    Future

Now that spring football is over with, we have like 3 months until football is finally here again. I just wonder what people think next season will be like. The sioux have lost a lot of players, and that has occured on both sides. Hopefully we wont loose anyother players during this summer time. Who do you think our offensive keys to succes will be, and who do you think our defensive keys to success will be. Our Corner spot seems very competative with numbers, and no one really outshining the other, which should be interesting. I think all of our linebacker spots are jamm packed, and we should some solid play no matter who is in. We also have the d line spots open. I heard two guys quit just recently, which would be unfortunate. But any info is appreciated.
  3. Just a reminder though Im sure no one will forget that the spring game is tomorow at 2 pm. I suggest you get there early to catch a good seat of the action. I know we are all hoping for an injury free game in which the players who have worked sooo hard, will have the opportnity to show what they can do, and have fun. Im sure we will see some nasty ness as well since the offense and defense have been going at each other for the past month or so, and can get sick of each other. Any last minute changes that anyone knows about? I heard a rumor our recieving cor would be low, due to Grossman sitting out and possibly Ahlers. I dont think Hoffschneider or Greenwood are playing, nor WIlson, Vanderpahn, Murphy, and Guenther. Other than that we should see all the redshirt freshman in live action finally, so good luck to all. Ill see you at the ALerus
  4. Does anyone have any information on the sioux defense?
  5. I know that the sioux had a scrimmage today. Does anyone have any information on how players did, and if we had any injuries
  6. From what I have heard Jason Hoffshneider things are going a bit rough. He is coming off of a hamstring injury, and a pulled hamstring. I heard Michael Greenwood is the most impressive of the corners right now. But I think when Hoffshneider is healthy, he will be on the field.Ullsperberger is having a great spring. He is going with the 2's in team and inside due to TOm Irvin being out until the fall. I hear he has looked great, and shows that he has great instinct. I hear he has the Digger Anderson type nose for the ball, which can only be promising. Wolf is stuck at a position in which there are like 8 defensive ends. Reps come sparingly, yet I think that will only be for a short time. The winter that he had, and how he tested are testaments, to the fact that he is ready to play easily on this level. Babington-Johnson is having a good spring also. I heard he is soooo quick off of the ball and is running plays down backside, behind the line of scrimmage. He even got a pick, if my sources are correct. Travis Lueck is having a tough spring, just because he is a 3 on the chart. I hope this isnt for long, since he is one of the most complete recievers that we have. Yet Dan Grossman has looked impressive, and so has Jamel Alkins. Lee Grueschol is the only freshman that might see time offensively. His footwork is good, and he is sooo quick and fast on the field . With Bowenkamp being a captian, he wont start, but he could get some very educational reps.
  7. On departures, Shad Carney, Brian Lowe, Ross Brennan, Ross Walker, Demetrius Charles have all left the team for diffrent reasons, yet the sioux will still be ok. I too am interested in who will start at quarterback. Greoschel is definately respected coming in, yet he will have to do a lot to get the starting nodd. You also have to look at the leadership side, and Freshman have a tough time running the squad. Yet hopefully like the national championship year defense will lead, and that would lessen the load if he did get the starting nod at quarterback. Dont forget about David Wistoff as a running back utility guy, and I wouldnt be surprised if we see some position changes with certain guys after this spring. I think our strength will be LB's sateties, and running backs as far as depth. Yet no position will be slacking. I applaud coach lennon for once again putting things in place to make another run. I wouldnt mind winning a national championship one year, and then having a down year, if that was the repetative cycle, we just cant wait another 105 years.
  8. WIth spring ball less than 2 weeks or maybe a few days more away, I hope other sioux fans are getting as excited as I am. UND has one more day of testing, but I heard that things have been going well, and we should be looking at a very successful season. I heard that Adam Wolfe who has been moved to DE, ran a sub 4.7 40 which is impressive for 275 pounds. Hoffshneider didnt run i believe due to some injury, nor did mahmoud due to track, alkins injury . I heard travis Luek ran a 4.5 something as did Jamaal Franklin, Dan Grossman, Tony Hermes, and Zach Babington-Johnson. If my sources are correct Adam Stratton ran a .... 4.40!! That is excellent. The sioux should be faster on both sides of the ball. I am eager to see how things go, and i believe their first practice is in the Alerus on a Saturday . The 28 or 29 or something. I wonder if the public can attend. I believe it starts at noon or something. Well this would be the time to hear who you think will start at what position, and other hot gossip to spice things up . I will try and do my part.
  9. DO you have any idea what they want him to play here? As much info as anyone can find will be great. He sounds big, will they still redshirt him
  10. I know that all of us thirst for UND news and information especially for football. The gophers have a message board thats full of things 15 times a day. We should start being more involved since we all love it. Lets start giving info or breakdowns of players or something to get us through until spring ball.
  11. I am interested in the players that UND will be recruiting . WHo are they really high on, and who is really high on them. What positions any names any must get players out there please infrom all of us asap.
  12. This was the first weekend of the crucial recruiting. I understand that the sioux had guys down this weekends. One was a corner from Canada, I couldnt find much else on him but he looked like he had decent size. There was a lineman down, and a defensive linebacker. From what I have heard they all are into UND. This is all I have if anyone else has more please post
  13. Does anyone know how all this has been addressed with the team? I recall when Coach Chapman left, the players said they were told by him that he declined and was staying, then the next day he changed his mind. This could hurt the moral of our team. I just want to know who would take over? WOuld they do an interim coach or what?
  14. I am very concerned. This can hurt recruiting in a huge way. One if the coach leaves at the beginning and crucial stages of the recruiting that would definately make an impact. THat combined with our record last year and we might have some troubles in a serious way. I hope that it doesnt. But looking to the future how would this impact the next coach. Do you think they would hire someone from inHouse. LIke Schwaggert, or Mussman? Or go find someone. I hope this situation is cleared up sooner before later.

