I really don't think there's a policy stating that NCAA teams must have a nickname. Dropping our current nickname is what they want. If we do that, I seriously doubt that they would force us to come up with another name. They would be happy to merely be rid of the name that they hate so much. Or... we could be the Seminoles. That name has already been given a free pass, right?

I remember last year when the games were broadcast live online by the local radio station in the Greater Grand Forks area. Having said that I was trying to hear the game online last weekend but there was a problem. I couldn't find the where to go to listen to the game. So if anyone who knows where I should go to listen to this weekends games online could they please be kind enough to post it thank you it would be a great help to me.

Thank you Matt for the kind words. I will be at the game tonight & it's only a two hour drive from my house. I have seen a lot in my 55 years of living but so far UND rocks along with UF of course. Hey Matt: You just might be right on that one & I agree with that. Now having said that for which the game is being played in "DEATH VALLEY" & I have been there a time or two in my lifetime. Now if & that's a big if we pull that one off then we'll be on our way but right now it's AUBRUN this weekend at the SWAMP & it's payback time. Thanks for your imput.

After seasons are over there should also be allstar teams, from each state. Then have playoffs & determine the National Champions

So far so good 2-0 that's an excellent start if you ask me. I hope & pray that ya'll run the table & win the whole thing. I really do mean that from the bottom of my heart. As for me I'' be ready for this comming Saturday when the VOLS come the the SWAMP & we're going to have some VOLS for brunch. So in closing: GO SIOUX & WIN IT ALL & GO GATORS CHEW UP THEM VOLS.

Maybe the NCAA thought that no school would challenge them in court as sort of a bluff now that UND did, they are trying to settle out of court because they know what they did was IMO stupid and not thoughtout very well. One they came out with the list of schools they thought these schools must comply or else. But when they first starting to allow the schools to come off that list their credibility of being a "bully" to big schools deminished greatly so they picked on the little schools like William and Mary, IUP, and especially UND but when UND said we are taking your butt to court they know they messed up with them. NCAA your nothing when someone stands up to you. So put your tail between your legs and run the other way cause the Sioux are going to kick your a$$!!
AMEN TO THAT! Second, the NCAA doesn't want it's dirty laundry air out in public & to me that's the only reason if any that they want to settle out of court that's what I think on that bit. Now if that happens great if not we'll just have to wait & see like everybody else.

There's a long list of better uses of funds than the way the NCAA currently allocates resources.
But back to the point: I can't wait for the NCAA to tell Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and a few others to drop the animals. Talk about it hitting the fan. Those schools aren't as "PC-obsessed" as Illinois. I just regret that it wasn't done sooner. I've always felt that once we started talking about Notre Dame's leprechaun, people would realize how stupid this whole thing is.
I wonder if this would mean that Chief Osceola would have to come out with one of those broomstick horses?? (Awfully hard to hold a flaming spear in one hand and make the horesy-back motions with the other.) Would Tommy Trojan also have to use one of these?
I wonder if they'd tell the Air Force Academy to quit using the falcon? Or Auburn to stop using an eagle? Where were these people a few years ago. This level of NCAA stupidity would have been great for Chief Illiniwek (and saved your supporters a few dollars too).
Hell I remember long ago when we had a live alligator for a mascot but after the GATOR passed on we went with someone it a GATOR SUIT. To that's not really the same but I can live with it. Now as for the NC$$ say that Chief Osceola can't ride on there on a horse. I think the NCAA needs to GET A LIFE.

I agree with you SIOUX_YEAH_YEAH. It's real stupidity hell I remember when they play the University of South Florida here in Tampa & the refer to them as the University of Southern Florida. So those folks haven't change one bit if you ask me. GO SIOUX & GO GATORS

It was a great game I remember almost 30 years ago when FAMU upset UM in Tallahassee & this was after FAMU won the D-1AA National Championship the following year Miami tore FAMU a new one but it was embrassing to UM that year for FAMU to do that. As for yesterday's game I will never see another game like that well at least not in this lifetime & I have seen some good ones over the years. Oh yeah Western KY in a way they got a break when lightening start showing up the game was shorten & that was a good thing because it would have been a whole lot worst. After all we're talking about the SWAMP & it's hard if you're the visiting team to win there. As for Tim Tebow, he didn't do too bad ran for a TD & threw for 4 TD'S. Now yesterday's game between ASU & Michigan, this game in my book will go down as one if not the greatest upsets in college football in the last 40 to 45 years. GO SIOUX & GO GATORS

Will Tebow be learning the whole playbook this season, or will it be the quarterback draw every down? Never saw anyone stop it last year.
In a game that was shorten by lightening, Tebow had 4 TD passes & ran for one it a 49-3 win over WKU. So far he has learn the playbook again I stress SO FAR we'll have to wait & see when we play the likes of TN & other SEC schools to know.
