  1. I have owned the domain name www.fightingsiouxforever.com for a few years now and have never had time to do anything with it.

Wondering if there is somebody out there that would be looking to buy the domain name and start up a website.

Let me know if you have any questions or interest in the domain...

    email me at:

    fightingsiouxforeverdomain@gmail.com

    Thanks

  2. I played in the tourney last year and want to play again. The alumni web page has it down as February 25th which would be a Sunday. Is that correct? Or should it be Saturday the 24th? If anyone knows I could use some help. I called and left a message with them also, just wondering if anyone could help me first.

Anyone else playing in the tourney? Should be fun again this year.

  3. State street is the name of the main stip of bars. The street will be closed down to traffic and will be packed starting at about 7 for an eleven a.m. game. My favorites include State Street Brats: try to get a seat upstairs with a great view of the big screens. The Kollege Klub is another good one as well as the Mad Hatter. I'ld recommend just walking around the stadium during the football game and taking in as much as you can. If you can get a tic make sure you are in there between the 3rd and 4th quarters when they play "Jump around"

There is a bar next to the stadium with an open roof on it that is also a fun time. Can't remember the name though. Either way, just hanging around the stadium you'll have a great time. We've just walked around throwing a football to anyone we see and had some of the best days of our lives. People probably won't giv e you much crap about your jersey as during football season no one is very concerned with hockey. It'll be a great time for you though.

  4. My rating would be like this:

    1)2001 Championship game

2)Todays win vs UNI (assuming UNI has a successful year from here on out)

3)Mooney's strip and win vs NDSU to break the streak

    4)Semi-final win vs UC-Davis

    your thoughts...?

  5. They said he was being rather stubborn when they took him in for an MRI yesterday. When I heard this I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that he was back to normal. His parents had a tough time and seem to be doing a lot better now.

Craig Horpedahl and Jon Godfread are in the midst of setting up a fund raising account to help ease the family with some of the expenses. There will most likely be opportunities to help out at Grand Forks American Legion games, as Brian is one of the all time great players to pass through the program and continues to help the program now by coaching. There will also be opportunities at other local baseball activities as Brian has been one of the most influential coaches in GF youth baseball for over the past 5 years. He has also worked with youth basketball programs in GF since his playing days at Red River and also helped out with the UND men's program the past two seasons.

I will give more information as soon as I recieve it. Feel free to message me with any questions about Brian or about the fund raising and I will be happy to help where I can or turn you to someone who will.

    Thank you.

    Mike

  6. Wow, what a black eye for UND! Randall turns down other good job offers in the past few years to stay loyal to UND and they in turn treat him like crap. One day they are telling him congratulations on being the new head coach, the next day they are bringing in new candidates and fans are smearing his name in the mud. Way to go administration and fans! I'm not saying they should have handed him the job on a silver platter, but wow did they do a horrible job with this process. Makes me wonder about how qualified Buning is for the job.

I hope Randall goes on to have a wonderful career and makes it to were he wants to go. I'm guessing he will never publicly out UND because he is much classier then the administration that is in place right now.

  7. What about Chris Davis Assistant Coach at Drake University (No relationship to HC Dr. Tom Davis). I think He would be a great fit as UND moves to D1 status. He has recuited D1 players and coached at the D2 and D1 level with much success.

I must have missed the announcement?!?!...again my computer was down so would somebody please morse code me the news.

    Thank you,

    ESPNInsider

  8. Who asked for this endorsement...and how did this take place?? Holt definitely tried to gain their endorsement.... some similarities perhaps???

The players wrote a letter to the administration without the knowledge of Randall so I'm not sure what you're trying to get at. The players who are currently on the roster want Randall to coach, a couple of the players who are about to sign are waiting until they hear some info before they sign. I don't see any reason not to give him the shot he deserves.

Like I said before give him a short contract and let him prove what he can do, afterall, he's stuck with the program through these trying times and turned down great offers from other schools because he believes that he can do something special with the program here. Randall truly believes that the program can, and should be a top-level program in the country like our football and hockey programs. He wants to get it there as much as anyone else and that's a major reason why he's turned down other jobs. He realizes what a great school we have, and that the school deserves to have a basketball program that parrallels that of the other sports here.

  9. Do you guys really think all the fans who were leaving after the women's games were thinking to themselves, "if only Herbst were in charge, I'd stay?"

It comes down to wins and losses. If Herbst is hired, all the rercruits do end up coming (should be a great class) and the team starts winning you will see more and more people in the stands. Or do you think if the team is 15-1 and rolling over teams people will file out of the arena saying "if only Craig Smith were coaching, then I'ld stay"

Or maybe you think that if Smith is hired, he loses many of the recruits for this season, but is 7-7, the gym will be packed and the kids will be holding "Craig Smith for President" signs at the games.

