I'd be surprised to see anyone other than Marto for WCHA defensive player of the week. 3 goals on a weekend would be awesome for a forward, yet alone a defensemen!
Lapoint has taken a different role this year by being a more defensive defenseman. So it's not really fair to compare the two offensively. And I don't know that I'd go so far as to say Marto has been good this year because he started out pretty rough. I think YaneA posted last night that he was -9 after the first 14 games. But he's definately been good in the last month or so.
The sioux PP confused me this weekend. Obviously, they scored several PP goals, but then there were several other PP when they couldn't even get set up in the zone. How can you have such inconsistency?
Eids got the shutout that he deserved last Saturday!
And I think most of us would love to see both Watty and Zajac score. They hustle shift after shift, game after game. It's been pretty impressive.
Only 3 of 4, but we'll take it!
He's prob. just getting more comfortable and gaining confidence since coming back. Hopefully we keep seeing more offense from him.
And I always feel bad for whoever is sitting, but when everyone is so close it really just depends on how they were during that specific week of practice. I also feel bad for Blood and Fienhage, but I love Miller back on D
The webcast went down, so I switched over to Sioux radio. Now, everytime I click back to watch the webcast it shows Joe's goal before getting stuck again!
I agree with Marto being great lately, both defensively and offensively. Against BSU, he broke up a 3 on 1 and did the same against Minn with a pivotal 2 on 1.
I'd be shocked if the Sioux get 4. Not saying they'll lose, but they definately have a hard time putting up big numbers against teams like tech. The main exception to this, of course, would be the Friday night against Cornell
