I wholly disagree with your take on Husky fans. The St. Cloud 'respect' thingy is pretty funny. But in talking to the Husky fans I know, they mean to earn the respect by finally winning in the Tourney and don't have a sense of entitlement to it. I have been to NHC at least 10 times over the past few years. I always get treated well, get shots and beers bought for me hand over fist at McRudy's, O'Hara's, 1st Ave, and have gotten to know quite a few of them very well. The ones I know are hardcore Husky fans with a great deal of respect for the Sioux; they laugh at their lowly NCAA 'participation' banner when I bring them up to GF; they're knowledgable about most WCHA programs. And NHC...you called it a barn...and sure its a small, dumpy, low ceilinged, crackerbox with loud fans sitting right on the ice. Remind you of anything? For a fan who loved the oldRalph, its a GREAT place to see a hockey game.

Having been introduced to Sioux hockey in 1980-82 era, I have to say Wisco. I HATED Kliesinger! Its not as fun to hate them with the down years they've been having, but they'll come around soon enough.

Granted...its hard to complain with our record this year...but goaltending is certainly the weakness, so I'll chime in. I saw Siembida at Mariucci last year when he showed up mid-season and he looked alright--until the league figured out he drops fastern'a two dollar hooker. He has the abililty to make some great saves, but puts himself out of position far too often for me (or Blais?) to have any confidence in him. Brandt has surprised me this year--but as someone already pointed out--the D has been stellar. Last I checked, Sedevie is having a poor year. So I'd be surprised if he shows up at the break.

Hey fellow Sioux fans. I've been a fan since my junior high days watching Phil Sykes and Co in the early 80s...and an early 90s' UND grad. I've been lurking around this board and USCHO for awhile but haven't posted too much. Looking forward to my first trip up from Mpls to the newRalph this weekend--with 4 Husky fans in tow. Last time I brought them up was 2000-01 when the Sioux swept both games with 3rd period flurries--long drive home for those poor bastards! So I'm looking for a repeat of that, or at least 3 points; and a trip to the Pepper, Whiteys, Blue Moon, the Bun, etc. A couple concerns about this weekend if you all can help me out. Any word on pre-game Ralph tributes? Should we get their early? Also, we're short 1 ticket for both games and plan on buying Thursday morning on line/via phone. If not, we'll try to buy one at the arena...but are we going to be out in the cold because are tickets in higher demand than usual b/c of any Ralph tribute? Thanks. See ya Friday!