Ive done some research. Hoffshneider is said to be one of the best corners we have had around in years.had the second highest bench of the freshman class. He might be one of the top 3 dbs strength wise on the team. His forty is around 4.6 and under. He is a big sticker and has great footwork and football insticts. I guess they are looking at him playing soon. He has ok grades which shouldnt be a problem. He should be a big name for four years. He will most likely start and be the lockdown corner. Expect him to be challenged often by opposing teams but after a few games they wont think of going his way. Ullsberger is a player with great instict and intensity. Could be in the same class as Digger. He was forced to sit out of the last part of their freshman scrimmage just because he knocked down and then cussed at an offensive player. But thats the mean streak we like our Linebackers to have. His speed isnt the greatest and he isnt one with brute strength but he will be a force by the time he is a junior. Probably playing next to Digger. He wont start next year but will get much needed experience time , which will prevent us from having a drop off when the second team comes in. Babington-JOhnson is extremely fast and explosive according to coaches. They say he might be one of the best they have seen in a while. They say they have never seen someone get off the ball quicker. His ability to get to the quarterback is unreal. I guess he had the starting o line complaining about him going too hard. NOrthern Colorado week he did a better Dunn impresion than DUnn himself. He definately would be better if he got stronger and bigger. Put 15 pounds on him and that would be great. Though that still might put him at 205. I hear he is like 190 right now. I guess the coaches are already planning to make a tough decision as far as the starting zeke. But I would love to have he and Hermes on the field at the same time. With TOny at stud that would give us experience. I guess spring ball will be exciting at a lot of positions.

Ok well this is my first post ever, but I have a few questions. Please tell me more, as in depth as possible about the games/strengths/weaknesses of Ullsberger, Hoffshneider, and Babington-Johnson. I have heard all of there names a lot. I believe Hoffshneider is the only one that has a chance at a spot next year. Hermes and Digger prevent the other two from that right? or am I wrong. I thought since we lost christofferson that maybe hermes would move over to stud. Leaving Dahlen and BJ. which would win that battle? What about Joshua Bransted will he be playing behind stratton for another season, people seem to forget about him? And how serious is Lennon looking at another school? THis would hurt recruiting seriously!!! I will also research this info and try to give any answers but whom ever(single or collectively) can answer ALL these would be appreciated. At least about the three freshman and the LB situation. Thanks
