rewrite of the entire landscape. Thank goodness NDSU isnt broke and has a conference. Its a lot nicer than dreaming for a handout and the long shot conference bid.

Believe me there is no shortage of fans hoping you get the BSC bid. The best thing for NDSU and SDSU would be your school to the BSC. Of course, after the BSC morphs into a conference that actually needs you it might not be all you thought. But dream on, dream until the dream comes true.

I think your first year you still play in D2. Your second year you count as a D2 for your DI opponents and a DI opponent for your D2s. You might get a game in your third year but why? NDSU doesnt need to schedule you. You need to schedule NDSU. No secret strategy needed by you guys. The plan has already been rolled out. Resist and try to derail the NDSU move as much as possible and if that doesnt work move up ourselves taking advantage of their success. It is working just fine. Its been much admired by all, and you can see how effective its been in gaining respect and winning over fans.

Are you serious? You may have had an excuse for the football situation, but what about the other sports? There were no playoff implications in BB or softball or vollyball. Speculation runs wild! This entire thread is an example of nonesense. There are no secret deals. Every school making the move that has had a conference invite in hand did not keep it a secret. When Dr. Taylor made his statement it did look like the BSC was a lock. It wasnt, and unless things change they wont be moving east. The comments about SDSU are right in line with the same insights I read regarding the conference(s) of your future. In a word rediculous! My advice, get in line and hope both NDSU and SDSU vote yes if you do come with hat in hand looking for a spot at the table. In the meantime, from what Ive been reading you should organize a bake sale or two just to get some pocket money for your eventual move up.
