  1. This is kind of redundant, but to get the point across, we don't HAVE any recruits we can bring in early. All of our committed forwards have not yet graduated from high school. And I HIGHLY doubt there is a big time recruit laying around waiting for us to pick him up. We either pick up another depth forward, or go with what we have and pick up a big time recruit for next season. I'm in favor of an extra body, personally. I'm sure the coaching staff has a list of kids they're monitoring and they need to decide if any of them have what it takes to be brought in this year. My 2 cents.

    Thanks

  2. with miller not coming in what is UND going to do with the spot. Bring someone in earlier or land another big time recruit. I do remember Seth AMborz interview after being drafted and he did state UND fits his playing style better but decided to stay closer to home instead. No chance of getting him

  3. I'm going to toss out a previous notion I had with a minor modification:

    Green Reaper

Yes, singular. "The Reaper" for short: "We Reap, you weap."

And for all those saying someone won't like it, well, it has something for everyone:

    • For the milquetoast-bed-wetter crowd we'd use the (earth-loving, organic farming) "Mr. Greenjeans" (from Captain Kangaroo) as our logo.
    • For the ag history folks in ND we'd paint a McCormick reaper (harvester) green as a logo.
    • For the UAV future of the region we'd paint an MQ-9 Reaper green and use that as a logo.
    • And for the black jerseys ... ;)

    I really like that one

  4. Nothing to do with Sioux hockey (Well...maybe), but Brad reported that Sam Brittain is undergoing surgery for a torn ACL and will likely miss most of the season. IMHO I don't think Adam Murray is the goaltender that will lead the pios to the McNaughton Cup. They'll be a great hockey team, but Brittain is a huge loss for them. I guess he tore it during the WCHA Final Five Championship game. He made some great back across his body saves in that game, so I can see where he might have injured himself.

Now if the Wild would only sign Zucker..... :glare:

    I like the zucker thing

  5. 15. Center Joe Labate (Angels Academy in Minnesota): He's 6-4, 180, and the consensus is that he would go later in the second round. But some teams are intrigued enough by his potential to have him in that 28-35 range. "Labate is a huge center who is raw as heck right now," Woodlief said, "but could fill out into a monster."

  6. My guess is that they really like him and they want to make sure they don't lose him if he stays in school through his senior season, and has the option to wait until August 2012 to become a free agent. Didn't they lose Blake Wheeler like that?

I believe you are correct on the Wheeler thing

  7. Parise once said if he was to do it over again he would have stayed another year and thinks players should stay if they are just going to sit in the farm league for a year or 2. Makes no sense for coyotes to bring him in now because their season is over in 2 games....lol
