  1. I was asking about the NCHC first round?  Do we miss out on a large chunk of revenue and then have to incur the expenses of traveling?  Could be a good story for Brad but doubt we’ll ever know

    Wait a second.........

I thought we were going to be flush with cash after moving to the Summit because travel expenses would be a fraction of what they were in the Big Sky and the Sioux Center was going to be filled to the rafters with Summit opponents coming to town.

    Did something change?

Or all that additional money for dropping all these sports

Move the Soccer Field.  It is used 3 and a half months out of the year and hosts 9 home games.  The rest of the time it goes unused.  Mostly during the hockey season.  Not sure why the soccer team couldn't play at Memorial Stadium.  NCAA allows for turf fields.  With the HPC now built, you would think the football and soccer teams could organize practices and soccer games to not interfere with each other.  Turn the soccer field into a parking lot.  Adds more surface lots for the students during the year and adds much needed parking for hockey and other events at the REA.

Too narrow, ncaa soccer field needs to be 70+ yards wide.  Could pull out the track to make it happen, but didn’t they just dump a bunch of money into the current field?

Something's wrong with that, I don't care if SDSU is the better team.  Not right but the refs say welcome to the Summit League (first year) and SDSU is the blue-blood in hoops, UND.

We need to drive more if we want free throws.  I would normally agree but the truth is we took almost all jump shots and three’s.

Thought the top six got in the playoffs.  But only the top four, my bad.

Next year the soccer field by the REA should be finished after it’s revamping.  Maybe more stands.

Why only 4 of 9 teams?   Seems low to me.

  6. Either way it's going to cost UND at a time when there is budget struggles.  Jones has leverage for a new deal or if they go a different route they'll have to pay much more than they are now.

It will be interesting to watch both the MBB and WIH coaching decisions.  Fasion will have some very interesting decisions to make.

  7. Maybe we could fully fund all of our sports scholarships if we quit giving away free tution to a fan at some of our sports.  I think this decision reveals that we will be switching conferences and the leadership believes that their will be enough cost savings to cover the deficeit.  They also identified was to raise aditional revenue (increase ticket prices, renegoitate contracts, etc.), I call that a win win.

Keep in mind if we cut Swim and Dive, Softball, Soccer, thats close to 100 students, most of who are on partial scholarship.  I don't think that would help the university overall..
