Just heard from Ryan's father Jay, he signed with the Flyers!! Go Ryan and good luck.

If anyone has other pictures of Prp getting under players' skins or video clips of Prp, I'd like to make arrangements to have any clips or pictures of him sent to me through e-mail. Prp has been one of my all-time favorite players since he was a rookie. I love his feistiness, attitude, his antics are great, and I love how he's always coming to the bench with a smile after he's been punched in the face or in a scruffle with anyone. He is one heck of a player, a Sioux great!! He will be forever missed by the fans, and I really hope that the Sioux can find someone who will take over his role as antagonist. I think Kaip has a great personality similarity to Prp to be his replacement or maybe even Travis' brother Darcy next year.

Carle, Potulny and Elliott are all three very deserving of the Hobey Baker Award. Personally, I would vote for Potulny because he's a local kid. I grew up neighbors with Ryan, and I would definitely love to see him win this award. I know his father Jay very well, family friends as a matter of fact, and I am rooting for the local stud. Potulny and Carle will be hurt by the fact that the NCAA usually picks a winner who's team advances to the Frozen Four. I would say that Elliott, Chris Collins of Boston College and Greg Moore of Maine will be the front runners only because their teams are playing in the Frozen Four. The three best players though would be Potulny, Carle and Elliott in no particular order.

I'd have to give my vote to a number of players from last year to this year. Erik Fabian has really stepped up this year as a leader on the team. A grinder who doesn't score many points, he took charge of the team last spring in that memorable run and left off this year all season long giving 100% on every single shift, mucking it up in the corners, banging away with opposing players, blocking shots, and forechecking extremely hard. Rylan Kaip, another great example of hard work and positive attitude. Last year he was sidelined with the post-concussion syndrome, never really got an opportunity to get into a groove and had a great attitude and work ethic all season long this year. He created numerous chances, but the puck just seemed to defy him and never went in. He finally was rewarded at the WCHA Final Five with two HUGE goals to help come back to defeat the Badgers!!! He's made some great passes to teammates for goals, scored a couple goals now, has had some awesome chances to score and hit posts or crossbars, even got denied on a penalty shot. Matt Smaby is an example of true leadership and experience at this level. He really helped those young D come into their own, he's brought along all the freshmen D to the level needed for competing night in and night out in the toughest conference in the country. He has really impacted some games with bone-crushing checks, he leads by example. He works hard, helps out on the power play, does some penalty killing, blocks shots, takes on opposing teams' best players and gives the team an adrenaline rush with his play on defense. I can't think of any other players who've improved as greatly as Fabian, Kaip or Smaby in my mind unless someone gives a solid explanation to change my mind. That is why these three greats will have my vote for now.

I would like to give a shout out to all fellow Sioux fans here on SiouxSports.com as a brand new poster of the Sioux hockey world. I just had a blast at the NCAA West Regional, my voice is extremely hoarse from all the yelling during the Holy Cross upset of the Golden Chokers. It was such a fantastic weekend, and I can't wait for the Frozen Four in two weeks. I'm in the process of finding tickets, but haven't found any yet. Hope to see the Sioux hang up banner #8 to the collection, and show the NCAA that the Sioux rule the Division I hockey world!! I would also love to find a picture of that fight between Prpich and Marco Peluso of Minnesota-Duluth. I'll give my e-mail address to whoever says they've got the picture I'm looking for.
