  1. Can you stand by that statement. I of all people would wish it to be true. :silly:

It would certainly ease the pain from last night. I talked with TJ's dad after the St Cloud game @ the WCHA Final Five...he said he was a school teacher and would love TJ to stay in school...he seemed to give the impression that he was going to stick around. He also said that Johnny(Toews) was gone. I think Taylor Chorney is a big concern...Taylor didn't have his best game last night, but he without a doubt is a fantastic player. Should be an interesting off season.

  2. The key to beating UND is not just containing the DOT Line. The key to to keep the other Sioux lines off the scoreboard.

I know I have a lot more confidence in the other lines now than I did a couple months ago.

  3. Probably BC.....I've always like their program, the way they play, and their colors. :silly:

Should be a great game but I won't be able to watch it.

I'd have the same reaction if things were reversed. Thanks for being a classy Gopher fan Greyeagle.

  4. There's only one problem with today's game. It's not for the NCAA Championship. Can't wait. Here's hoping for a repeat of the FF! Go Gophers, and Congrats Sioux on really runing your season around. Early onb, I never thought I'd see you guys even get to this point. It's going to be a great game.

I agree...this game should be played in 2 weeks. The Sioux-Gopher matchup is the best rivalry in college hockey, it would have been great to have this game as the National Championship Game. Anyway, today should be a great game. GO SIOUX

I am down in Carlsbad, Ca on vacation...game will be on at 3:00 pm here. Does anyone know if there is a good place to watch the game in the San Diego-Carlsbad area?

  5. How can't you wish the best for Jonathan Toews? He seems like such a polished kid, who is without a doubt ready for the NHL. We just need you to help us win 3 more games Jonathan.

  6. Are you kidding me, Lucia? Did anyone else hear how loud it got at the Xcel Energy center when St. Cloud scored on the Sioux in the semifinal of the Final Five? It was loud, and it was mostly Gopher fans.

I was there...it was very noticeable.

  7. Good then hockey is the only sport you consider important for the next 2 years. Good to know! :)

One thing about the transition to D1(except hockey) for us Sioux fans is that we still do have hockey for post season play. The hockey season is as long as the football & basketball schedule combined. Obviously Bison Dan you have no love for hockey, but there are a lot of people around here(SiouxSports.com) that do. No hockey isn't the only sport I consider important, I think the other Sioux sports will be just fine in time, especially football when we do play NDSU again.

  8. I'm more interested in getting this behind us rather then fighting about it. Even if we win the lawsuit, there is nothing to keep other AD's from refusing to play UND. And, as I said earlier, we don't have the Native Americans solidly behind us. I feel it is time to focus on the D1 move up. The money going to fight the name change might just come in handy when we have to pony up $250,000 for an initiation fee. I know,it's a "separate" fund drive, but lets face it, money is money. I say finding a meaningful conference (or two) is more important.

Yea I agree with you Trex...let's just give up. Why fight for something that's right. Let's just throw in the towel. I'm sure glad we have fighters around here...you Trex are not. I don't know what else to say to a person with your stance...unless you have other motives.

  9. Here's a great story for everyone early on a Monday morning.

Since Mr. HockeyMom and I don't get FSSN, we went up to a local watering hole Saturday night to watch the game. When we got there, the tv wasn't on the channel, so I asked the bartender to turn the channel to the game to which he did. One of the wisest Bison fans ever, saw that they had changed the channel, and looked over at us and yelled, "Division I Wannabes!" To which Mr. HockeyMom started to laugh and replied, "Good one ______!" And we both started to laugh pretty hard.

I guess having 7 Division I titles still makes us wannabes. And to stress a point, there is no -AA after our Division I program.

That is a great story HockeyMom. I live in Fargo and wear my Sioux apparrel quite a bit, people are always giving me a bad time about the D1 thing. NDSU made a very bold move a few years back when they went D1, UND evaluated things and realized it is the right thing to do. What gets me is the stubborness of the Bison brass that refuses to get involved with hockey. I know for a fact they were offered the new hockey arena in Fargo on a silver platter with 8000 seats. Personally I'm glad they turned it down, I prefer the new USHL team coming to town.

I've talked to many Bison fans that had a great time in Minneapolis when the Bison played the Gophers in football. I think the Bison brass should take in the WCHA Final Five in St Paul this weekend to see how exciting college hockey is. I understand that college football & basketball are much bigger on a national level, but hey we live in North Dakota where hockey is popular. This weekend the WCHA Final Five will be packed with fans from Wisconsin, Minnesota, St. Cloud St. & North Dakota. Michigan Tech is the other school in the tournament, could you imagine if that was NDSU? I give credit to the Bison for their move to D1, but you have to give UND credit for their vision with D1 hockey.

  10. Holy! Do you need others to go in on the suites with, or do you have it covered? If you need others...how much are you talking per person? If you'd like to PM me and let me know that would be great. I haven't used the "pm" stuff before, so may take a bit to figure it out!

I sent you a message, did you get it?

  11. Did anyone here listen to Berning on the radio this morning? I didn't catch it, but I was told that they have sold 31 of the 40 boxes, and of the 9 remaning, they have 17 "groups" interested. Is that true? I had also heard that they have sold about 30 or so of the 300 Club seats. If anyone heard the interview on the radio and has some information about it, could you please give an update?

    Thanks!

I didn't hear the interview with Berning, but heard the suites should be sold out within a couple weeks. We had a meeting on Friday night with our group that is purchasing a suite, at first we were getting one suite... that turned into 2 suites...now it looks like we will be needing a 3rd. I'm not trying to sell this for any reason, but if anyone is interested you best get on the stick. I know Coach Blais said last Friday when he was on with Hennen that the suites will be sold out in a couple weeks.

  12. ZPar sure planted one on Prucha and never gave up on bringing it back up the other way! What passing between him and Gomez for the GWG!! SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was the top 10 play of the night on ESPN Sports Center last night too!

I watched that game last night...I'll always be a Zach Parise fan, what a great kid(he is still only 21 years old). With his tremendous attitude, work habits and his obvious hockey skills, he should be a fixture in the NHL for quite some time.

  13. I am a avid fan of Racing NASCAR, WoO-Late Models and WoO Sprint Cars. Can't wait for the races to begin.

My other blog does some racing things.

We sponsor Donny Schatz, who is with the World of Outlaws. Donny has developed himself into one of the best Sprint Car Drivers in the US...I may be a little biased though.

  14. Every goalie gives up bad goals!!!!!!,I would not get to cocky about that fluke goal......

I don believe Petey23 meant for it to be cocky...he was just was stating facts. Oshie was the one who shot the puck from his own endline, Frazee was not in net and the final result was the same...they both went in the net. Every goalie gives up bad goals, but come on.

I seriously feel for Frazee, after all, he was our(US) goalie this year at the World Juniors. The goal was a pivital goal in that game, it was shown as the #1 Play of the Day on ESPN...mentally that has too be very tough on a kid. I think the Gophers have got things back together and will still be the team to beat this year.

  15. Bochenski scores first again for the Bruins, and assisted on Marco Sturm's goal......thats 4 goals in the last 4 games, and 6 points in the last 4 games.....wow....all since joining the Bruins

    Bochenski is on a roll.
