  1. The reason that the caps are taken off is because some people had the wise idea of going into the bathroom and filling the bottle up with water and then throwing it on to the ice which could really hurt someone. The REA always had that policy it was just never really enforced but now they want it enforced hardcore. (I work at Blue Line Burgers behind Section 311.)
  2. I love it how everyone is saying that Fargo-Moorhead is a METRO AREA when really they are just two towns that are connected by crossing the Red River. I came from a small town in Illinois about 60 miles from Chicago and you want to talk about how Fargo is connected to Moorhead-West Fargo, etc....I'm connected to Chicago and so are over 10 million people from 6 counties in Illinois, 3 counties in Indiana, 2 counties in Wisconsin, and 2 counties in Michigan. So you know what quit bickering about Fargo-Grank Forks, they are both good in their own ways. And I'm suprised that nobody has mentioned that although Fargo is larger in population of the town their university population is smaller than UND's every single year, so there for like someone said before GFK is more of a college/university town that Fargo is.....
  3. I'm glad to see that a fellow fan has the same idea that a lot of the students do. I'm also glad to see that a season ticket holder believes that the new ralph has new ideas on how things should be run and not like the old ralph. I, myself, never saw a game in the old ralph but i heard that is was an awesome experience. I just want to say what was said up there......"is to bring back the atmosphere of the old ralph..."
  4. FINALLY SOMEONE WITH A BRAIN IN HERE!!!!!!!!!
  5. I say that they need better defense they were kind of sloppy this weekend. I know i can't vote twice but i also think that they need to work a lot on power plays. i noticed that this weekends series with the Gofers the Sioux could not keep control of the puck on power play as well as they did...if we need to be good anywhere it needs to be here.....
  6. As a student fan sitting in section 308 both nights, I loved the cheering and the rowdyness of the students. it reminded me a lot of what cheering is about and how it was at high school games...WE STOOD THE ENTIRE TIME AND NO ONE COMPLAINED...but that was high school (not like college is so different) but anyways you all need to deal with us we like our team and our school and will cheer for them no matter what. Another thing is that if you arre so pissed about our cheering then give us all the lower bowl seats and u can sit in the upper bowl and will be able to see the entire game because like the quote says below, its the university of north dakota mens hockey team and not the city of grand forks mens hockey team....
  7. Can someone explain to me why we are regionally ranked at six but won our game against UMD and St. Cloud, Northwood, Winona, and Michigan Tech are ahead of us? I mean St. Cloud lost as well as Northwood but they are still ranked higher than us. is the system all screwed up or what???
  8. It's going to be a fun series...the only one of the year....but im going to say that UND is going to get 4 points... Friday's game: UND 7 UM 4 Saturday's game: UND 6 UM 5 I'll be there waving my flag....GO SIOUX GO SCREW THE GOPHERS.......LOL LOL
  9. GVSU would be an awesome match up......the bison suck so why do we need to play them....hahahahaha. their just pissed because they lost the nickel and the trophy with SDSU this past weekend.
  10. wow it really suxks to be a bison fan in bisonville right now.....the lost the nickel last year and now this trophy with SDSU. maybe noving up wasn't a good idea after all...hahahahahahaha
  11. here is an article from the dakota student that says a lot about the students view: REA the problem, not Student Government by Robert C. Obma September 23, 2004 To the editor, I am writing today to express my thanks to the UND Student Government for the excellent way in which everyone handled the situation this weekend during the season ticket distribution. I was in the mass of people on Thursday night and witnessed class and professionalism by the members of Student Government. You can imagine the time and effort that went into making this weekend fair to all students. The issue of season tickets goes beyond Student Government. Since the opening of the REA a few years ago, the students have been treated very disrespectfully and are constantly being pushed around in favor of the more "wealthy" season ticket holders. As a result, the atmosphere and traditions associated with Fighting Sioux Hockey have suffered. It seems like the new arena has brought about new traditions of social prestige and laser light shows. We need to rise up as students and take back our arena! It is time for students to quit fighting with each other over the lower bowl and realize that it is a bigger issue than that. I ask why students are only allowed 600 seats in the lower bowl yet we make up over 20 percent of the city population. Why are we one of the only schools that have our band in the upper bowl and constantly drowned out by the Ralph's music? It is time we take back our arena from corporate control. So rather than joining the many students in attacking Student Government, I commend them on their efforts and thank them for looking out for us.
