  1. I'm hoping for a good clean game. I have no illusions that we are more talented than Minnesota. Nor any illusions that we outplayed Minnesota last week; there were a month of good bounces in that WCHA semifinal.

But as the ESPN broadcast team said yesterday, "Good teams have good players. Great teams have great teammates."

If we have an edge, its that intangible.

Couldn't have said it better myself!
  2. This is likely the last season we will have the Fighting Sioux name and logo and I think this team is the perfect team to end the era with. They are a great example of the Fighting Sioux heart and spirit. They have exceeded all expectations and, win or lose today, have earned and deserve our everlasting admiration and respect.

What a great season, already over acheived and now a chance to end the "RIVAL" gopher season. What a great year to be a huge fan! GO SIOUX!!!
  3. I have a couple of buddies who are diehard Gopher fans. We met at the Final Five many years ago. They are passionate and very knowledgeable about the game. They can appreciate a good play no matter who makes it. We have a good time every time we meet and we will be going out for supper after the Saturday games. But we did not have one other Gopher fan say a good word and over the three days had many many negative comments. I did not respond once and before she could stop herself my wife did respond once to a guy who was a real jerk. No one wanted to take it outside or challenge me to a fight, but in total this was definitely the worst we have ever experienced at the Final Five or at a Gopher-Sioux game.

I call this the entitlement crowd, they have been around for a long time. We will always continue to see it from some fans. We of course have halos! :hypocrite:
  4. Congrats on a great win last night. Didn't see a minute due to kids game, but I truly hope you guys win tonight and the NCAA gives the Gophers the same instant rematch that you guys got in '07!

be careful what you wish for!
  5. Just a couple thoughts...

Sioux catch fire, go on a big run and are winning in the Nat'l Championship game until the NCAA catches someone in the band standing in the hallway talking to someone wearing a Fighting Sioux pin on their lapel and decide to award the championship to the other team...or...

Sioux finish 14 in the pairwise but somehohow Lakeland Dental Academy, Bozos Clown College and DeVry Institute of Technology get the nod over UND even though mathematically the Sioux are in...the NCAA's response is a confused look, upturned palms, and a "no comment"...

    couldn't agree more! HYPOCRITES!!
  6. On Kristo's penalty shot call, I'm not so sure the puck didn't cross the line before the DU player knocked the net off. I watched the replay on DVR, and at the very least, the puck was at the goal line when the net was pushed off. It looked like Hakstol was calling for the goal too. Not sure why they didn't review it. If they had determined it was a goal, we would have gotten a power play on top of it.

I thought so also, on the goal. Probably never get a power play also though!
  7. Have never been more proud of a Sioux hockey team...marginal talent and shorthanded, but more guts, character and grit than any Sioux team I've watched...ever. Hak's job this year with the injuries, walk-ons, ect. has been almost miraculous.

1st period was probably most dominant 20 minutes of Sioux hockey in years.

Mac leads the team in penalties and unfortunately his rep due to that got him tossed IMO. Horrible call though.

Kristo was best player on ice by a mile tonight...wow was he good.

DU is chippy and Lee is a tool, but least he has a pair to scrap and claw. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

The announcers were great. They couldn't believe how long it took for Shep and TA to finalize a call. I wanted to scream "It's Shep and TA, what do you expect!"

Our captain has to start playing better and smarter...our walk-ons are playing better/smarter at this point!

The last 6 minutes of sloppiness hopefully will get the team refocused. I said earlier if UND was to win a game, it would be Friday. Now I'm greedy...want a sweep now.

Eids still looks real shakey at times...flops, out of position and giving up one juicey rebound after another. But he is winning. IMO Dell is the one who will give us our best chance to make a deep run if he is healthy. Tough call as every game is a must win from here on out, but I think BE starts again tonight.

Great win in a barn where we have struggled as of late.

I couldn't have said it better, couldn't be prouder of the play of the team!
  8. By the looks of the posts on this board, I would be wanting a piece of these refs if I was watching live.

    Good riddance to WCHA officiating!

Yeah, Don Adams is having one of his nights, where he calls one team for the same exact thing the other team has just done, and no call! tonight it was our night! lucky us!
