I read when they sent him down that he would be a top four d-man in Binghamton and see time on the power play. He is a talented kid so he may really progress in the next year or so and stick in Ottawa.
Just wanted to let you guys know that this is the same Brian Lee that everyone hated when he played at UND. Everyone said he wasn't good enough to make it. Looks like he might have a shot at being called up before the season's over if he keeps this up.

im interested to see whos with oshie and duncan

Isn't it a little early to judge how grafton's goaltending is going to be. I realize the bigger schools are just pissed that grafton can consistently compete and steal wins from them when the spoilers have 1/4 the number of kids come out for the team. I also see that RR plays grafton in grafton right before regionals. Theres no way they will still a win out of grafton at that time of year unless the refs help them out.
For your information, Grand Forks refs are not reffing in Grafton this season, so you Spoiler fans can't blame the game on the refs from Grand Forks. Red River and Grafton play in Grafton the last game of the year every year.

Red River has 8 returning forwards including Alex Simonson, 4 returning defensemen, and the top goalie in the state. The only teams that I see Red River having some trouble with are Roseau and Bloomington Jefferson. I don't think a team from North Dakota will play them to a close game.

Since we're in random predictions mode, I expect Hak to put out a more physical line-up against Sparty:
Davidson, Forney, Miller, and LaPoint sit.
Against the faster BC next week Miller and LaPoint play.
I love how you say that Lapoint will sit this weekend but will play next week against a faster Boston College team. Marto is five times the skater that Lapoint is. I also agree that Miller will not sit a game this season. His offensive skills are too valuable to not have him in the lineup.

Dan Hammer read some of the Fargo USHL team's draft picks today and they were all from MN. Were any ND players drafted?
Alex Simonson was drafted by Chicago.

I thought it was a pretty fun game. Attendance was better than I expected, and the game was a pretty decent pace for an exhibition. Stafford played a good deal of shifts, but didn't look 100%. Goering warmed the bench just fine, and Vanek got booed during introductions. There was really no penalties or stoppage, which made the game just a hair under 2 1/2 hours. There were a few missed goals and posts hit by both teams, which added some excitement. If Parrish would have gotten the in-between-the-legs goal, the game would have been amazing and would be SC Top Plays worthy. Plus I got a few autographs from Brad Bombardier, so all in all a great NHL exhibition game at the Ralph. I can't wait until OCT 7th!!!!!
It was Pavel Demitra who tried to go between the legs.

Anyone in GF follow Boys' tennis at all? We (South) beat Central yesterday 9-0 and GFRR beat WF 9-0 yesterday as well. Only 3 undeafeated teams in the East in South, GFRR, and lucky North (who last year lost their entire Top 9).
South has a good opprotunity to beat RR this year and we are pumped to face them in 2 weeks.
That's not going to happen, but keep dreaming.

This will be my third consecutive year attending the College World Series in Omaha and it is one event that I feel everyone who has any desire to watch baseball should attend. The passion that these kids play with is unbelievable to go along with a great atmosphere. Not to mention it is cheap and there are quite a few different ways to get tickets. If you ever have the chance to go to Omaha for the World Series, take it and I promise that you will not regret your decision.

I don't know about this? Your information is probably 3rd or 4th hand.
This is first hand information. I was also informed that he was going to go to the Waterloo tryout sometime in the next few weeks.

Another kid to consider coming in for the 2008-2009 season: Mario Lamoureux. I know you are all saying that I am a retard and that he committed to Northern Michigan, but with his brother attending Air Force next year, Mario was able to get out of his commitment and it going to play another year in the USHL. Hopefully he will want to stay close to home and will commit to the Sioux.

Rumor has it. No confirmation I would suppose. Again, people are dreaming here, I have nothing against the kid but he isn't going to play in Division one. I just don't see it happening. Lets see Walski isn't going to get a sniff and we are supposed to believe this kid is going to play at denver or wisconsin...
I heard it right from the horse's mouth so now what do you have to say.
-
really? what two teams?
Wisconsin and Denver. Rumor has it that someone representing Wisconsin was at either EDC or the State Tournament.

Not saying Arnason is a D1 talent or not, but he did play better against Deichert head to head. Didn't Deichert give up 8 goals against Red River, or did he get pulled before that? He also wasn't that impressive at the state tournament. You certainly can't argue with Arnason's numbers. True he played for a very good team, but then again so did Deichert.

Arnason was also the starting goalie that was on the festival team that won the national tournament. He has been looked at and contacted by two different WCHA schools.
-
so all 4 are d-1 prospects then or potential sioux/wcha hopefuls....what positions for each? thanks a lot!
All four could possibly be Sioux prospects. Arnason is a goalie, Meland a forward and LaDouceur and Galbreath are defensemen. Stats can be seen at http://www.gfparks.org/ndaha/grandforksredriver.html
-
are there and local grand forks players on the sioux radar?? or any coming up for red river or central in the next couple years that could be? thanks
Pat Arnason, Eric Meland, Ryan LaDouceur, and Jarrett Galbreath from Red River. All four are juniors this year.

I was watching the game between the Devils and Senators when the Devils won in double overtime. It was interesting to see the Devils power play in the first overtime that consisted of Zach Parise, Travis Zajac, Brian Gionta, Paul Martin, and Andy Greene. All of these guys have played college hockey within the past 5 years and now are on the special teams unit in overtime in the playoffs.

Congrats to Matt Greene and Brandon Bochenski on making the roster for the US National Team.

Sydney Crosby made a verbal commitment to UND today.
Sydney Crosby or Sidney Crosby?
-
Shea Hamilton is not on the team anymore. I have no other information but was told by someone close to the team that he is not on the team anymore.
-
Why has nobody mentioned the "Dakota Connection" of Dean Barsness, Steve Palmiscno, and Brian Williams?

Although this is only their predictions for the Hobey Hat Trick, I am impressed that Duncan is in the top three. The true Hobey Hat Trick is announced Wednesday afternoon.

I haven't been following this thread but here are my thoughts.
Phil big saves, but weaker goals.
Lee: Played physical at times (good), got burned a few times (bad).
Overall team effort: Solid
When did Lee get beat? If your referring to the last goal, there was nothing that he could do.

Will the games be available online?

Something to think about, if the Sioux win at USD and Omaha loses to Central Washington, would the Sioux be a two seed?
