  1. First off, I believe Jordan should play both games in Denver, but I don't see why Phil can't get some playing time (and IMO, he should to give Jordan some rest before the playoffs) against MTU.

Secondly, how do you know JPar won't make the NHL? To be honest, Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins was a career minor leaguer... but fancy now he's an NHL goaltender. No one knows what Jordan's lot in hockey is after UND. Will he sign early? I doubt it, but it is possible. I don't think any NHL team is going to try to "beat the rush" on an already undrafted free agent.

Well I have a whole lot of wishfull thinking that JPAR won't leave. But I do think he has as good of chance of playing at a higher level.

  2. I strongly disagree, unless we have Jpar in net our chances of winning go down by a huge factor. IMO I have a lot of faith in Lammy, but we have not won many games in front of him. As far as Jpar leaving do you know something, where would he go not the NHL.

  3. I don't know what the rest of you thought, but I felt there were too many passes. Less passing more rushing the net. Canada played the US exactly how they wanted to, keeping most of our shots outside.

  4. Alright, this was funny. And a great way to start off this particular day I might add.

Sportcenter this morning. Kudos to Thomas Vanek for making #9 on the top ten plays. The great hidden treasure was the following:

John Buccigros, "#9. U2's in Buffalo Thursday night. Thomas Vanek former Minnesota Gopher..."

    John Anderson, "Dirty Gophers."

I couldn't believe my ears. I saw this at 4:50, then watched it again at 5:50 and 6:50 just to make sure I heard correctly.

    YEP! DIRTY GOPHERS! :):):D;);)

That is so cool, I tuned in after reading your post.

  5. Goofer down to the BADgers by one in the first Frazee looks just as sievey as Briggs.

FSN just had a nice piece on all the inclose goals on the Goofers. Funny how all the Goofer defensemen are back watching as their goalie gets scored on.

Sioux need to take advantage of this(close scoring on Briggs,Frazee) looks like a major chink in the gopher defense and Wisco took full advantage.

  6. Following up on the mention of Mazacco: I couldn't believe how he and Woog made the comments about how they thought the checking from behind call (on the Badger in the Friday night game) was the wrong call and that he didn't deserve to be booted from the game, etc. I couldn't believe it because that is how I felt about the call, also! Then I realize that Sagissor (the Wisconsin "booth rep") was sitting right next to them and they couldn't go into their usual "homer" whinning about "they have to make that call" and all of the other baloney they usually say (like FM's favorite.........."the gopher player is knocked to the ice,....no call, play goes on," insinuating that the ref missed an obvious penalty against the poor gophers. The phoney attempt by the two gopher announcers brought to mind the "he protestith too much" comment, that I think was a quote from some Shakespearian character whose suspicions were arroused concerning the truthfulness of some perpetrator of evil.

I have a suggestion to FSN: How about always having a rep from the opponent's broadcast crew in the booth with Wooger and FM? It would certainly give a more balanced and less biased commentary of the action than that with which we are usually fed from this pair of gopher cheerleaders.

I think that is a great suggestion, I wish we could get that done!

  7. The crazy thing about that UM/UW series is that in the last 10 games at the John the Gophers held a 10-0 advantage. THAT'S NOT A TYPO!!! 10 to 0!!!

Wisconsin, at this point, is as good as and better than anyone in the NCAA.

HOWEVER, don't expect them to rocket to the finals without a fight.

This weekend was great for UND in terms of league standings. All the right teams lost. UM/CC/St. Cloud

KUDOS also to UAA, who after getting shutout in the great white north, came back to win 2-1 tonight!! UND gained a good amount these last few series, standings and stats-wise.

I agree they are a good team! They seem to be as complete a team that we have seen this year!
