What is the meaning/significance of playing Sweet Caroline?
It keeps that crowd loud and engaged unlike many of the songs they have played in the past 5 years.
-
It seems that the only thing sucking this weekend is the white out.
and the gophers.......but that is a permanent sucking

Just able to stalk this thread now...hard to be as diligent as i normally am coaching special olympics basketball can anyone help me out with an approx. time on the first goal?
99 seconds in, 18:21

Malone breakaway goal!!
-
Why doesn't FSSN have a ticker for Penalty Time??
Wondered that questions for 3 years now......
-
Thanks a bunch.
That "white out" is weak sauce. Go to target and buy a 3 pack of plain white t'shirts for $12 and split it with your buddies. Not hard.... There should be two colors in the stands tonight, white and a light peppering of maroon....
I know that the Ralph went out and purchased towels, but they should have purchased t-shirts. Stick a nice sponsor on the back.

Shorty!!! VV GOAL!!!
-
Was the first the goal the first time we have scored for the first whistle under the new tradition of everyone standing?
-
Wow....that "white out" is pretty poor. 50% at best.
I agree, I can't stand that some people are so stubborn that they cannot hang up their non-white jersey for one weekend

Moderately random question: Who was the rotating alternating captain last week versus MTU? I was out of town and missed the games.
Lapoint I believe

kangas the sieve, go sioux
I hope Kangas is like my ex, keeps those legs open for anyone guy to come in and score.
-
Huge Turnover, KRISTO!!!

Who fought? And were there any DQ's?

Thank You Wild for this trade!

Brendan Burke, son of Toronto GM Brian Burke was killed yesterday in a car accident. Brendan was in charge of video for the Miami University Hockey team. Sympathies go to the family.

It's been painful, but they are my team!
BTW all, I lost a bet this weekend, and unfortunately am being forced to learn to the DU Alma Mater Please help!
-
I'm posting out of pure ignorance, but my only guess. If there was a dash video of the stop, could the jury have found that he performed fine in the field sobriety tests, and there was no probable cause for a breathalyser, etc?

I also give my thumbs up to the Lynah experience. It is definitely an old school rink.
What I liked ...
Cornell pep band was very strong - gotta love a repertoire that includes the theme from Rockford Files and What Would Brian Boitano do
Playing both US and Canadian national anthems - with that UND would do this
The fans in general - had a great conversation both nights with the usher for Section O
The Ithaca area - WOW! Very scenic and tons of stuff to do. Made it up to Taughannock Falls Saturday which was very impressive.
The Olymbia driver - genie on Friday night and Minuteman on Saturday night - good stuff
The alma mater (I think that's what it was) during the 2nd Intermission with all the students singing and swaying.
Not so much ...
From my seats deep at the end of the rink, it could be difficult to see the single scoreboard on the end - also shots are not updated except between periods
Way too many banners - A team of Cornell's statue doesn't need a banner for every single NCAA appearance - also the NCAA title banners should be more prominant (obviously just a personal preference, but it's my opinion)
I may have expected too much, but the "intimidation" factor wasn't what I was expecting, other than the band it was never deafening (admittedly Cornell only led 18 minutes all weekend) and the purported "clever" cheers of the student section still consisted primarilly of variations of "you suck" chants.
Section O usher was a great guy!

Can't say enough about what a great time we had in Ithaca. The Cornell fans were great and had a blast talking to some great people at the bar. I have a link to pictures I took during the weekend. LINK
Go SIOUX!!!
Pleasure meeting you at Max's at the game, and glad I could snap a picture of ya before the game. Might run into you at a Maine game or two next season. Go Sioux,
As for the Cornell fans, my word for them would have to be cordial. Very gracious in winning and losing. Cannot believe how many people thanked us for coming, asked us questions about UND, complimented our team, and fans. And one gentlemen who was so amazed at Hakstol's modesty at the booster luncheon, called him a class act. Which he is obviously.
It was an all around great weekend, and all Sioux fans should look to attend the Cornell series if it happens again in the future. I will. I enjoyed meeting the other MD Sioux fans for drinks after the game.
-
In Ithaca will four alums, one from Buffalo, another Syracuse, and two from MD. Staying at the Holiday Inn. Go Sioux!
-
And why does Hak not use his TO. 7 seconds apart, always ground for a TO. If he uses it, were likely to not get into this 5 on 3 situation.
-
All weekend the D have done nothing but fire shots directly into guys 5-10' in front of them. Move side to side and make a lane. That is the specific reason for Lucia's goal!

Not Tony Lucia?
