Excuse me if I missed anything from previous posts, but will ask anyway.  Is there one airport among LGA, JFK or EWR that would favor the cheapest, easiest & shortest transfer to NYC Penn Station?  Newark seems to fit that bill but am wondering if other experienced fliers have an opinion?  At the moment, the fares from MSP among these three are the same.

I would think JFK would be the easiest. You can take a train and not have to deal with any roads.

I fly to NYC frequently.  Newark is a train ride away,, around $12.50.  You can come in from JFK via the Airtrain & Subway for $7.50 on the E train. To come in from LGA on public transportation you'll have to take a combination of buses and the subway, or a cab for about $35.  I'd choose Newark or JFK, depending on the airfare.

  2. My IOS feed doesn't work either, and the UND sports feed is in and out. On top of that, after you get back on you have to endure the commercial you didn't want to see the first time. For a pay site this is simply unacceptable.

  3. Unless I missed it, I've not seen anyone post anything about the number of hits delivered by each team - at one point during the game they flashed it on the TV screen and it HEAVILY favored the Sioux. I have to believe that it was a factor. There's a good argument to be made that the Sioux wore them down.

  4. Minny fans should be happy...now they are virtually guaranteed a 4th place finish (something they had trouble reaching recently) in their new conference...well at least until Penn State gets a few scholarship players and tOSU stops sucking so much...Still, 6th place isn't so bad, right? :)

    A moral victory

  5. I'm sorry, but watching FSN tonight, I'm totally distracted by Gorg. Anyone want to start a pool on when the pressure on buttons on his suit jacket will send them flying at the camera? I'm wondering how he even got that thing buttoned. He looks like he's in a sausage casing.

  6. I am really toying with the idea of a one day road trip. Does anyone have any ideas of a place where I can get a cheap flight from Bismarck to Denver for Thursday. Is it going to be easy to get tickets also? Give me some advise if you have any.

For whatever it's worth, you might also try www.kayak.com I use it frequently for business flying - not always the cheap cheap flights, but it gives you a wide variety of times and airlines.

  7. As much as I'd like to believe in a conspiracy, after watching that game tonight I'd have to say that Minnesota out-worked and out-hustled SCSU. The Huskies looked slow, disorganized, and lathargic. They didn't deserve to win the game and the score certainly doesn't indicate how badly they were out played.

I just got home from the game.. I thought Shepherd was the number one star. Once again, he inserted himself into the center of what might have been a good flowing hockey game.

  8. He needs do to some time before treatment. He will learn the facts of life real fast in either St. Cloud or Stillwater. Even a stint in the HCWH would do him a world of good. Coddeled children sometimes need a slap in the face to realize what it is all about. How many people do you know that have done time in either St. Cloud or Stillwater?

I think there's a fundamental misunderstanding here. No one is saying Hagemo shouldn't be accountable for his actions, but from everything that I've read (and there hasn't been much available) this kid isn't a hardened criminal. For most people, the humiliation of having the story of your arrest and your picture in the paper is a pretty good "slap in the face".

We know precious little about what's transpired in the last few months of his life, and frankly it's between Nate and his family (and now the court system) to work it out. I still wish him the best.

  9. Anyone who has never self-medicated with any substance for any reason may cast the first stone. Chronic pain is a monster, the addiction process is very complex and often mis-understood by those who have no experience with it.

I hope the kid has the support structure and mental wherewithal to beat this. I wish him the best.

Well said. Life is about second chances and redemption. Here's hoping Nate is surrounded by supportive, non-judgmental family, friends and former team mates. Looking backward serves no constructive purpose - he has a long and hopefully very productive life ahead of him. Good luck, Nate.