Herbst has put in his time with the program, maybe they had some tough times while he was here, but he also deserves a shot to run the team himself, using HIS plays, HIS styles, HIS decisions, HIS recruiting. He deserves a shot, whether it be a short contract to give the school options, he deserves a shot.

...don't ask where I've been, my computer had an extremely bad virus

  10. He was asked to resign.

I've actually never heard anyone say anything positive about him. The times that I've dealt with him he was neither professional, nor cordial. I will not miss him and I think the REA will be better off without him.

  11. I don't think that statement is either fair or accurate. To say smoking has no benefit to humans, let's be consistent and apply the same statement to Mountain Dew, coffee, and alcohol. I guess Mountain Dew, coffee, and alcohol should not exist either. But... people enjoy those products, right? Well, whether you like it or not, some people enjoy smoking too. That's why it should continue to exist.

To say it is addictive is just silly. I used to smoke from the time I was in high school till I was in my mid '20s. Then one day about 10 years ago I decided it was costing me too much money so I abruptly quit. Ever since that day I have considered it a guilty pleasure that I indulge in only on the rare occassions that I go out drinking with friends.

Smoking isn't any more addictive than drinking coffee, watching TV, or surfing the internet. Anything can be considered addictive if you enjoy doing it. I smoke when I go out drinking, and that's it. I don't smoke in my house, in my car, at work, or any other place at any other time. If it was as addictive as people suggest, I would not be able to months at a time without smoking now would I?

I don't get cravings, and honestly I have to laugh at all the anti-smoking people who have never smoked a cigarette in their lives and yet think they're experts on how addictive it is. I know firsthand how easy it was to quit. On the rare occassions when I do indulge it is because I want to, not because I feel like I have to.

If you don't like smoky bars, go to one of the non-smoking bars that are available. You have a choice, we should have a choice as well.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Dave, are you serious about some of these comments? You're comparing Mountain Dew to cigs? TV to cigs? "To say it is addictive is just silly"

The only benefit smoking has to humans is that either it fills their addiction, or it fills their pockets with money.

The first step in overcoming an addiction is admitting you have one.

  12. It's a good read however, I do wish they had polled more Native Americans.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That's the problem I have with that poll too. Would be great if they had responses from more people. Just not enough people to say that it's legit.

I'm thinking that it is probably pretty representative though.

  13. I'm guessing you guys who are against the law are also against the seat belt law? Why do it? Because it saves lives. Some people are not smart enough to realize what will save their life and what will kill them. Sometimes the government needs to give them some help.

The only problem with having the law only in restaurants and not in bars is that businesses are hurt then. If you go across the board then no business is hurt.

  14. Three bits of info regarding this year's team:

    1)  Lamar Phillips, the JC recruit has left school after only one or two days on campus.  Who knows, that may be a good thing if he had an attitude problem!

    2)  Koenig had some minor surgery on his good knee and may not be able to go full tilt at the start of practice.  That is a bad thing!

    3)  Shawn Swan is not back - that is a good thing!!

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Was this news to the coaches, or did they know all this was coming?

  15. Agreed. If anything, it seems the NC$$ policy has more than galvanized public support for UND and the other schools across a wider spectrum than if the issue had been raised locally again by the "usual suspects".

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree that UND has gotten some good PR so far. But, if the tribes did not support the name and the school continued to battle, the pr would turn ugly I'ld think.

  16. Again..... by "entire city" do you mean GF & EGF OR Bars should be smoke free along with all public places?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Oh sorry. I mean bars. But EGF will take some of the smoking public. It would be nice for EGF to go smoke-free too. Then I don't think that anyone would lose business.

  17. Non-smokers have the right to breath smoke-free air, and I have the right to smoke.  What I think is stupid is the argument that non-smokers shouldn't be forced to breath smokey air. That is why places like the Italian Moon, Dagwoods, and Suite 49 were already smoke free. Non-smokers had options. An all smoking ban would give me absolutely no options as a smoker.

I used to go to Bonzers usually twice a week. I haven't been there since the smoking ban. We have all started going to whitey's where we can smoke. I am not claiming smoking is good for your health, but we are taking away one groups rights just to please a few. Kinda sounds like the NCAA.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You do have options. You can walk 10 feet out the door and enjoy your cancer stick.

This does not just please a few. It pleases the millions of us that will now be able to go home after the bar and breath.
