  1. midcontinent was quick to cut off that espn feed...no post game commentary on tv, but hopefully Tim can catch us up on the radio. Excellent job Phil!
  2. I think you are referring to "Miseria Cantare (The Beginning)" by AFI
  3. it sounds like the game will possibly be delayed due to a power outage that happened at the rink...according to the radio broadcast
  4. squirtcoach has a point though...don't know of many other markets that black out their own home games to turn a profit, or to try to get people to come to the games.
  5. *shakes head* keep throwing those rainbows Rex...the Colts defense loves them
  6. *crosses fingers* c'mon Bears...both the defense and the offense has to step it up !
  7. I agree...Phil played a great game. There seems to be a lack of emotion (except for goals) when it comes to the majority of the play. If Phil is the one that needs to make the awesome save and make sure UAA knows about it, and rub it in their face, then kudos to him. With the pace of play at certain times last night, the Sioux could have used an emotional kick start. There may be guys on the bench that can stir up some "go get 'em" mentality in the players, but on the ice, be it a big hit, awesome play that just misses, a great save, or even an icing when we really need a line change; those things need to be sources of inspiration for the Sioux. I think Prpich was excellent at getting guys going with his leadership. Phil's actions at the end of the game topped off what I was thinking about the whole UAA team, and especially the goalie. If you're going to roam from the crease to play the puck, that's your problem, not the guy who is going for the puck. I am a goalie with 15 years of experience myself, so I wouldn't say goalies are fair game for body checks, but every time the UAA goalie played the puck last night, we went for the puck, not the goalie. I don't think we would stoop to the level of taking out goalies intentionally. All I could think of when the UAA goalie was talking with the ref was "would you like some cheese with that whine?" jeez...the ref can't call a penalty after the play just because you told him to lol. Let your play do the talking, not your unsportsmanlike playing up of apparent 'penalties'. Kudos to Phil, again...he gave me the best laugh I had this week.
  8. Not saying that I want them to leave the Sioux, but the 'Hawks sure do need the help...Savard is a great coach to learn from.
  9. Talking down to Sioux fans on a Sioux fans forum does not help your "logical reasoning" argument. Your analysis for associating children with a logo debate is quite low on the ladder of 'logical arguments.' If you have been hurt, remove yourself from the apparent problem you have with us. If your children have been hurt by it, do the same. You can control, to an extent, what you see and hear every day about "hostile and abusive" nicknames. If I'm misunderstood, it is up to the parent to take care of their children, so are you not somewhat responsible for what they are exposed to? Your libel is quite inappropriate in calling North Dakotans guilty of child endangerment. If you want to make it a problem, then you can certainly make a stink, like you have, in these forums. Granted, you may be one for insisting 'facts' without basis (covering up incidents...I'm not sure that any one person in ND doesn't know about the Sioux name debate), but if you were in Grand Forks, you'd have to look long and hard to see blatant racism toward the Sioux tribe, name, or logo. Creating a problem without suggesting a solution besides assuming false facts and saying 'change the name'...doesn't sound like you have any basis for argument.
  10. I'm a student, and I'll be sitting outside the student section for tonight's game v. St. Cloud, so I'll be doing all the chants along with the rest of the students on the other side of the rink. Having some more people outside the student section cheering, or clapping along with the band's beat, or originating some "LETS GO SIOUX", or even a "SIOUX YEAH YEAH" would really impress the students, and make the whole place a lot louder than it even is. Rumor is that the Ralph is already the toughest place for opposing teams to play in, why not make it that much harder? Having some coordinated chants on the fascia that surrounds the rink is a very good idea, and I occasionally see the school song up while the band plays it, but the only time that these would be able to be shown would be in an intermission or stoppage in play. My friend is the production manager for the women's games, and the fascia isn't supposed to have animation during the play...we could get some fan towels or signs though as a promotion...we have a Bobcat Powerplay and a Rydell Goal...gotta get the fans some give away so we all have something to do in common. I am also a goalie that has played about 15 years of hockey, and from experience, no matter how hard you try to block out the "sieve" chants, it is something that is in your head...anything to get the goalie off his game helps a lot. I wish we could have built up a little more momentum against Maine to get into the yeti's, I mean, the 6'7" goalie's head. Have an awesome weekend everyone!
