  1. Gomez ties it up - 3-3 . I believe it was another power play goal, but I could be wrong.
  2. I would find some humor in that!
  3. Boy, the announcers are on top of the game. Nabokov hadn't been in net the entire 2nd period. They figured it out with about 2 minutes left. Too funny.
  4. 9 minutes left in the game. . . . . Slovakia is beating Sweden 2-0. Looks like Sweden will be taking on the Swiss after all. The horror of it all!
  5. Guess it was bad - #52 scored, but it was for Russia.
  6. 3-1 Russians can finish - alas, US cannot.
  7. About 7 minutes left in period 2. US outplaying Russia, as usual, just can't finish the scoring chances. Russia has iced the puck several times, trying for yet another odd man rush. (Which they have scored on twice.) It sucks to watch a team work so hard and not get a goal, only to see a team throw it out of the zone, get the odd man rush and score! UGHH!
  8. Oh my - Ovechkin LEVELED Chris Chelios (head down - bad idea!!) behind the net!! Chelios got up looking at the ref for a call. He got back at Ovechkin though by hooking him shortly thereafter. Now Chelios is sitting in the box.
  9. End of 1st - Russia leads US 2-1. US (Rolston) scored on a power play goal with 1:20 left in the period. Russia has had one even strength goal (odd man rush) and one short handed goal (Malkin - another odd man rush). Esche is in net for US and Nabokov is in net for Russia.
  10. Well said!
  11. On a slightly different note, the IIHF has sent a monitor to the Sweden-Slovakia game, as they are not happy with Sweden's coach alluding to the possibility of losing today's game on purpose so they would face Switzerland rather than Canada. Now, how in the heck are they going to prove something like that? (And, as a side note, Slovakia is leading Sweden 1-0.)
  12. Well, judging by the way they played 2/3's of the game today, you won't have to pull too hard. I rescind my earlier comment about them "righting their ship".
  13. Game over. . . . Canada escapes with a narrow 3-2 win to finish 3rd in their pool. Czech Republic will finish 4th. Canada better kiss Brodeur (31 saves - 24 of which were in the last 2 periods - most were outstanding!) as HE was the lone reason this game was a win rather than a loss. While Canada outplayed the Czech's the 1st period and the first few minutes of the 2nd, from there it was pretty much all Czech Republic. Jagr did play the whole game and I felt he played quite well (had an assist on the 1st goal). Canada had a whopping 2 shots on goal in the 3rd period.
  14. 19 seconds left to play. Czech's call a time out.
  15. About 3 minutes left to play. Canada has resorted to the trap.
  16. It is a good thing Brodeur showed up for this game, as he is what is keeping them in this right now! He has had some AMAZING saves!!
  17. About 12 minutes into the 3rd period. Score is 3-2 Canada. . . . .but, they are doing their darndest to give the game away. Just took another penalty to give the Czech's another power play. Canada is hanging on by the skin of their teeth right now and so continually giving the Czech's the extra man advantage is going to get them one of these times. Too much time left on the clock!!
  18. Ooops, guess I should keep my mouth shut about Canada's play. 3-1. . . Czech's scored on 2 man power play on a blast from Kubina. Still have 1:45 on power play. Yikes, could be 3-2 before long. Czech's looking much better this period. Have Canada back on their heels a bit.
  19. WOW - Brodeur!!!! What a save on Jagr! Czech's are putting the pressure on, big time. Brodeur has come up HUGE a couple of times and also has gotten very lucky at least twice! This game could very easily be tied right now! Anyway, it is a great game!!
  20. Canada sure appears to have righted their ship, as they are beating the Czech Republic 3-0 after one. If they continue to play as they are right now, I have to agree with them cruising to another Gold. (Maybe they figure they can't be one-upped by their women's team?? )
  21. So does that mean it is still 3-0 GPR or would that have made it 3-2?
  22. Bismarck will move on after beating Dickinson 3-1.
  23. You are correct in all matchups. Bismarck/Dickinson will play about 1:30, Hazen/Devils Lake will play around 4:00 and Williston/Minot will play around 6:30.
  24. Dickinson 3 - Century 2 . . . .final.
  25. Dickinson 3 - Century 2 . . . . . . about 7 minutes left in regulation.
