I think the Sioux are 8-1-1 against both these teams...and yup, it still hurts.
I'm cheering the Dogs because of Sandy, plus the Denver media here drives me up the #$#%# wall.... you would think that DU is a perennial power the way they talk.

For the first time I'm happy that there is a two week break before the Frozen Four...maybe I'll gain some interest in it now. I think it's going to take about 10 days before I even want to watch a college hockey game. dammit!

Hey folks.... I have two extra tickets, upper level Section 217, row P.. Sioux fans can have them for $25 each. If I gotta sell to DU fans...they are going to pay more.

These two announcers were absolutely awful! Paradise choked through sentences all game long.
Yup...they were pretty bad. I heard them make some type of reference about UND not being on track because they hadn't played in a while. WTF? I guess they didn't know about the WCHA final five. They also kept referring to HC's conference as some type of "American" conference rather than Atlantic Hockey.
It's like they sent the "A" team out to do the Eastern Regional...those guys were actually okay, but biased toward the east (of course). I didn't have the benefit of listening to radio, so after a while I just listed to some cd's while I watched the game.

Impossible. Jimmy Howard is the best goaltender in the NCAAs. You can't beat him! I think it was the ref's fault!
2-0? Well, he is good. Unfortunately for him, he's playing against a team out of the Boston area. Otherwise, nothing would find it's way into the net.

Yeah, I'd buy one if they had them available. It seems that my 20 year old jersey has shrunk over the years....along with a lot of my other clothes from that era. I guess they just didn't make good clothes then.

I have an old Blackhawks style jersey. I won't sell it for sentimental reasons. .. I like the new jerseys that Ralph got us a lot better than the old Blackhawk Jersey and the old "Geo" design.

Is tailgating allowed at this NCAA sanctioned event? It's supposed to be in the mid 70's friday and saturday...break out the brats + beer.. and the t shirts and sandals! If we could pull that off, it would be much more fun than any bar/restaurant..and a lot safer than driving to the arena!

Looks like three of us are coming down from Ft. Collins on Saturday (I hope I don't jinx the friday game!).... 2 hour drive.
How would you say the ticket opportunities are? I'm cheering against Denver...not that I care who we play...I just want a better shot at buying tickets.. Any suggestions beforehand?

One more thing I noticed in that Denver Post article. Apparantly, Greg Keith from DU is hopeful for CC fan support in The Springs...but I think Caldwell is more realistic...
DU captain Ryan Caldwell isn't counting on it. CC fans presumably have purchased most of the 6,000 tickets sold. Capacity is 7,600, and Denver gets an allotment of only 400."I think it will be as bad for us as any time we've played down there," Caldwell said. "But we still like where we're going."
I think the CC fans will back the Sioux.... they HATE DU with the deep all encompassing hatred that raged through Darth Vader during his badguy days. If we can keep that consuming hatred of DU flowing, they can spend their time cheering the mighty Sioux. That'll be nothing but good for the Sioux!

I love this quote from an article in today's Denver Post... Apparantly we is slow.....
Denver is 0-3-1 against North Dakota this season and was outscored by a combined 21-6. But all four games were on the slimmer NHL-size rinks, where strength often negates speed. The Sioux have four 215-plus-pound defensemen.First, don't overlook Holy Cross. Second, Denver may not get past Miami. Third...hang this on the BB in the Sioux locker room....

I think this is a great "tune up" before the NCAA's for both teams. I'm glad the Sioux will get a quality opponent before the regional. I am a little concerned that without this game, UND might be a bit lethargic going to the Springs...

I'm going to try to make it, but if I can't...I noticed that NESN has the games from Colorado Springs. I have the Fox Sports pack with DTV, luckily college hockey isn't blacked out!

I am as opposed to this war as anyone, but I would never question the integrity of our armed forces and their struggle in a hostile environment such as Iraq. I know we have our disagreements over this war, but I think this thread is more about honoring them than showing our views on the war.
Agree or disagree about the war, that's fine. But when these soldiers are called up to do their duty and die in the act, we need to remember and honor their sacrifice. It irritates me that either side of this issue needs to be brought up in this thread. Take this argument to another thread.
