I thought the single game seats didn't go on sale until the week before-for this series anyway, they are trying to sell a package deal. But there are usually plenty of places to sit/stand.
-
If it's still available I'd take it too, but looks like you already got a taker.
-
Is it? Please, please, oh please...
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes, Tonight only.

We can. The dead gophers should come flying after the first Sioux goal, the ref will issue a warning to the crowd, and that will be the end of it. That's how it was the last few years in the old Ralph, it's just that nobody has dared to do it in the new Ralph.

Anyone brave enough to try it at the Mariucci??? THAT would really be funny!

Didn't we already change the logo back and forth several times to have a Native likeness, then not, now to a likeness. You can't possibly please everybody every time. So the changes made some happy-or happier, and others not so they tried again, that didn't work either. Changing the name or logo another time is never going to make every one happy.
They should just try to come up with something that people and live with- co-exist with. Peacefully. I am not in favor of changing anything about the name or logo. I do support people treating people fairly and with respect. And I think most people that attend UND sporting events try to do that.

We can recycle our old signs.

Hek yeah!
Just Hobey ones or can we use any or all? I still have some from last year that will work great.
-
It's intersting to see how one series can change things (pretty drastically in some cases). It was great to see the Gophers loose to Alaska Fairbanks. And Denver to Maine. It will be another exciting season!

Anyone know if Sensor's will be able to get the game tonight?
And I think this generation of SIOUX fans are much more loyal than perhaps the ones from the early 90's. I was still in High School then, but watched every game I could.

I just visited the siouxshop.com site and they are selling the jerseys from 1947 (I think). They are white and kelly green and have a small logo, then in a semi circle SIOUX on the front. I bet that's what you'll be seeing this weekend.
Either way...GO SIOUX!

I'm going to wait until the week before to get mine; right after the gofers lose to St. Cloud in the first round of the WCHA playoffs....Should be able to bet pretty decent seats...
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You mean you're going to pick up the abandoned seats of the rodent fans??? That's a clever stratagy. But I like to be on the safe side. And I have faith in the Fighting Sioux, so I won't be giving up any of my tickets.
-
I got my order form for the WCHA tourney at the Xcel Center on Sat. Tickets are $130 this year. Deadline to pre order is Nov 14. Packages go on sale to the general public on Dec. 1 at the Xcel or through Ticketmaster.
-
I got my tickets!!! at about 9:30 this morning. I'll be there Saturday only, unfortunately.
Like I said before, I enjoy drinking, so any like minded individuals can join me for some rounds.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Where will you be doing this pregame activity? We have a tradition...someone has to slam a beer before the game.

Anybody know if this is going to be televised at all?

Anyone who brings Engelstad Arena or Ralph Engelstad into this debate is merely jealous of what he has donated to this University.
And we all know that jealousy is the highest form of flattery.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Jealousy and immitation...
Which is why the Xcel Center is practically a replica of the Ralph!
The article also makes no mention of the possiblity of any other school hosting if indeed the writer had the facts right- which they didn't .
-
There have been some very misleading articles in the St. Paul Pioneer Press in the last several days. (I also can't figure out the link thing) But today there is an editorial about the possiblity of the Regional Tournament being moved from UND to St. Paul. Who let's this stuff get published?? KARE 11 reported that UND will lose funding from Engelstad if they change the name. Were are the MN news journalist getting their facts from? I just can't believe how many assumptions they make, then report them as facts.
-
From what I understood, the general public was exempt from any harsh treatment, just encouraged not to wear it. The cheerleaders and the band must change their uniforms to reflect it.
Here's another thing to ponder: Jordy's mask. Can you imagine how much it would cost to replace that? It has to be more expensive than his jersey.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Maybe he could just cover it with a shower cap.

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this or posted it, but it appears that there is yet another obstacle in the way of the Fighting Sioux being able to use their Logo. I personally don't think the NCAA has any business telling schools what to call themselves. They should be busy enough regulating the goings on with athletics.
I know what everyone on this board thinks about the issue. I am wondering if anyone has any information as to what UND's next plan of attack would be.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
There is a discussion on the Sioux Name Forum as to the recent ruling by the NCAA. There is a press confrence at 3pm today.
-
Wait a minute? Is the NCAA punishing UND because the Spirit Lake Tribe didn't answer them and clarify the resolution?
This isn't over.
No one should lay down and die because of the NCAA's decision today.
That's not the way this country came to be, and there is no reason not to try.
YOU HAVE NO CHANCE OF SUCCEEDING IF YOU DO NOT TRY.
I have yet to see a Fighting Sioux athletic team lay down and die. There's no reason that people should say this is over.
