Late to the party with FCOA?

I am talking football.  I think NDSU was behind Liberty in that regard.

I applaud UND for being the only Big Sky football school to offer it, but I saw it more as a reactive move to staying competitive in the recruiting footprint of the Dakota schools.

This coming year has been carefully planned out for a decade.  Dropping baseball had everything to do with taking over the Summit with new football teams, but admittedly I don't have proof.

You lost me there, unless carefully planned out = reactive for a decade.  UND was late to the party in both moving to D1 and cost of attendance to name a couple things.  Now UND is going to lead the best of the Summit/MVFC and Big Sky to FBS?

Why FBS?  In your vision, will the new Summit have 85 scholarships and COA?  I find it hard to believe that the Big Sky schools in your scenario, which are not even offering COA, can now afford 85 scholarships and COA.  Any chance your new Summit League would stay FCS and 63 scholarships?

I am glad UND is coming to the Summit as the Dakota four offer a strong base.  I believe the Summit is more stable than many believe.  I don't think UNO is going anywhere with budget issues and UND/Denver now in the league.  Don't think the Horizon offers much to UNO.  UNC would provide more value to the Summit than UMKC with baseball and football.  UMKC would be a warm body.  Would like to see the Summit go on the offensive and poach from another conference for a change.

  3. I am glad UND is joining the Summit.  This is the keystone that the Summit needed.  The Dakota schools will now control their own destiny.  When the MVC took Loyola - Chicago, over any of the Dakota schools, I thought screw them.  With Wichita State potentially leaving the the MVC, it will be a shell of it's former self.  Obviously, you will have hockey rivals with Denver and UNO, which will be a good rivalry.

As far as the MVFC, who cares?  2020 is a long way off.  A lot can change.  Summit football, FBS - Tier II?

I could sent a text message to the Big 12 commish.  Does that mean in Miller's eyes that I have been communicating with the Big 12 if there is no evidence of a return text?  Show a return text, and then maybe I'll believe.

Bresciani votes on MVFC membership issues.  File a FOIA on him.  He and Taylor have wanted to screw UND football forever.  A vote in favor of UND to the MVFC is nearly impossible.  Why would the MVFC want 11 teams?  E Ill is not wanted.  Nor are SEMO St, Murray St, Lindenwood  Mankato, or Grand Valley St to make 12.

I think it is interesting that you use random comments from the NMSU basketball coach of getting the football schools back together as proof that WAC football is happening, but yet dismiss texts from your own AD going to the Summit as suspect.  KInd of sounds Baghdad Bob-ish.

Next week Montana has scheduled a press conference next week to show  a new athletic finances study.

It must be news worthy as they wouldn't schedule a press conference.

In 2011, Denver Pioneers people said the Montanas almost moved to the WAC.

Could Montana be the first to move to the WAC, which will give it the right to go FBS Later?

Idaho, Montana, and MSU seem to like UND's potential, as Idaho wanted us in the BSC or else their contract to move was void.

Those schools one would think would want to partner with NDSU to go FBS.  But instead they have chosen UND.  Maybe their President know more about UND's possible donors than we do.

A Montana move to the WAC even without FBS now would set off an earthquake in the Big Sky.

A WAC and Big Sky FCS divisions.  Divisions have been talked about by everyone in the Big Sky.  This might be the moment.

BTW, October 4th ends Rosh Hashanah, which is the end of this Jubilee year.

Corresponding, there are a lot of financial reports that the dollar may no longer be the world currency on Sept 30th.  Instead, a new world currency that has not yet been issued will replace the dollar as the key currency in the world and that currency would be issued and controlled by the IMF.  Obama wants the rest of the world to catch up, so he wont confront the IMF.  If this happens, gold could go to record levels, and US markets would see a marked reduction, especially banks.  Much of my portfolio consists of gold and silver mines, which I will sell probably next year and buy stocks that have been vastly reduced.

What was said in this meeting?

  6. Seems to me this isn't about hockey or football.  It's about containing costs for the non-revenue sports.  So I honestly think UND is headed to the Summit and will keep football in the Big Sky.

I don't get excited about a MVC invite for NDSU, like some people.  An I-29 conference with the Dakota 4, UNO, Oral Roberts and Denver would make for a strong base.

  7. I realize they were referring to the MWC and Pac 12.

I believe that COA will be an important part of determining who participates in the "second tier" of college football.  It concerns me when top FCS teams like UNI, Ill St., UM and MSU are dragging their feet on it.  Makes me think the MVFC and BSC may not be ready for merging with G5 teams and their scholarship and COA levels.

  8. The Nickel trophy with an Indian chief head on one side will be considered demeaning and will be/has been retired like the Confederate flag. The Bully trophy will come into existence as soon as the Roughrider mascot is approved. TR on one side and a Bison on the other. (I am typing this with as much of a Siouxvolley authoritative tone as I can muster).

  9. Next year they'll get their only FBS offer from the Big Sky!

Can just hear the gnashing of teeth in Fargo!

Or. With Missouri State going to the Sunbelt and Youngstown State going to an east coast conference, the new UND president wonders out loud about being in the Big Sky. Faison and Douple do kissy huggy and the UND Roughriders are in the Summit/MVFC.

Did not realize that Faison had a couple MVFC ties (stints at Indiana State and Illinois State).

  10. Any manager that says baloney to workplace issues when 279 out of 280 people quit, obviously he has his head up his narcissistic butt.

Millenialials want a workplace that is joyful and fun, above all. They won't tolerate slave drivers. If they know management is behind them, they will mostly work their butts off.

Seriously?  Would bouncey houses in the parking lot or free ice cream and sprinkles at break do the trick?  Put your big boy pants on.  Trail King's job is to provide a safe work environment and write a paycheck that won't bounce.  With the new plant, we aren't talking some dank, wet and unsafe factory.  Probably have climate control and all the ergonomic advantages there are.  Haven't heard of them bouncing paychecks, so that is probably okay.

My guess, is that with an attention span of about 45 seconds for some millenials and transients, the boredom of a manufacturing job was just too much to bear.  Did TK let them have their technology devices at their work station?  Probably not, for safety reasons.  That would be a big turnoff for some workers.

Nobody tells a millenial what to do so I am guessing that the first supervisor that tells them what needs to be done is a slave driver so supervisor=slave driver.

How many of the 279 are now on some kind of public assistance because they don't know how to do a good job in the workplace?

  11. It doesn't bother me that we aren't giving Wyoming any extra film to study, especially when we are putting in some new schemes. Also, a scripted scrimmage of offense against defense will give the coaches a much better chance to evaluate the players they need to make decisions about. This game isn't televized because the coaching staff didn't want it to be televized... This year.

Seems to me this is a very dubious reason. EVERY college football team puts in new schemes/plays every year as their personnel changes. Most sane successful football programs try to turn their spring game/scrimmage into a major event.
