  1. cell phone bills are gonna be huge!! does the AHL pick up that tab or do they have to try and afford that on their own?

You can get fairly reasonable national calling plans these days. I heard a rumor that they were going to switch from T-Mobile to Verizon, but didn't want to post anything without confirmation.

  2. Our listeners'll be surprised to learn that you're a soft-spoken young man, Killer.

    Yes, I am.

I was watching some kids play hockey the other day, five- and six-year-olds, little mites.

One kid said "I'm Killer Carlson."

He picked up his little stick, and he creamed that other kid.

How do you feel about that, Dave?

Well, Jim, the way I see it is, the kid probably would've done it anyway.

  3. That's interesting. So do you think he signed a 1-way or 2-way deal? I could very well be wrong, but my guess based on above is if 1-way: He makes great NHL money for what's left of this year (on a pro rata basis) even though he may not touch the ice (NHL or AHL).....or 2-way: he could make virtually no money this year, since he can't play AHL.......Am I even close on this? (I am ignoring bonus compensation)

  4. Well, I feel I've accomplished all I can in college. Tipped a few back at Blarney's, lost two games at the Final Five in front of 15,000 or so fans cheering for my own team, then went into an obvious anti-Gopher crowd in Grand Forks and almost pulled off a victory against Holy Cross. What possible reason can you think of for me to stick around for another season?

    For the chicks, man.

  5. How about if I lay it out like this?

If Minnesota had won the games it was supposed to have won against lesser teams, we'd now know which team was better at the end of the season.

But because the Gophers choked their season away, all you can do is come here a woof about next season.

Is that clear for you? Or do I need to draw you a picture?

    Draw a picture!

  6. On the other side of the scale, Ned, who's a college graduate and an American citizen. At Princeton you were all-Eastern?

That's what it said in the yearbook.

OK. Our lines are open. Anything you wanna know about the fascinating world of pro hockey...

Here we go. Hi there. Jim Carr. What's your question?

Hey, Dunlop, you old fart. Why don't you get outta the game and let some...

We're gonna spin some music while we wait for our next caller. Before you do that, I know a lot of kids would enjoy coming to the games to see a great veteran like Reggie skate. While we wait for our next caller, we'd like to remind you folks calling in to keep your questions within the boundaries of good taste.

  7. Dubay just admitted (though it was difficult for him), that he'd rather have Oshie on his team at this time than Kessel. Not meaning to start a huge debate here, just didn't expect Dubay to actually say what he did.

Thanks for the update. Dubay said that back in December. What's so suprising about that? Oshie was (except for possibly Potulny) the best player at the Final Five last weekend.

  8. Oshie doesn't care about ROTY. Oshie shouldn't care about ROTY. Neither does Kessel. Both of these guys would give up any and all individual accomplishments to win something with their respective teams. Oshie and Kessel are well above the sewer talk in this forum, and would likely laugh if they were ever bored enough to read about you guys whining over who deserves it. They both deserve it, and they both don't care about it.

  9. I have a question. What makes it a "home game" or a "road game"? Is it the fact that the majority of the crowd is rooting for you? Or is it because you are skating on a rink that you practice on every day for the whole season? Is that familiarity with the surroundings make it an advantage? Or is it that you have a crowd cheering for you that makes it an advantage?

You mean you have several questions. Slow it down a little, Andretti......

  10. There might have been a mythical time when the Gophers bball team wa sort of good. They (didn't according to records) make it to the NCAA Final Four because Jan was writing papers for most of their players.

Let's get basketball of this forum before I puke.

  11. If anything, they should name a model after him!

I'll take a Matt Jeep, fully loaded?

I'll take a Matt Jeepe, fully loaded?

I'll take a Greene Jeep, fully loaded?

I'll take a Jeepe, fully loaded?

I'll take a Jeepe, fully loaded, with spinners.

  12. USCHO projects the Sioux as the 3rd seed in the West region. The split with DU, along with some other help, has us controlling our own destiny. SWEET!

Yeah, cause that's exactly how its gonna end up, chief.....exactly how some website predicted, with 4 weeks of hockey remaining........oh yeah, and almost everyone still controls their own destiny at this point since conference tourney winners get into the NCAA tourney..........take a trip to the Dells for a while, ride a few duck boats, get your mind off the seedings, and come back when playoffs actually begin......... :D

  13. As well as Toews has played the last couple of weeks, unfortunately his foolish tripping penalty was the wrench that caused the wheels to come off on what could have been a 4 point weekend. I hope he continues to put the puck in the net this weekend against Tech.

Doesn't matter. None of this matters. It's still February. Everyone is laughing at Sconny right now because they are in a slump. Everyone is afraid of MN right now, but they're D and Goalies are overrated......man, out here its like taking advice from CNBC Power Lunch when trying to make good stock picks: Not Smart........It might actually be to Sconny and MNs advantage right now to lose first round WCHA playoffs: they are in the Big Dance, and they could (anyone could) use a week off to rest up......too bad we do not have the luxury of this option........who cares about McNaughton and the WCHA FF? Not me, unless you need the games to get into the Big Dance........no team should want to be #1 right now; especially not MN, who gets a big head whenever they top out.........
