There is another reason. If the building has central air, then the landlord has to pay the monthly cost of it. He can do that and raise the rent, making his apartments sound even less affordable, or he can do window units and let the tenant worry about the monthly cost of cooling the apartment.
Not true... I am a property manager for a development company, and we have central air/furnace units in each apartment in our buildings. Each apartment has it's own electric meter, and the tenant pays for the heating/cooling cost for this in their Xcel Energy bills. The only thing that we do is regular maintenance, change air filters, etc.
Anyone building new construction now that installs wall unit air conditioners is doing it on the cheap, no matter what other amenities they offer...And if anyone ever tells you that a wall unit air conditioner will cool an entire apartment, they are lying...Another way builders go on the cheap is to build rows of unheated garages that are not attached to their buildings, instead of heated underground parking.

Just because gopher fans like the Wild you don't? Talk about narrow minded. I bet whatever team you follow that there are gopher fans that do too. Once players leave college and they play for either the Wild or my other team the Hawks, I could care less if they play for the gophers. Just produce and help the team.
There are many reasons not to cheer for the Wild..That is just one of them (albeit an important one). Give me one reason I should be cheering for them... like their 'exciting" style of play (Nope)...or those Christmas tree colored uniforms (Nope)... or the broadcast team (Nope)... or because they are/were the closest team to ND (Nope)... Damn right I can be narrow minded about certain things, and doubt your opinion will change that...

I totally agree. The Wild have the ugliest uniforms in hockey, especially the red with the green, followed closely by the green with the red. I frankly don't understand why so many people who are Sioux fans like the Wild. In addition to the ugliest uniforms, the announcers are Kevin Gorg and Anthony LaPanta, 2 Gopher homers. Every time I see Gorg I want to either barf or hit him in the face. Plus, they have the same fans as the Gophers, which is the biggest reason I want the Gophers to lose. I have nothing against the Gopher players, but the fans are beyond annoying. Finally, they are probably the most boring team in the NHL to any objective observer. With all due respect to Zach Parise (who I admire and love to watch), the Wild is a team of plumbers and play the most boring style in hockey.
I couldn't have said this better myself... I just don't get why so many people here are on the Wild bandwagon... No way in Hell could I ever cheer for a team that the Rodent fans love. I do hope Parise scores every goal (unassisted) for the Wild, but I also hope they lose every game...

I would like to see the stats on how many power plays the Rodents have had in the last 5 minutes of each game this season... If only I could predict Powerball as accurately...

How could there be intent to blow the whistle when the puck was never stopped? The rebound went out to OD, he shot it in the net. The only time the puck stopped was when it was in the net.
AND... If there was intent to blow the whistle, the Ref would not have to look at the replay, as the play would have been deemed to be over...Idiots!

No goal. CC got screwed-clean goal but refs reviewed it and waived it off. 2-1, Miami.
I mixed up a long island tea, and had half of it down by the time the refs decided that there was goaltender interference....

In the 2nd period... did anyone else notice that on Cheese-stick's breakaway, he was tomahawk chopped as he shot the puck... Then LJ whiffed on the rebound (for 3rd time)...No call...The replay showed it in slow motion, although the announcers only commented on the great save(s)...
*Not that we would have scored on the ensuing power play....but it may have been a game changer....

Here's a true fact, if Jonathan Toews didn't play for the Blackhawks, 3/4 of you guys wouldn't cheer for the Blackhawks. If he was wearing a spoked "B" on his chest you guys would all be wearing Bruins jersey's... It's not outside the realm of possibility that the Wild could win this series, they just need to get Darcy back in net.

. I really have to wonder why so many of you are Mild fans... They have the same obnoxious fan base that cheers on the Rodentia, and I hate them (Rodentia) more than any team in any sport at any level. So I cannot see why I should ever cheer for them. The only good thing about them is Parise. I hope he scores every goal the Mild score in every game, as long as they lose those games... Plus they wear ugly a$$ jerseys... and have cry baby announcers like La Panta, Gorg, and Greenlay. It was refreshing and enjoyable to not have to listen to those whiney bastards tonight... Go Hawks!!-

Refs are afraid of Roy, Colorado has gotten away with pretty much anything they want. Mackinnon got hit with a good clean hipcheck in the last minute then jumped on the Wild player and punched him a couple times in the head. The punch to the back of the head and cross check to the ribs seem to be the go to moves for Colorado. Pretty sure Avs were offside on the tying goal too.
You are sounding as whiney as LaPanta and company on FoxSports.....And no, the Avs weren't offside...You must still be wearing your Matt Cooke glasses.... #GoAvs

Are you Fuc*ing high? Cooke returned to the same old cheap shot artist that he's been known as his entire career. Yes he's gone a while since his last incident, but this leopard did not change his spots...It was just a matter of time.

Was anyone else trying to use Google Chromecast? While watching on my laptop, the picture was pretty good for the most part. It did freeze up a few times... But when I tried to use ChromeCast to put the game on my TV, it froze up constantly on both laptop and TV. Also, when I tried to go fullscreen on the laptop, the cast to the TV went black... very frustrating. Anyone else have the same problems, or have any experience with Chromecast?

Unfortunately, Cary Eades will not be on any short list to coach North Dakota if the position ever opens up again. His dismissal had nothing to do with his coaching ability. He was a great player,still is a great coach, and he bleeds green. But sadly, Hak had no choice but to let him go..... and that's all I will say about it.

I really don't understand this way of thinking. The guy donates millions of $$$ to the college you seem to support. The USA is a land of opportunity(at least it was at one time), Harold Hamm was a guy who started with nothing and acheived the American dream. watchmaker49...I don't think there's any question your bringing a political issue into a great donation to the University of North Dakota.
If an Over/Under betting line had been established on how many posts this thread would have before Watchmaker 49 said something negative, the line would have opened at about 3. And I would have lost $$$ by betting the under, as I fully expected that the second post would be one of his verbal banquets ... I wonder what took him so long this time?

We used to have all campus parties at the now empty slot of land on University Avenue across from the library. Never even thought about checking an I.D. The beer distributors treated us(and other houses) like an account, they would bring signage and give us swag to give away....hell McKinnon even put the large Clydesdale in our front yard a few times. It wasn't uncommon for us to burn through 20-25 kegs at these events......times have changed.
McKinnon must have stolen the Clydesdale, since they aren't the Budweiser distributer....

Why do some of you seem to think if Nodaks wins that "Fighting" could be added to it? I would think that the name would have to stay the same as it was stated on the ballot...Otherwise the integrity of the vote process would be questioned. (As if it isn't already)
